  1. My pleasure. I was starting to worry that we (NA) were going to miss out on that set! I would have been rather bummed. No idea about the magnets, sorry. As for the polybags...though I LOVE 30062, it's not like I DON'T want a squadron (or two...or three) of those jetpack ADU soldiers flying around...
  2. Ogre

    Canadian Eh?

New item available @ Sherway: CMF gift wrap, #853240 Oh, and that key chain I posted earlier? LEGO's D2C line of 'Destination' key chains. Should be popping up all over the globe.
  3. I don't know about that. The SSD wasn't even shown on the "May the Fourth" promo poster...
  4. Agree and agree! That would be very cool. A 'one-off' with some of the buildings that were missing in the original series would be really nice.
  5. Ogre

    Canadian Eh?

I'm not going to say 'yes' until I can actually make it back out to Sherway and make sure they still have the key chain (I live at the other end of the city). I'll see what I can do though.
  6. My 'chromed gold' was sent June 13 and after being caught in the Canada Post rotating strikes and lock-out, I finally received both replacement packs on July 5. I have to say, it makes the 'pearl gold' look soooooooooo lame!
  7. Yeah, there's just something about the 'Target Practice' polybag...it's the only polybag set that I just HAD TO HAVE. Weird. Anyway...I don't mind the ADU polybag. It's not great but, it's not horrible, either...and I MUCH PREFER the lower 'purchase price', as well. Makes the long trip to the LEGO store a little less painful.
  8. Not Madoka but: from my experience, PAB always takes a little longer than a 'normal' order but, it's always arrived and only once was it short (2 dark grey baseplates instead of 4, which they quickly corrected after a phone call).
  9. The first LEGO set I ever got that blew my mind, made me dream and wonder, was 918 from the now-classic Space line. As such, I have a HUGE soft spot for Classic Space. BUT...my ideas as to 'best theme ever' can fluctuate greatly, depending on my mood. So many to love... (in no particular order) Town/City Pirate/Pirates/POTC Classic Castle/Castle/Kingdoms (KK & KK2 can go hang!) Star Wars Prince of Persia Wild West Adventurers/Pharaoh's Quest Batman Indiana Jones Spider-man Studios Collectable Minifigures Modular The list could go on and on...
  10. THAT would be stellar. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening.
  11. Will definitely have to snag a copy of that Post Office!
  12. I hope I put this topic in the right place. Got this on Saturday, haven't seen it mentioned, so I thought I'd post. Apologies in advance if this is a repeat post. Aug calendar front Aug calendar back
  13. Hmm...good question. Umm...I'm GUESSING that I have maybe 25% of mine 'on display' (and I'm definitely 'guessing' on that) out of over 2000 figs. MAYBE as much as 33.33% but, I don't think it's quite that high.
  14. In that photo were the OLD gold coins that were incorrectly sent with pearl-gold jumper bricks as 'replacement parts' to that member. In that set, if you check the parts listing at the back of the instructions, should be two 'packs' of gold...so, eight coins and two gold bars...though most members report getting ten coins in that set, myself included.
  15. I dislike the fact that there seems to be more to this ship than to the 'Mothership' but, that's a failing of the 'Mothership' set, not this one. Nice review.
  16. Wasn't too impressed with this when I saw first pics but, after reading this review and seeing the associated pics, I think it'll be added to the 'must get' list.
  17. Great review. Love the last pic! My complaints about this set: 1) too sparse on the minifigs...more required for the set size and price 2) ship is WAY too small for a 'mothership'...lose some of the 'open air' and expand the cockpit size An 'alien mothership' is supposed to be where all the other alien vehicles are carried and disembark from. Obviously, there is NO WAY IN HECK that's going to happen with THIS dinky little ship. Very disappointing. Love the figs though.
  18. Nice looking ship...BUT...if you're going for an overall 'snot' look, you should definitely do something about the exposed studs on top of the windscreen. Those and the exposed studs on the printed slope below the windscreen front are very jarring to the eye. Oh, and you might want to swap-out that one discoloured grey piece on the forward section. Other than that, quite nice.
  19. Not only that but, with all the blue, it harkens back to Classic Space, too. Nice to see WH40K in LEGO. It's a licence that I always hoped LEGO would be able to do but, I just don't see it happening.
  20. Thanks for the review. Some nice fig pics. I just wish you had included a poll. Sooooooo looking forward to getting this set. IMO, it's one of the best of the year. Total throwback to the 'Classic Space' era, with regard to style, colour, etc., but, IMO, it actually SURPASSES many of those classic sets! (I can't believe I just said that!)
  21. Don't know if you want them for the front page, or not: Also, if anyone is interested: all human minifigs in this pack have double-sided heads and torso printing. The civilians torso has a nice 'pinstripe' pattern. Downer: one of the soldiers is the same guy from the 'Alien Striker' set. I only have these two, so I don't know if he shows up in any other sets in the line. I'll have to check out the reviews. Oh, and the price on the Battle Pack is in Canadian dollars, from the Toronto LEGO store. *edit* Also, in case anyone was wondering: no, I didn't notice any of the problems that were associated with the Kingdoms Battle Packs. No loose grips, legs, etc. and the printing/colours seem to be 'spot on'. **edit 2** Another downer: after reading some more reviews in this forum, the civilian is the same one from the 'Tripod Invader' set. Bummer. Bad call LEGO! Should have ditched the civvy from this set and included two 'brain suckers' instead! ***edit 3*** Second ADU soldier is the same as the one that comes with the 'Alien Defender' set. So, no 'unique' figs in this set at all.
  22. New to this thread and just tried to click on this review: 7066 Earth Defence HQ [Review]. Problem is, it took me to the review for the 'Alien Mothership' set. Just so you know.
  23. Great little set. Two cool minifigs and a spiffy little flyer for $6.99CDN. I can totally live with that. Since CMFs go for $3.49 here, the price is rather like getting the ship for free. IMO, this is quite definitely an 'army builder' set, especially if you can snag these during a 'BOGO 50% off' sale. I think this will end up being one of the most popular sets from the line, too. Just think about an 'alien invasion' with all of these little ships zipping around, causing havoc! I already have six of these sets and I have the feeling that anytime I have a couple of extra bucks, I'll be picking up more.
  24. That sort of thing still boggles my mind. When I was a kid, you ONLY got toys for Christmas, your birthday and MAYBE for a really special occassion such as graduating to the next grade in school, or some such thing. There were NO 'normal day' purchases of toys amongst any of the kids *I* knew...not even the 'rich kids'. They might have the ENTIRE COLLECTION of something but, they got it for Christmas, or birthday, just like the rest of us.
  25. Ogre

    Canadian Eh?

I don't know if it's a 'regular stock' item, or a special promo but, I saw quite a pile of them. I think it's pretty sweet. With that massive 'tag', it's almost like two key chains in one, for the same price as any other minifig key chain ($5.49CDN).
