Maybe his set was manufactured during a 'change over' period...the coins had been changed but, the bars hadn't? Just spit-balling ideas.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeell...there is one theory flying around out there which speculates that the 'lost continent' of Atlantis is buried under the ice of Antarctica, so...

*head slap* OMG. Well, I guess that'll teach me to build when overly-tired. LOL Thanks for the heads up!

Just wondering why the battle pack for the red & white 'Kingdoms' faction isn't listed, even though the Dragons battle pack is?
-
This is probably my favourite set of the new wave, even though I don't care for the structure that is included. The great thing is though (as was stated in the review), this is an 'army builder' set, for sure...and the 'meh' structure is a great 'parts pack' for adding on to the Dragon's little fortress from wave one, or some similar type of thing. I've already picked up two and I can see myself getting at least a few more (on sale, of course). This set is definitely a case of 'the parts being greater than the whole' and I would highly recommend any Castle/Kingdoms fans to pick this up.

Absolutely! Play 'mix and match' with faces, etc. and you could end up with quite a pile of peasants.

Rather late to the party but: great review of a great set. Though I purchased my GE when it first came out, I only got around to building it this weekend (pauses for gasps of shock and horror to subside). When doing the top floor assembly, I found that I was short TEN 1x2 dark tan plates (the ones that make the distinctive 'stripe' on the walls). So, I contacted S@H. They're sending me the replacements. Very cool. So, I went back to see if there was any way I could complete the model, instead of having it sit there for the next two weeks, waiting for the parts...and that's when I noticed it...I wasn't actually SHORT the parts...they were in a different colour! Instead of the dark tan they were supposed to be, the remaining parts were in LIGHT tan! Anybody else run into this? See below. (and yes, *I* changed the baseplate, it came with tan, not dark bley)

It WAS listed under 'hard to find' but, from what 'Toys 'N' Bricks' posted on Facebook, it's now sold out. *edit* Just looked for myself and yes, it's now sold out. *edit 2*...just wondering what Dirk goes for now that he's won a championship?

Not listed under 'sales and deals' but... 7684 "Pig Farm & Tractor" is available on S@H for $11.48US, $14.99CDN! Original price on this set was $49.99, discounted to $24.99 after Christmas.

I really like this set. The animals and minifigs are great. BUT... For the price, I think a bit more 'detail' could have been tossed into the mix, such as some fences, a cow, or two...heck, even a couple of the old 'tree stump' pieces to represent the 'clearing of the land'. *shrug* I don't know...it's a very nice set and as I said, I DO like it...I just think that with a little more thought and effort, it could have been EVEN BETTER.

Nice review. Personally, I think the overall set is 'meh'. Nothing fantastic, though it has some great ELEMENTS to it. Most notable: blacksmith figure, chicken & bucket. Now, even though it's not FANTASTIC, it IS still good enough that I broke down and bought two.

I'd love to see a run of modular buildings done in a WW fashion. Take a look at any western movie set in a decent sized town and you can see that there would be a wealth of buildings to choose from. Just dreaming, I know but, it WOULD be cool.

Well, that's pretty stupid, considering what July's promo is. Sheesh. Just about killed all my purchase ideas. Crap. *edit* Talked to a super helpful lady at the SG store last night. 'Kingdoms' is still in stock. Nothing has disappeared, they just took stuff off display, to make room for the 'Cars 2' displays. She said that for July, the 'Kingdoms' display would be expanded (probably due to the promotion). *breathing sigh of relief* *edit 2* Has anyone else noticed the price for "Pig Farm & Tractor" on S@H? $14.99!!! In case you don't recall, it was selling for $49.99 and went on sale for $24.99. So, if you were 'on the fence' about this, it might be a great time to pick it up.

Is it just me, or is TRU Canada getting INCREDIBLY LAME with their sales? Where's the "buy three, get 25%" sales and the "30% off" sales?? Most everything now is 20% (at best) or BOGO 50%...which is usually on stuff that I don't WANT two of the same set, so the discount ends up being TOTALLY garbage.

I'm looking at 'City of Atlantis' as well. Thinking that Barnes & Noble is the way to go, after the killer deal I got on 'Kings Castle' ($80...including tax & shipping, after 30% off coupon). New tagline?
-
Total drag. I was really hoping for some Anubis warrior impulse sets, or battle packs.
-
Would be sweet. And the other elements (jousting, etc.,) could be released as individual sets for the theme, rather than one large set. Doubtful that they'd do that for "Kingdoms" though, since the 'good guys' castle has already been released.

I just called the customer service number listing for Canada.
-
That would not upset me.

Nice review. I never had a lot of M-Tron, just the first two sets in your review, but I always liked the look of them. Alas, I don't even have those two sets anymore, since I sold them off during my 'dark age'.

After building all of my new Kingdoms sets last week, I have to say: LEGO has really raised the bar on the quality of their 'Castle' themed minifigure prints! Wow, wow, wow! So much better than 'the old days' where we got insignia stuck on the middle of the chest and that was it. These Kingdoms figs are GORGEOUS! And, I have to say, the new additions to the line make me appreciate the Advent Calendar that much more and now, I think I'll have to agree with the folks out there who state that it's better than 7979. I really hope this theme sticks around for a while. It would be nice to see LEGO ADD to it, instead of REPLACING it. *fingers crossed*

James Cameron is working on Avatar 2 & 3 right now, so it's not a far-fetched idea for a licensing tie-in. I've yet to see the first one though, so I can't say whether that would be a good thing, or not.

Called LEGO yesterday about the 'dull gold'. Very helpful fellow knew exactly what I was talking about and was worried that they weren't in stock. He checked...lo and behold, they WERE in stock! So, two packs of metallized gold should be arriving here in 7-10 business days. I've said it before, I'll say it now and I'll probably say it again: LEGO's customer service is THE BEST I've ever dealt with. No matter what my 'issue' happens to be, they always resolve it quickly and leave me one happy LEGO freak.

The chrome daggers came on a sprue, also. Set of two.

Just wrote to LEGO about this issue this morning, since I got the bland 'un-shiny' gold in my "Isla de la Muerta" set. Hadn't come across this thread before, so major props and thanks to "Big Cam" for having the link in his siggy, which grabbed my attention. Okay, this just caused me some concern. I had no idea there was an 'issue' with the dress in IFS...my set, though purchased quite a while ago, is still sitting in its box. So, I just opened it and poured out the contents...included a 'packed loose' dress piece. Compared it to the one 'sealed in bag' and I see what you mean. Nice to see they fixed it before I bought it though, since I'm pretty certain LEGO is getting quite tired of hearing from me lately.
