MOC, WIP, Imperial Amarda Flagship Modifications.
Captain Blackmoor replied to Logbo's topic in Pirate MOCs
This is quite good! I especially like the custom made flags! They are awesome! I'm not too fond of the figurehead but that's just a small thing on a great vessel. I should place the lantern on a higher point and add a nice custom flag to the bowsprit too. Keep it up since this is very promising! -
Haha, the kitchen. I was planning to build a kitchen as well, you've done a great job on it. What I like: The idea is nice. All the different sort of things going on in here: getting drunk, cannibalism... I like the barrels with the viking shields on them. The cauldron is nice too, filled with human parts... The dead drunken pirate on the table is funny too. Looks like he is lying there for ages! What could be improved: Add some stuff in the barrels. They look a bit bare now. Try to tile some things, like the floor and the top of the walls. I don't know if you have enough but it adds more realism. I don't like the green pants from one of the pirates, but that's a minor point. It would be nice if you gave the monkey a weapon, a sword for example. Another point of detail: add some wasted wine on the floor. Leaking out of the glass from the pirate in the corner. Great entry!

I've spotted this ship when I was lurking at this site. I must say this is a masterpiece! There are so much realistic details on it, the coloursheme is nicely done and I also like the stern. The custom made hull is very well executed. I really like this MOC! Keep it up!! Your cannons are awesome btw!

Good enough for me to offer some feedback! What I like: The story and the idea from the battle cabin. I've seen it in Master and Commander and before that I didn't even know it existed. The tiled floor looks great in here. The minifigs inside drinking/wasting their drinks and the Imperial soldiers running with the treasure. All the decorations in the cabin look great too, the map with crossed swords for example. What could be improved: Try to tile the walls of the cabin too, if you have enough. Perhaps adding a border or something around the skeleton decoration. It looks a bit pale now. Some more windows would be nice, since it is a captain´s cabin.

Awesome video you got there! and welcome to Eurobricks! I especially like your 'special effects' like the water splashes and gunfire in your video. I hope we may work together once!

A Few Questions About Crewing Your Ships
Captain Blackmoor replied to matt w's topic in LEGO Pirates
Well, I've got a ship, Le Formidable with 4 midsections, 3 masts and 24 guns. The people on that bathtub are as follows: 1 captain 1 first mate 1 navigator 7 soldiers 10 crewmembers 1 prisoner You should browse BrickLink for some torso's, some of them are quite cheap. The new pirate's line contains some great torso's for soldiers. You can make them yourself, although you need an old/blanco torso for it. Hope this might help! -
Uploading to Mocpages goes a lot faster then Brickshelf. I also like MOCpages's layout more and the feature to comment on creations. I strongly recommend MOCpages! Brickshelf is handy too of course. I don't know what to think about Flickr cus I'm not there (yet). Deeplinking can be hard, but once you understand it you'll never make a mistake again.

I think the blue transculent pieces are stolen bought at BrickLink. At least for so far I know everyone gets his additional pieces there. I'm also excited by this cool project and curious to some updates.

LIBRARY: Pirate Torso/Decal/Sticker Designs
Captain Blackmoor replied to Bonaparte's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Citizen torso's This could be used for a lad living in a colony or village. It would fit on a crewmember's torso as well. This torso is meant for a harbour workers, crewmembers and scoundrels. Some drunken lads... That kind of people. A torso for a merchant, it is useful for common citizens as well. A torso meant for a pirate, a thug or a drunken scum. A fierce dangerous person. Hope you like them! EDIT: Merchant torso added. EDIT: Pirate torso added. EDIT: Citizen title added. -
Joachim's sea travel of 7 days.
Captain Blackmoor replied to Captain Blackmoor's topic in Pirate MOCs
I don't have SlyOwls's sigfig head! But I didn't even noticed his sigfig has different hands. But it's a spooky sigfig he has...I don't want to meet Sly on the seven seas! I'm happy to see you like my vignettes CGH! I was in the need of a cook and so I came to the idea to include some EB members in the vignettes. Glad you like it! Thank you for that Guss! I had a good laugh at some parts myself. I was planning to make 1 vignette but it has grown to 7. -
It's interesting to see why other people are interested in LEGO and how they came to this forum. Every story is different, which I like. Our Vice-Admiral is doing a nice job here on EB and I hope he will continue doing that for a long, long time. The graphic with Captain Zuloo in his interview armour looks great. I've enjoyed reading this interview.

