  1. Picked up some stuff that I can't really afford...but, it enabled me to FINALLY get my first copy of 'Target Practice'! (as well as my second. *ahem* )
  2. Two more 'Prison Carriage Rescue' sets, one more 'Escape from Dragons Prison' and FINALLYFINALLYFINALLY...two 'Target Practice' sets.

    Canadian Eh?

Was at the Sherway Gardens LEGO store this morning. No 'Brick Calendars' (BOOOO!), no catalogues (BOOOO!), but they did have this little guy: They also still have the 'Alien Conquest' battle pack in stock and MMV (for anyone still looking for a copy). Happy Canada Day weekend!

All still available via toysrus.ca Medieval Market Village Winter Toy Shop Kraken Attackin' Was just browsing the site and thought I'd post for anyone still looking for those.
  5. *snork* Love it!
  6. Most definitely! Haven't had a lot of time to do much more than build sets 'out of the box' right now but, yes, my plan is to make their home much nicer looking.
  7. I don't really see that as a problem, though. Since the Lion Knights are 'the good guys' and the Dragons are the 'invaders' (who don't even have much of a 'base of operations'), I've always pictured the Lions as having the larger force. But, maybe that's just me.
  8. *I* think it looks pretty good...and I love the pics. Nice job! (and the white spaceman 'sweating bullets' is PRICELESS! )
  9. And I worried that my six might be 'excessive'.
  10. Knights Kingdom (I & II) almost killed my love of the 'Castle' theme but, thankfully, '(Fantasy) Castle' and 'Kingdoms' have turned that attitude a complete 180! Nice read but, you really need to clean up those spelling errors. They're rather jarring. Other than that, I felt it was quite engaging. I look forward to reading more.
  11. Nice review. Love the pics. I agree that this is a great 'army builder' set. Three figs, plus horse and small cart for not even twice the current price of an 'impulse' set. Not bad. Especially when you consider that awesome looking 'Kings Knight' with the Great Helm. Sweeeeet!
  12. Nice review. Very detailed. I have this set and like it, though it's not exactly an IMPRESSIVE set. I pretty much only have it due to being a 'completist'. The better deal, IMO, is the new 'Escape from Dragons Prison' from this year's wave. Extra fig, plus horse (with barding) for two dollars less than 'Outpost Attack' (in my neck of the woods, anyway). Still, 'Outpost Attack' is a decent addition to 'Kings Castle' and nets you a nice seige weapon for the Dragons.
  13. I couldn't recall where I'd read the info, so I did a Google search on it and that Brickset quote was one of the ones that came up.

If you buy two strikers, it'll cost you $14.00CDN, vs. $15.49 for the battle pack. Four figs (2 'good guys', 2 aliens) and two little space ships vs the same number of 'soldiers' (though with some VARIATION at least) and one civilian. Personally, I think that for troop building, the 'striker' is the way to go. I'll just pick up the battle pack at some point because I'm a completist. As for the S@H promo...it added the polybag automatically and I got the free standard shipping, too. We'll see what happens though. I placed two orders and now that they have a banner, link, etc., it says ONE free set PER HOUSEHOLD. Which, let's face it, is TOTALLY bogus, especially since we couldn't ever purchase it here in Canada and secondly, I placed my orders before there was even a banner/link/notice...PLUS...when I placed my second order, THEIR SYSTEM added it automatically. So, I should get both. Personally, I think that what you did is the smart way to go...gets you those cute little ships. Besides, who needs an army of those dorky-looking businessmen, anyway? I would have rather they added another alien soldier, or even just the 'brain sucker' alien. Would have made the battle pack MUCH cooler, IMO.

No indication on their page right now but, LEGO S@H has 30062 'Target Practice' as a 'free gift' with purchase over $75 and free standard shipping. No 'button' to click...gift is added automatically when your cart hits $75 and the standard shipping is set as the default choice. Again, I saw NO indications of this on their site...no banners, no "spend 'x' dollars more to earn your free gift"...nothing. Thanks to "Toys 'N' Bricks" for the heads-up on this one. Oh, and the 'Alien Conquest' battle pack is already sold out. Total bummer.
  16. Thanks for reminding me about those polybags! LOL Totally forgot about THAT 'lack'. Well, I'll have the 'Target Practice' polybag soon enough, thanks to the LEGO promotion for July (WOOHOO!). I'll have to Bricklink the other though, since I don't think it ever landed here in North America. By the 'Dragon General', are you referring to the mounted knight from the 'Escape from Dragon Prison'? Because if so, I have two of those, too (though, you can't see them well from that pic...one is in front of the Dragons Prison Tower and the other is on the lower shelf with the Battle Pack troops and an extra Prison Carriage Rescue horse & carriage.
  17. Decided that my 'Kingdoms' sets needed a display space until I get around to doing a PROPER set-up for them... Not a super-large collection by any stretch but, it WILL be added to, as money allows, since I really like this theme. Due to the narrowness of the shelf, the castle is not fully connected. The wall/tower sections are merely placed behind the front wall for photographic/display purposes May not be able to tell very well (especially for the Dragons) but, the entire line is there, including the figures (but not accessories right now) from the Advent Calendar, as well as (the figs from) two 'Escape from Dragons Prison' sets, two complete 'Prison Carriage Rescue' sets, two 'Knight's Showdown' sets, two (one complete, one figs, buckets and chicken only) 'Blacksmith Attack' sets and four Battle Packs of each faction.,
  18. I'm currently working on getting my house re-organized, etc., so I don't have a large amount of LEGO "out on display" at any given time. A small amount is 'housed' on bookshelves right now (one dedicated to Star Wars, one to 'Kingdoms', another is a mix of SW, Toy Story, City, etc.) and I have a 4'x4' sheet of particle board resting on top of a small table in my basement that is currently home to a 'City' layout. I'm hoping to, in the future, have small areas dedicated to a specific theme...one area for Star Wars, one for Castle, one for City and one for Pirates. We'll see how that turns out.
  19. On Brickset: "Lego have announced that by 2012 lego batman will return along with the original sets and new sets." Sooooooooo, don't know if it'll be ALL of the original sets but, it definitely seems to hint at the chance of at least SOME of them. *still crossing fingers for a re-release of wave 3*
  20. I've done that SEVERAL TIMES already. She still complains. THAT can't be said often enough! I mean, think about it...even if he bought each of those clones for $1, no shipping...that's over TEN GRAND just in MINIFIGS!
  21. Very disappointed with the minifig selection for this set. Makes a 'Flying Dutchman' set seem less likely.
  22. I always loved the Warp Wing Fighter. I refer to that as "LEGO's first x-wing". Liked it so much when it came out, I bought four of them.
  23. I don't recall where I read it but, SUPPOSEDLY, LEGO will be re-releasing 'Batman' in 2012, including new sets as well as re-releasing "all of the original Batman sets". Now, I don't know if that means just the FIRST wave, or the second and third waves, as well. Crossing fingers for third wave too, since I missed ALL of those due to how fast those buggers flew off the shelves around here!
