Still no catalogue, etc., for me.
-
Funny thing is, a local toy store had TONS of them in stock and couldn't move them, even at 25%. I'm really kicking myself that I didn't snag more than one.
-
Just wondering: any of my fellow Canucks STILL not received their summer 2011 catalogue, or their latest issue of 'Club' magazine? Canada Post is REALLY starting to get on my last friggin' nerve.

Eurobricks Spaghetti Western Competition
Ogre replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Wow. I don't think I've ever seen quite so much leeway in a contest before. Very cool. Sweet fig, too. -
I was thinking something small and exclusive to the line, like a newspaper vendor with printed tiles like in the summer Club mag...'newspapers' showcasing the invasion, etc. Heck, throw that into a set with an ADU mech and I think it's a winner.

I have some pics over in the 'show your army' thread. Not recently updated, unfortunately. And...I NEVER assume with 'reasonable'. LOL Just take a look at some of the armies posted on here and you quickly understand why that is.
-
I don't know why they don't make more 'army builder' type sets. They'd be huge sellers, I'm sure. I disagree with you on one point though...I think kids would really like the jester fig, but...why 'waste' him and the wizard in impulse sets, when they would have been so much better in a decent set? (Think 'Drawbridge Defense' from the 'Castle' line) Toss the jester/fool into the King's Castle to amp up the 'must buy' factor and do the same with the wizard in the Prison Tower. Keep the impulse sets for figs that folks will buy MULTIPLES of. Make it good enough and folks will fall all over themselves to snag them.

I certainly hope there will be a third wave for Kingdoms! I'm still waiting for LEGO to get it right with the impulse sets in this theme and now's their chance. 1) Make an impulse set similar to 'Target Practice' for the Lions, but make it a foot soldier and equip with bow & quiver, as well as a spear (so you can buy a TRUCK LOAD of them and have archers, or spear levy). 2) Do the same for the Dragons. 3) Lion impulse set: Knight on horseback (similar to knight from Dragons Prison Tower), with lance and pennants, sword, kite shield & great helm. (need a cheap source of Lions heavy cavalry to compete with the 'Escape from Dragons Prison' set) How fast do you think THOSE puppies would sell out? I'd be so broke, my wife would divorce me!

Oh, you just made me feel so very old.

Absolutley. I'd also like to see some additional 'civilian' elements put into play, like what's shown in the latest 'Club' magazine. Sort of like the old Spider-man sets. Give a little something to 'set the scene' instead of it JUST being the alien ships and human defenders.
-
The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the "Defence Archer" from...KK1? (I wish I had snagged more than two of THOSE) Sweet set! Explains why I don't remember it...'dark age'. *sigh*
-
You just said "quick", not "reasonable". I'm hoping to make it out for the public day, if possible.

For the price of that set, they should have given you SIX!

*cough* Bricklink set #30061. *cough*

Long time metalhead here. Though I listen to a wide range of music, from classical to thrash metal, my 'love' is metal, through and through. Fave bands include (but are not limited to): Testament, Overkill, Accept, Metal Church, Megadeth, (old) Metallica, Pantera, Motorhead, Anthrax, Armoured Saint, (old) Exodus, Death Angel, Forbidden, Warlock, White Zombie/Rob Zombie, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Dio, Manowar, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, (old) Queensryche, Crimson Glory, AC/DC... I could go on and on but, I'm sure you get the idea. Didn't stand the test of time very well?!?!?!?! Dear Lord, I certainly hope you're kidding. You've definitely got your finger on the pulse of the classics. (well, okay, so I wouldn't call 'Weezer' "classic" but, the others...) Holy heck! Haven't heard that name since...geez, the late '80s, or early '90s!

Well, he STARTED OFF 'good'...THEN turned 'evil'...then returned to the 'good' side, so...yeah, sure, why not.

Well, it WAS made available through Target stores in the U.S.A., as one of their 'exclusives'. Still wasn't easy to track down in some areas though. My FIL was looking on my behalf when he'd cross the border and he never managed to find any. But, that's okay...I've managed to amass 26 of the little beauties now (paid for 20 and scored 6 for free), so I'm quite happy. Back on topic though: I'm really glad the price for the free ADU set is only $35. Won't be such a kick to the pocketbook...though, I wish they'd just SELL them.

I got mine from Sherway yesterday (Saturday). I guess I didn't describe properly...I have all of the BRICKS...it's just that the "23" appears to somehow have been missed in the printing process. I checked my other one and it's fine. At first, I thought I might have just missed it, due to a brick being turned, or my thumb in the way, or some such thing but, alas, no such luck. Not a big deal though. If I can't get a replacement, I'll just use some 'rub on' numbers. I've got scads of those things, so I'm sure I can find one with a similar type-face.

You're welcome. I'd love to see a return of the Kingdom battle packs, too (with all previous 'issues' resolved, of course). For some reason, this 'Kingdoms' line has me REALLY wanting to do some serious army building...not that I can AFFORD any "serious army building", but, that's beside the point.
-
Unfortunately, what I wrote is all I know. I didn't really think to ask any more questions about them, because I had them in my hot little hands.
-
Bought two of these today and built one tonight...only to find that it's missing the "23" brick!!!! NOT happy. Production #311B1 (stamped under the barcode), in case anyone is interested. Have written to LEGO to see if I can get missing parts sent out.

2 Brick Calendars 3 D2C 'Destination' key chains 1 Kingdoms 'Queen' (She's NOT a Princess, regardless of what LEGO lists it as!) key chain 1 Knights Showdown 22 Target Practice 1 CMF gift wrap *edit* Just built one of those Brick Calendars (#853195) and it's missing the "23" brick.

Very nice set. Looking forward to picking it up. One complaint though: I wish they'd stick to ONE STYLE of street lamp in these sets.
-
Sorry, forgot to include that. It's $3.49, plus tax (of course).
