  1. add me to the list of "likes" I am a big fan of everyday life vignettes like these as well. the base is great and like others have said, the minifig is perfect.
  2. welcome back (again) Beery! quite the army you have there, I wonder what your entire collection must look like!
  3. I think it still open, although Nocturnous is in need of active members. I say take inventory of your bricks, create your sigfig and start creating!
  4. Thanks for all the comments. Hope to see your ambush build as well soon. This build is more a prequel to the challenge VI challenge and not a direct part of the story. I love him too! Was a great surprise to receive him! I tend to think about shooting my builds like a comic book is presented. (close ups, medium shots, overalls) seems to work well especially for this build, the foliage was very finicky and I kept knocking leaves off! And it does look like he is about to shoot that guy in the back. In reality, it is just the camera angle and he is clear. I was trying to show a guy hiding behind the truck of the tree ready to pop out to take a shot
  5. Seems to be the day for posting Avalonian Freebuilds so here is one more Ambushed!
  6. "Keep those conscripts moving, Ogl! You don’t want to be upsetting Revolword!” yelled Gramil, the Hand of Corruption captain. “I don’t like this forest! Smells of Avalonians!” he whispered to his lieutenant, Huld, who strode next to him. “And I don’t trust that Orc.” “Keep your eyes open Uyek,” Gramil shouted to the Orc leading the party. “I feel like I can’t breathe and this damn forest is closing in around me,” Gramil continued. “I don’t like it either, but with the rumors that some of the supply convoys being attacked and harassed on the main roads, we have to take these back ones to get these conscripts to the Master,” replied Huld. Gramil raised his voice, “It’s too damn quiet as well, nothing but the sound of some birds! Give me the hustle and bustle of a city any day!” The sound of a crow answered almost in reply, “Caw-caw-caw” “CAW-CAW” echoed another crow. “What was that?” asked Huld. But his only reply was the twang of bowstrings as Lord Arlindus and his Phoenix Guard heard the crow signal and sprung their trap! More photo can be seen here. As always comments and critics welcomed!
  7. You never cease to impress. I love the roof and the colors of this build. Can't wait to see what you will have up your sleeve for Challenge VI mikey
  8. my bad, I missed it somehow. PM sent!
  9. Felt like I needed to build something for Avalonia since my last three builds were for Varlyrio, so I put together a quick prequel to my Challenge VI. The light is fading here right now but I hope I can get it up tomorrow.
  10. Welcome Eremir, As your neighbor to the East we encourage you to visit Lord Arlindus of Circardia. Lord Arlindus' father Orthus has a long relationship with many of the Elven Clans in the Enchanted forest and we have enjoyed a long and prosperous relationship with one another. We have a small logging and fishing village on the banks of the inland lake, perhaps that would be a good spot to set up trade within the Enchanted forest. Mike
  11. Another sighting at Toys r Us. This one in Charleston, SC. price was $3.19 ea.
  12. I was thinking of doing something similar so go ahead. keep in mind Varlyrio is neutral and their part would be as a rescue force
  13. It on the first post in this thread but here is snip of that post
  14. Welcome Lord Brickington of Hanaco! Does your signature have a interesting Backstory? It usually takes a couple days for Z and Rougeang to update the threads but don't worry they will get around to it
  15. the new Chess board gives you 12. I have found them on Bricklink and ebay for about $2.00 each. If you have a lot of other minifigs and castle helmets and weapons, you can probably get the torsos off brick link for about .75 each less than a $1.00 each
  16. outside always seem to be the best unless you have some good studio equipment and know how to use it. I have had the same issue here, although we don't typically see snow, wind, rain, the right time of day are all issues
  17. I really like this one two. while not as large as your other buildings, it is very nice. and I agree with de Gothia, while the photos are too bad, I would love to see more photos of it.
  18. Great build, I started a quick one last night myself. I would have liked to seen the river with more bends and more organic and less straight but the bridge is great. and I like how you used the trans on the boarder.
  19. Looks great Mephis, good to see a few Avalonian builds popping up. now that said, I should get building!
  20. sure. Pick one of the four guilds and post photos of your sigfig. Each guild has a lot of great info on the first page of their threads so that might help you choose.
  21. just to echo everyone else comments, great job on a huge task.
  22. Your Right! my bad hobbit sets on the brain will fix the post!
  23. With great deliberation and much internal strife, the winner of the Life in Varlyrio challenge and the LotR Shelob Attacks set is Masa in Kaliphlin! Honorable mention goes to Ecclesiastes and wins (another) Garra Soldier Thanks to everyone who entered and all the builds were great and all represented Varlyrio well. If you would like some feed back on you builds contact me via PM. Even though this contest is over, I would love to see more builds on the tribes of the Inland Sea, the quarries and mines of the Dwarves and the nautical side of the Varlyrio (navy, whaling, fishing, Trade)
  24. actually I missed it the first time around. must have been the sock under the bed getting all my attention!
