  1. Still had some, like the Fairy Swordfish, kicking around.
  2. I have to laugh at that description on the product page..."several new weapons". Umm...I see ONE new weapon, plus a spear. Not exactly "several" by any stretch of the imagination.

    Canadian Eh?

Was just on toysrus.ca and all of the Pharaoh's Quest and new Police sets have disappeared! They were there all weekend but have gone 'poof' this morning. Not even a 'category listing' for PQ anymore and a search under that name brings up no results. Very odd.
  4. I find it hard to believe that 3/4 ride dragons and 1/4 doesn't...so, I'm guessing a 'fire dragon' will be coming down the pipe some time later, too. Probably 'second wave', or 'second year'.
  5. I don't know about anybody else but a) years of collecting b) yes, I've been collecting LEGO since I was four...I'm now almost 42 c) how many copies of a set I buy depends on if I really like it and whether or not it has a lot of stuff I'm looking for/can use (example...the new Pharaoh's Quest line...I'd like to snag 3 of the set with two mummies and the motorcycle d) yes, I sometimes buy 'pick-a-brick', though I don't know about 'large quantities'...though I HAVE purchased several hundred tiles at a time, here and there. (I still miss the days of buy BAGS of bricks, tiles, etc...I think it was cheaper).
  6. The fig in the blue cap wears the astronaut outfit. Remove hat, slide 'space suit' over figure.
  7. They're twins. I'm guessing they'll look exactly the same.
  8. Series One Collectible Minifigures...the black ninja came with two gold katanas. Might be a cheaper way to snag them.
  9. I wouldn't be surprised to see them just use one of those 'perfume bottles' to REPRESENT the 'ship in a bottle'...though it would be cool if they did that with a SIAB PRINT on the side.
  10. Thanks for the review, TheBrickster. Of all the new PQ sets, this was the one I was most looking forward to. Now, I'm not so sure. I had hoped that the 'bullseye' markings were printed but, alas, they are DSS. I think the bi-plane looks 'okay'...not 'great', just okay. Thanks for including shots from all angles because the box art made it look pretty awesome. Now, when you say that the prop interferes with the guns, do you mean it HITS the guns, or that the prop passes in front of them? Because, if it's the latter, that's perfectly normal...the guns were timed to shoot between the blades as they passed in front of the barrels. If it's the FORMER...well, that speaks to a major design flaw. I was looking at picking up two of these sets but, now I'm not so sure. Love the leather jacket though.
  11. Mastermind Toys BUY THREE, GET THE FOURTH FREE ~ series two minifigures USD and CDN pricing. Shipping is available. (Toronto area toy store chain where I buy almost all of my collectible minifigures.)

  14. There's another one that comes with the squid warrior, too.
  15. Expect it to be 'Disney-ed up', rather than a purely historical-looking ship though...that way, they can nail anybody who tries to copy it illegally, which is rather hard to do with a 'generic' ship.
  16. Or Luke in Endor camo.
  17. Umm...that sounds pretty awesome! I wish they had PICS!
  18. This is the age of the 'collector' and the simple fact is: NOTHING will ever be worth any great value down the road if it's 'mass produced' in any reasonable quantity. The only stuff that will be more valuable, is stuff that is strictly limited in production, preferably NUMBERED. Comic books and old toys from days gone by are valuable for one specific reason: ones in good condition are almost impossible to find, because nobody KEPT THEM in good condtion. They were read/played with/etc and then discarded. It wasn't until children from back then grew up and got nostalgic for their old comics/toys/etc and started to seek them out that those things became valuable. Now, anything and everything is seen as 'collectible' and people will hoard TONS of items, in the hopes of striking it rich. But, too many folks hold on for too long and the bubble bursts and the interest in that 'collectible' dies off, leaving speculators with a pile of stuff that is no longer even worth what they paid for it. So, basically...buy what you like...what gives you enjoyment and forget about 'collecting to make a fortune'. Odds are, it won't happen.
  19. And the car has a licence plate but the van doesn't. LOL
  20. Ogre

    Canadian Eh?

LOL! Yeah, I'm sure a lot of folks feel that way. A suburban mall would be better for that than say, the Eaton Centre. So...for ease of TTC AND car travel...LEGO should open a store in the Scarborough Town Centre! (and the fact that it would be mere MINUTES away for myself and 'prateek' doesn't influence my decision at ALL! *innocent look*)
  21. Same price as here in Canada @ TRU...for NOW, that is.
  22. Yup. Lose the "king crate", add two Anubis warriors and sell it for the same price as Castle/Kingdoms battle packs and I would have been ALL OVER it.

Ditto. It would be either a) double bus fare, or b) a bit of a walk from Steeles Ave., but either way, it would take me a lot less time than a trip to Sherway Gardens would.
  24. First of all, I would like to wish all the brickers to the south of me a VERY happy Thanksgiving. I hope you all have a wonderful day. I'm thankful for my health, my loving wife and this wonderful community.
