Nice! That sort of thing is exactly why I can't wait for a LEGO store to open here!

Tantive IV LEGO Wallet 2x4 Brick Coin Bank Minifigure pattern Umbrella Monster 4 game Minifigure pattern playing cards
-
Ordered the Tantive IV, as well as some other non-SW stuff. Clicked the button for 'add free item to order' and the code showed up in the box but, no mention of the ARF trooper on my invoice and it's now ten hours later and I still haven't received my order confirmation email. *edit* Called S@H and yup, fig is on my order and poster ships automatically. Nice lady said my order is still 'open' and I should receive my email within 24 hours of when I placed my order. So...we wait. *edit 2* Order confirmation just showed up and includes ARF Trooper. *edit 3* Just got an email stating that my Tantive IV is backordered until May 22! WTF?!?!?! I added that to my cart as soon as it hit the sale page and it was still available after I placed my order (I was still on the site looking around). That's totally bogus!

Yup. I laugh at that every time I see a pic of the sailor. Rather silly mistake. -
Yup...supposed to be good for the whole month of May but, I tried the code on S@H this morning and was told "code is not valid". Awaiting an email response from S@H staffers as to 'why not'.

When did your collection reach critical mass?

Did *I* write this?!?!?! Seriously...get out of my head. -
Aw, 5am isn't so bad. THREE in the morning would be bad.

Yeah, THAT particular line tends to irk the daylights out of me! Who defines what is 'grown up'? Why should I stop having fun with something I love, simply because of my biological age? And, really, how SERIOUSLY BORING are most of the folks who tell you to 'grow up'? I've found that most of the ones who say that to me, are guys who think that 'a good time' means hanging out at a pub and getting rip-roaring drunk, OR they're gals who think that all of a man's "extra" income should be spent on buying "pretty things" for his wife or girlfriend. All I can say is: THANK GOODNESS MY WIFE DOESN'T FEEL THAT WAY! (cuz I'd miss her)

Which stickers? The ones from last year's "May 4th" event? If so, yeah, I haven't seen those floating around, either. Of course, I don't REALLY mind, since I snagged two of them myself...as well as that sweet deal on the Falcon. Last year, it was slated to start at midnight, eastern time, IIRC. So, I'd say that if you're worried about 'missing out', then perhaps 'staying up' is your best option.

I've checked the 'sales and deals' page many times (often, multiple times in an HOUR) and have seen 'sale' items suddenly appear, listed as 'sold out'...and I know QUITE WELL that they NEVER hit that 'sale' page as 'available'. I don't know what's up with that but, it really irks me...especially when it's for an item that hasn't been available for some time (and yes, I've witnessed that, too...so, no, it's not just you fred67).

"...cannot be combined with any other offer..." Which is a drag, because I was hoping for a free ice cube tray, too...as well as that "buy two, get one free" offer on Star Wars keychains.
-
Isn't that weird? Throw the word "collectable" in front of something and all of a sudden, most folks understand the appeal of it...YET...if you just tell them "I collect...", they think you're nuts and wasting your money. What's up with THAT? LOL!

For anyone near Toronto, Canada: Mastermind Toys is supposed to have POTC sets available in store and online TODAY! -
I wouldn't be surprised to see PoP sets pop up during S@H's sale on May 3 & 4. The sets aren't exactly "heavy movers" (despite being great sets, IMO) and it would be a perfect 'unexpected appearance', so to speak. BTW...for those in the Toronto, Canada area: Mastermind Toys has announced their annual warehouse sale. They don't usually have a MASSIVE selection of LEGO, but it's usually not too bad. In my experience, their sale prices on LEGO tend to be 20% to 30% off MSRP...sometimes more. Dates: 25 May at 09:00 - 01 June at 17:00 Location: 415 Milner Avenue, Toronto, ON (just east of Markham Rd.) The Hours of the Sale Are: Wednesday May 25th - 9am-8pm Thursday May 26th - 9am - 8pm Friday May 27th - 9am - 8pm Saturday May 28th - 9am-6pm Sunday May 29th - 11am-5pm Monday May 30th - 10am-5pm Tuesday May 31st - 10am - 5pm Wednesday June 1st - 10am-5pm June 1st is DEAL DAY! Also, they are running a contest: win a chance to shop for an hour BEFORE the sale starts! (which is GREAT for LEGO fans, since the LEGO sets tend to sell out FAST...don't expect any to be around on 'deal day') Check out their website or Facebook page for more details.

