Cuz you 'toasted' your competition? -
Yeah, the box of figs looked pretty new...was quite full and I snagged a Spartan with ease. BTW...when looking for the Spartan, I've found two different box set-ups...a) all three figs in the left row, or b) two figs in the middle row and one in the right row.

That most-hated of toy stores...ToysToysToys...at Scarborough Town Centre. If you can, avoid THEM and go to Mastermind. They've had tons every time I've been there. Call ahead to check though. Ask if they have any boxes in the back, too. They're quite nice about it...and the price at Mastermind is still only $2.99 vs $4.99 at T3 (which is better than the $9.99 they were charging for series one, but still...)

1 Spartan. Worked out great...needed one and I happened to check a place that didn't previously have the figs and there was an almost full box sitting on the counter. Price sucked ($4.99 CDN) but, since I didn't have to take the bus anywhere, it saved me the bus fare, so it was actually cheaper than I would have otherwise paid. Funny thing is though, I didn't have my barcode sheet with me, but I had memorized the Spartan barcode "just in case". I'm glad I did! LOL!

Sorry, I don't see an artist cred anywhere in the book.
-
Pages are just like the 'Atlantis' activity book pages...full colour, non-glossy finish...pictures are drawn, not photographs of LEGO, though they represent LEGO sets, minifigures and scenes.
-
I wonder: a) when they'll be available in Canada and b) why Vader is five bucks cheaper than the Stormtrooper?

Words cannot begin to describe how absolutely AWESOME that MOC is!!!! Great work!
-
No, I did not. Never crossed my mind to check there. *edit* Until AFTER I had started this thread and somebody posted the link.
-
Yeah, you're right about that! Thanks EB staff!

Seriously, I think I'm addicted. I've been reading here a lot lately and...I...CAN'T...STOP! LOL! So many topics, so much input, so many views, so much insight, such cool contests... I've TRIED to do other things today but, even so, I've managed to log about half a dozen hours in here, off and on. I've never spent this kind of time in any other forum...nor would I want to. LOL! Keep up the good work!

I'd LOVE to only pay 8.25%! Aside from the INSANE price disparity of 30%-50% on every set we in Canada pay vs. the American price, we also get hit with 13% sales tax in my province, too! Seriously limits the amount of brick you can buy.
-
Here in Ontario, Canada, we get dinged with "price + shipping + tax" on ALL S@H orders and we don't even have a LEGO store in province and until this past summer, didn't even have one in the COUNTRY! And don't forget the "sell-out" factor! Some sets get bought-up so fast, you don't even get a CHANCE to find them, if you aren't out there on the very first day (such as the quick-to-disappear Hoth Rebel Base). S@H at least gives you a CHANCE to get some of these sets. And I'd rather pay a bit more for the shipping, than to pay three times as much from a re-seller.
-
Yeah, I'd LOVE double-sided plates. They would be MOC-tastic!
-
My apologies. I checked five pages of topics. Guess I should have looked back further.
-
Personally, I'd like to see a double-sided 1x1 plate, with studs on BOTH sides.
-
Both of those books are available in North America on Amazon.com/Amazon.ca. "Fire Rescue Activity Book" and "Let's Build Activity Book", IIRC.

Great book. I really enjoyed it. Kind of surprised me by how quickly I got 'caught up' in it. Finished it in one sitting. LOL!

Not just clowns but, clown-ish items, like that freakin' doll from "Poltergeist". Man, that darn thing scared the popcorn right outta me when I first saw that flick.
