Master eBay Auctions thread - post noteworthy auctions here
Captain Blackmoor replied to interstellar's topic in LEGO Pirates
There is a nice bronze/copper cannon down there... But 799 buy it now price? Nah...think about how much BrickLink orders you can get from that ammount of money! Something that I prefer to buy. But it's a nice find! -
Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Captain Blackmoor replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Any updates on this project already dear Captain? -
I also noticed this kind of walls would fit perfectly for ships from the 17th century, I might try it myself once. CGH: Using this technique would be awesome on your ship.

I've uploaded some cabin pictures on Brickshelf, the only folder with the rigged ship pics. The pictures should have been moderated now and public viewable.

Lovely MOC again SlyOwl! There are so many interesting techniques in here, especially the walls. Such an awesome smart technique, yet so simple! The interior looks great with the skull and dartboard, nice! Making the jetty out of those bricks is a nice idea which I might use in my coming MOCs The flags used to be smoke is also a nice touch. Great work SlyOwl!

The masts are much better now! Their size is right now and so are the distance between the yards. Keep it up! But why the Brick is the price so high? Are you sure your other project isn't included?

Here we go! I Scream Cone: 2 points Guss: 2 points Patriot720: 1 point Erdbeereis: 1 point Gettobread: 1 point I Scream Clone's entry is just a beauty, nice things in it especially the organ and the many details. Great job. Guss, also a very nice entry, nice story behind it and the furniture is just ! Nice work. Patriot720, I really like the idea of building a fort instead of a ship, it turned out well. The furnishings are nice and the details on the wall made me to give you points. Erdbeereis, I saw a really nice technique using minifig legs in the walls, the floor is also really nice and the countless details as well. Great creation! Gettobread had some really nice things in his entry, the soup over the floor looks so realistic, as well for the dishes and all the other things in the kitchen. I've really enjoyed this entry. Thank you for this wonderful, funny and great contest!

My ship is rigged with ropes already, and it is still modular. The trick I used is to make catrolls (is that the right word?) modular as well. This way you can connect the ropes to the mast, and to the decks. In every connection to the deck should be a catroll. It is a bigger job to take the ship apart, but with real rope rigging it will be much more realistic. Here is my ship Hope that helps!

Spread the yards over the length of the mast, then it will be much better. The ship is quite nice for it's size. I like the way you've done it. Great job.

People were nasty in that time, the soldiers were not the most lovely persons on earth... I think the new faces are awesome, highly detailed. All the minifigs have been improved a lot.

I like it, it is a hard job to build a nice ship on a narrow hull like this one. The stern with the crown is a thing I really like, and I've never seen a technique to decorate the stern like this. Great job on that. I don't know about the mast at the back, perhaps remove one of the sails. Some windows would be a nice addition and it would break the plain white wall. The ship is somewhat boxy, try to make nice round shapes in it to give it a smoother look. Great ship.

The "Le Formidable" in it's current state.
Captain Blackmoor replied to Captain Blackmoor's topic in Pirate MOCs
I've updated the interior of the cabin today. I've updated the furniture and added some small details in it. I'm working on the sails now and I'm also updating the gun deck interior. Pics coming soon! Check the first post for the new pictures. -
BrickLink is a huge source of bricks, almost everyone gets his bricks there. Have fun there and less your thirst for bricks...

I agree with you the previous pirate's line with the Armada was a fail. But I expected more of the new pirates line, it's too childish. LEGO has to be childy, of course, but it looks like they didn't really put effort in it. However, the new sets contain lots of useful pieces and new bricks.' In short: I like the pirates theme, but I did expect more of it.

Greenscreening might be even better then using white cardboard indeed, since ships sometimes contain loads of white. Green is a rare colour in ships. Good luck on your video!

Sounds promising! Joey Lock is an expert on making ships in LDD. Perhaps he can help you out. I'm not a LDD expert but I've got some experience with Brickfilming. It might be handy to use white cardboard or white poster paper for the background. With the computer you can change the white for another background, even moving backgrounds if you have the right software. Or you can just print out a nice background and use it instead of cardboard. Hope this might help a little.

Hahaha, I really enjoyed this interview. I was curious about Erdy's cook avatar, and now I know it. You are doing an awesome job in the Shipyard, and also in the Reviewers Acedemy. Keep that up! Zuloo has done a nice job interviewing Strawberry, it's always a pleasure to read interviews. Oh and Erdbeereis, in the Netherlands there is perfect Icecream! I've heard the people in Germany use no sugar... is that true? I've eaten an apple pie from Germany once and it was not a pleasure!

I must say that I was also a bit dissappointed when the new sets came out. Some parts in it are very nice to have and perfect to build with. The hulls from the BB for example and all those new pieces. I'm happy there are finally new pirate sets, but I expected better quality sets. More pieces in a set and an improved buiding experience would be awesome.

I agree, awesome decals Trash. They look very realistic with those weapons and helmets. Great job.

ImperialShadows Decals

You've got an awesome collection of torso's there! I love it. I see you have included flags as well, very useful. Great, great job on them and keep painting! -
I agree this is amazing, I tried to make a LDD ship once and now I know how hard it is. Great job on the round shapes in the ship, the thing I never understood how to do in LDD. The coloursheme looks pretty cool, it starts to look like the Constitution. I recommend to place the stern somewhat higher so the back of the ship is a bit higher. Good luck further on you vessel! P.S. picture 1 and 2 are quite similar.

Your title explains enough about your figureheads! They look amazing. I haven't seen the ship before, but I really like it! The coloursheme looks good, but the bow and galleries are amazing. I know that is hard to do but here it turned out fantastic. The sails are really nice as well. I like them a lot. Good job on them. I also like the signflags (is that the right word?), an idea I have to try myself too. A wonderful ship Fat Tony!

Nice fighting scene, there are not much of them around except the PTV entries. There is a lot of action going on and I like the SNOT ground and water. But I also really recommend to use a white background, then try to improve the picture quality. It is distracting if there are so many things at the background. A white background is simply made with some white cardboard and tape. I've enjoyed your MOC and good luck on the picture improvements!

The British took the port from the Spanish... :pir-skull: I like this port, it has a cute look and it seems to be a peaceful port. But I also see some murders in there. The buildings are nicely done, the palmtree too. I always like custom made palmtrees. I agree with General Armendariz to add a cannon behind the gunport. Nice creation!