Well, THAT blows! Costs more per fig than CMFs! BTW...for those in the Toronto area, you might be interested in this post: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10116&view=findpost&p=978297 Also...for those looking for POTC sets: according to Mastermind Toys' newsletter, they are supposed to be available at Mastermind Toys TODAY! =)

What minifigs are we missing - post your detailed suggestions here

I wasn't too keen on the second flick but, the first one I REALLY liked. Have watched it AT LEAST a dozen times on DVD. -

I don't understand why so many people seem to be so disappointed that the POTC sets haven't arrived in their area yet. They will, soon. On top of that, they'll probably go on sale not too long after they're generally available, so...what's the rush? They'll be around for AT LEAST a year, with various sales along the way, I'm sure. So, why's everybody in such a rush to "buy them all!" all full MSRP? -

Had a similar idea as another member here (though they beat me to it): turn 'punk rocker' into 'metal head'. Swapped-out the punk's head and hair for the head of the hockey player and the hair of the earlier pop singer figure. Final product looks quite excellent and I knew I had a hit when my wife looked at it and said "He looks like Dave Mustaine" (lead singer/guitarist of Megadeth). -
I'm hoping to be at the grand opening, too. IF I can manage to shoehorn my butt out of bed at an early enough hour, since that's a long haul across the city by transit. I hope that minifig collection is worth the effort. Anyone know if it's "Toronto specific", or is it just the same set that's been used elsewhere for other grand openings?

Ditto. LOL! LEGO has been feeding off my wallet quite extensively lately and it doesn't appear that they'll be letting up any time soon. -
Hit my local Wal-Mart the other day and picked up 7950 (Knight's Showdown) for $7 and Magikus for $5. They also had the Prison Carriage Rescue on for $12. I'm thinking I should have snagged that, too, even though I already have one. LOL

According to Brickset, I have 1931 minifigures. Not sure how accurate it is though, since it also says I have 1012 sets (662 different) but, they only have piece counts for 536 of them. I don't know if the minifigures from the OTHER sets are included, or not. *edit* 400th post!

I'm pretty much the same way, though I stopped 'hiding' my love of LEGO in my late teens. If a clerk asks if a set is for a child, I respond with "Yup. My INNER child!" LOL LOL! I hear ya! For folks who know me even passing-well, it's "heavy metal, fantasy and LEGO"...and not in that order. That was the same for myself and the missus on Saturday at a local Wal-Mart. We were there for a while and an employee came by "to see if we needed any help with anything"...then a while later, another employee. This one asked questions and ended up talking to us for quite some time, utterly FASCINATED that there was this huge 'underground' interest in LEGO. As we kept feeling the bags (there were six boxes to go through), more people started showing up, including parents with kids who asked things like "how do you know what you're getting?", etc. By the time we left, there were about a half-dozen folks "feeling-up" the bags. LOL *edit* I'm wondering: are there any other folks here who used to have MANY hobbies and it's been whittled down to pretty much just LEGO now? I ask, because that's how it is with me. I used to be 'into' many things such as collecting comics; collecting/building/painting Warhammer and Warhammer 40K figs, etc.; collecting action figures; building/painting car models; etc., etc...but, now, pretty much all of that stuff has fallen to the wayside and the money/time/energy that used to be devoted to that stuff is now pretty much solely devoted to our favourite little plastic bricks. I figure that at least SOME of that is due to just how awesome LEGO sets have become since getting past that horrible '<insert that tiresome argument>' period and now there are more and more sets that I want to snag (not to mention the CMF craze!) but, I'm just curious if anyone else is going through this, too? And, if so, to what do you attribute the change?

Pretty much everybody who has known me for any reasonable length of time knows that I'm totally 'into' LEGO. Family, friends, co-workers... I don't keep it a secret. Quite the opposite. Some folks think I'm weird. Some think I'm nuts. I don't care. IMO, it's no different than folks being into NASCAR, sports, gardening, or stamp collecting (except that *I* think that MY hobby is more interesting than those!). I fly the flag and preach 'the gospel of the brick' to anyone who'll listen. LOL Absolutely! I'm an adult, it's MY money and I'll do with it as I please! And as to the underlined: *big thumbs up* I used to do that sort of thing when I was 16-19 years old. It was so boring, I could barely stand it. Finally got fed up, stopped 'hanging out' with that group and started spending the money (that I had been wasting on booze and cover charges) on LEGO again.
