  1. great job as usual deG, the sea wall looks great and the details are fantastic. I particularly like the roof. Can't wait to see where you are going with the story! Rego Amancio will have to double the patrols of the Garra within the City!
  2. Great job Kai! I especially like the roof of the white building and the chest inside it. I have notices that canals are tough to photograph as they sit lower than most everything else.
  3. Love this polybag, the hood, mushroom, leaf, elven bow, great torso and the goblet! I just ordered a couple from TRU and will stop by the store later to check if they are in stock there
  4. Got about 75% of my Varlyrio build done. Actually I want to hurry up and finish it because i have another idea for Varlyrio I want to start on. Don't worry I will work in some Avalonians into so I can some Free build points!
  5. I had been lurking for years looking at some great MOC and slowly picking up bricks I thought would be useful for Castle builds from PAB walls when I traveled if I ever took the plunge into MOCing. I am so glad I did, the progress I feel I made is great and the ideas and techniques the Guild has provided from tons of users has definitely helped push me along.
  6. While I joined a couple weeks after GoH started, it is hard to believe it has been a year already! before I joined, I had never created or posted a MOC before. now, because of the guilds I have built 23 and still have a quite a few ideas not to mention the new friendships that have develped online. One day, I hope to get to a lego event and met some of you in person. while I know challege VI is supposed to be the last official guild challenge, I hope GoH is active for several years to come! Mikey
  7. the use of the fig and the border is no problem. As to the free points, I am not sure the contest count toward free build points but I am sure the mods or Z will be able to answer that.
  8. I know they sell lego at the Post Exchange on base so I would say no Lego store in your area is more of a business decision than a political one.
  9. Looked again at my Varlyrio vignette build and I have 6 1x1 round bricks that are held together very solid with a 1 x tile on one end and a 1 x plate on the other. I imagine I could stretch that to 7 or 8 1x1 bricks and still remain fairly stable. I used black with a couple Dark grey thrown in.
  10. i like the color mix and I think it works well. As to the roof. If you run a 1 x plate across every few stacks of 1x1 rounds it will help stabilize it.
  11. again thanks for all positive comments. I am sure some of you may have heard me say this in the past but I really enjoy building the little details. In fact most by builds start with a small detail build or what they call at Lego Headquarters a "springboard piece" as I read in a Lego Magazine. I then typically try to buld around those ideas or mini builds to build up the bigger scene. This build started with the statue head and the tree (albeit not that small) and then I built the watch tower and worked on a tent design. The chicken coop was sort of a last minute addition but I like it. Thanks again
  12. Great Start. I have been working on my "ministry of Trade" moc it is slow going right now but I hope to get it up soon!
  13. when posting in the Avalonia thread, I somehow skipped your Challenge V build. but then I remembered commenting on it before the "crash" I really like the tower and the details you put into the build. especially the clothes line and wash board ;)
  14. How did I forget LD with his awesome tower! well that is six for round 5 for Avalonia!
  15. Looks like we had five entries (unless i missed someone. Myself Rougeang de Gothia Strybjorn Z Did I miss someone?
  16. Great stuff and you set the bar high! I have to admit I have been stalking your flickr feed for a couple days waiting on this to show up! So much to see. The rocks, the waterfall, the temples, the bridges the landscaping, the humor. This will be another guild win if not GoH win me thinks! Good job!
  17. Great build. the lighting really adds to the mood. Makes one want to know what is down the tunnel where the red glow is coming from!
  18. Looks good! The facade of the building looks really good. photos could use some work but I understand working to meet a deadline!
  19. Great stuff Rouge! You can definitely see your elven style showing through. Lots of nice details and I really like the great fire and the tower is wonderful in itself. good luck
  20. anyone else continually refreshing this forum page to see if any more awesome MOC have turned up? Can't wait to see them all. Mikey
  21. At this time, there are no members of this guild. But anyone can build a MOC here. If you want to create a character along with a background for a build that is fine. But this guild wont get free build points or anything of that sort. There is a competition that ends mid December. Find the thread with details here Show your current sigfig or character from your guild in the build somehow and looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
  22. Great Tutorial Z, glad to see how you made that great tower. I will have to put these parts on my "to buy" list for BL so I can try to replicate it in the future. Thanks again Mikey
  23. wonderful build and I too will say that is one of the best waterfalls I have seen. the rock face, the columns the entry to the Cavern the statues and the forge; love it all! great work Torgar and definitely set a high bar for all the entries!
  24. thanks there were a lot of finicky details! I have always struggled with my bases, definately something I want to improve on. the green thing is a bed roll on the top bunk. I will add a photo of the bunk area, they do look like tables from the overhead view. I had messed around with the tan ends but didn't have enough so I went with the brown ones. Then I saw Buurli Burri palisade and knew I should have made a bricklink order for them sadly I was worried I would not get them on time he is one feisty horse. I think if I would have photographed it from the other side of the horse it would have looked more like a blacksmith shoeing a horse. Thanks again for everyone's comments.
  25. I really like the way the serpent twist. gives the build some "action" if you know what I mean
