Legonardo, the improvement of your builds from the start is incredible. And you are quickly evolving your own style with influence from some other great builders. good story!

Chapter 1 Deep in the Enchanted Forest, in the caverns below the Great Oak where the refugees from Circardia had fled, Lord Arlindus comes to Cora once again. Her workshop had been in the caverns just waiting for Cora to return. entry one (interior scene) "Have you finished your project Cora?" Arlindus asked the old druid as he entered the cluttered workshop. "Perhaps, perhaps. Time will tell" she answered in her not so direct way. "Time will tell." "Victor has entrenched himself in Cerdica. The Mitgardians have had him under siege and the Kalphinan's have tried to breech the walls but we haven't been able to budge him." Arlindus explained to Cora. "We hope your project will help turn the tide." "The orb is ready, you must find the weakest wall. You must place it precisely. You must get close" Cora told Arlindus "Dragon Dust is tricky stuff, very tricky!" she crooned "Many have lost their lives trying to use it" "Don't drop it, don't get it wet, don't set it near a flame" Cora cackled, "Don't do that, no, no, no!" "If this works, you will be a hero of Historia." Arlindus told Cora. "things are desperate" "If this works, I hope I can go back to my little house!" Cora sighed. Arlindus left to join his Phoenix Guard and the Army of Avaolina as the marched to Cerdica to join the battle. Chapter 2 The Battle raged for days, the mighty Mitgardian siege engines battered the walls of the city. The Kaliphlins direct assault had been repelled time after time and the Free Nocturnians losses had been heavy. Even Avalonia's Flight of the Dragons heavy calvary had been rendered ineffective against the entrenched force of the Hand of Corruption and Victor. But the orb of Dragon Dust worked as Cora had hoped. A small band of Phoenix Guards sneaked to the base of the wall and placed it as Lord Arlindus had described. They retreated back to a safe distance and waited while the fuse slowly burned. The Explosion took everyone by surprise. The concussion destroyed a large section of wall and the Avalonian army poured through the gap. entry two Lord Arlindus lead his Phoenix Guard to take a tower where his archers rained death on the Hand of Corruption, while the Avalonian Army met the enemy head on. The fight was brutal. A huge troll reeked heavy casualties until he was taken down by a squad of pike men and a knight of the Flight of Dragons. Victor and his Generals fled to the top of the keep but they were trapped. Victor was captured, bound and gagged and placed in a deep cell, to wait his fate. Chapter 3 "Let the celebration begin!" exclaimed Lord Arlindus as he stood under the marque tent with his father and Cora. entry three After the battle had been won, Cerdica reclaimed and Victor safely locked away and under guard by many incantations and under the watchful eye of the new order of druids, the citizens of Circardia returned to their homes. Lord Arlindus called for a celebration, Beer and win flowed freely, Barnum and his convivial troupe preformed for the people with wonderous trained elephant, comedic juggling acrobats and a fortune teller. The festivities lasted for days and many babies were made Thanks for looking more photos can be seen at my Smugmug site or my flickr account As always Comment and critics are appreciated.

I think the DK Red and brown combo looks good as well and really like how much you've packed into the build. Your story is excellent as well. I'm also glad your using the LotR Orcs as they are, as that is my plan too.

nothing says it has to be happening today. It could take place before all the issues with the Victor and the Hand of Coruption -

welcome Carson and Caseus. Hope you can get a few free builds to help Avalonia score some more points. Also Challenge VI deadline has been extended to April 30 so plenty of time to enter! -
Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread

I think that questioned was answered in the Challenge VI question thread. Basically It is one thread for your entry. The way I am doing mine is building each one individually, then taken the photos but I don't plan on posting the photos until I have all three finished. -

I thought i found the deal of a month with 37 Dragon Knight at with less than a day left at $16 it is now about $50 not too bad but I can get them for about $1.75 on Bricklink. Still at a dilema about my builds. I haven't set my story yet which will dictate my builds. Of course, in the past I could always modify the story somewhat but as this one I likely will have to photograph and break down one MOC before moving to the second one I need to have the story set pretty well in stone before I start building. -

No not really upset, I already have a pretty good size army. but there have been a couple decent size lots recently that I thought would be good buys at the right price. It just made me start wondering if I it was someone here trying to build their Avaolina Army up. and I am far too familar with bricklink as my paypal account history tells me! -

Okay who keeps outbidding me on the larger lots of Dragon Knights on ebay? ;) Honestly if it is someone here I don't want to run the price up on them. -
I can definitely see an improvement of your skills. the little things that show you are improving are the attention to the landscape, the wooden details breaking up the BGW (Big Grey Wall) syndrome by using some sand green and the "brick brick" When you start on your larger build, do a quick google search on "medieval castles" or "parts of a medieval castle" it will give you some good ideas for details on the walls or parts of the castle. I often start with a small detail and let my bigger builds develop around it. For example, my Celyna the Seamstress build started with the spinning wheel. You seem to be able to get some good angles and detail with your camera. You also have done a good job eliminating the back ground with a white back drop. Try to find somewhere with a bit more light and it will get you a more crisp photo with better contrast. I often shoot my builds outside in the shadow of my house if the weather permits.

I did a historic Battle as Avalonia was " becoming civilized" The Battle of Red Ford Not as massive has your Battle DaMaxiums but it was a lot of fun! -
Cobblecrook Cottage & Haldur's Crypt - Dark Isle Saga: Chapter
MikeyB replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Guilds of Historica
Excellent story and builds. I can see my self starting a similar style story based in Circardia once Challenge VI wraps up. I love the new style on the builds too. still recognizable as DC but a few subtle things that make them even more interesting. -
thanks Z, makes things a bit easier as I don't think my collection will allow me to do what I want and an entire building
-
I have a question regarding the interior build my plan was to build a scene with two walls and a base that shows the interior of a building, but now I am wondering if the intent is to build an entire building and have it with an interior, like a modular building.?
-
not sure what your asking. if your looking to build in the avalonia's capital albion, the first post of this thread has a map of the plots and what has been built. Mikey
-
they are in the OP of this thread as for size, I think if you go by what most others have built to get an idea.

Welcome brickboy12. Received one of three orders today from bricklink. my army will be growing! -
Fabulous build. I always enjoy your creativity and the way you think outside the box on piece usage. As some one who used those flame pieces in a past challenge I can appreciate how hard it is to get those flame pieces to stay connected and how finicky they can be!
-
I agree with you on the path, I was going to add more after I added the figs, so I knew where to put the details on the path. then I put all the foliage on and couldn't get to the path any more!

There are nine Phoenix Guardsmen hiding in the scene. You might have view the additional photos (linked at the end of the first post) to see them all though!