I like them both. But the first one looks a bit like an alchemist's table. Perhaps making a small yellow cross would be better, if you not exceed the 35 pieces limit of course. The second impulse set is nice as well, but I would give Governor Stormeye some white pants. Overall, they are nicely executed and I wish you the best of luck on the contest.

The all new 2009 Captain Green Hair Sigfig!
Captain Blackmoor replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Lookin' good cap'n weird green hair! That scimitar looks terrifying to me, lucky enough our ships sail under the same flag and we live in the same country so I'm safe when it comes to battle. I like your new sigfig. -
Fantastic updates Captain Kirk! Absolutely great. I see you've made a pirate themed fleur de lys flag. However the colours yellow and red don't really fit with it, I like it. The extra flags are nice as well. I've discovered the LEGO large bluecoat flag looks almost exactly the same as the Québec flag. Great job on them Captain!

This is a very, very nice entry! You've put some good effort in it with a magnificient result. Awesome. What I like: Where shall I begin? Allright then, The detailed walls are defenitely a +. The great ammount of details used, every time when you look at it you'll discover something new. The drunken pirates below The story. The wooden floors. What could be improved: Not much actually, but the windows look a bit like pottery furnaces. Tiling the dining table.

Joachim's sea travel of 7 days.
Captain Blackmoor replied to Captain Blackmoor's topic in Pirate MOCs
Hehe, glad you like it. I've found your sigfig again when I was building that piece and I thought it would be a funny idea to put some EB member sigfigs in it. Another 7 days story is in progress... -
Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Captain Blackmoor replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Great updates CGH! I love this progress so far! Keep it up. I should replace the black jumper plates for brown ones with a black round 1x1 plate on them. Perhaps that's looking good too. -
I think it is custom made cloth or something from Belville. I'm not sure but it looks great.

Vig. 63a Hello all! I'd like to show you guys where I've been working on. Enjoy it! First an introduction: Joachim is a poor lad living in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He heard stories about guys going to the far east (China, Java) and become very rich that way. Joachim could use some money so he decided to leave his family and he boarded the ship. THE FIRST DAY Joachim's day started good, he prepared himself for a long voyage and he packed his goodies. But he missed the boat. While he is swimming to the ship, he meets General Armendariz in his barrel, wondering why he didn't drown already because of the technic axle hole in the bottom... THE SECOND DAY The deck needs to be cleaned! Joachim gives his best shot, but he bounces against the barrel of tar behind him, making a mess of the just cleaned, shiny deck... THE THIRD DAY The captain realized he made a terrible mistake, he has forgotten to take any food on board! The result is the crew gets hungry! Joachim stands in the row to get his tiny bit of food. He can't avoid taking the whole couldron away and eat it all. No wonder the other fellows on board are angry, Erdbeereis, who has done his very best on this meal grabs a stick... THE FOURTH DAY Joachim has been keelhauled today for everything what he has done so far. The sharks where hungry today and Joachim was an easy prey during his keelhauling. Joachim lost a leg today. Erdbeereis grabs his chance and takes his knife to cut the shark in pieces and prepare a meal from it. THE FIFTH DAY Pay day! Everyone on board gets his gold for his efforts, even Joachim gets some. But there are rats on the ship, living on the edge of starvation. One of them has spotted Joachim's coins, recognizing it as a piece of cheese. Joachim lost his coins that way... THE SIXTH DAY The day when pirates attacked Joachim's vessel. Nobody survives except Joachim, the lucky bastard meets the most bloodthirsty pirate: SlyOwl. Joachim raises the white flag and surrenders, but does SlyOwl worry about that? THE SEVENTH DAY SlyOwl decided to get rid of Joachim, he invited Zorro to join the party. Joachim was bound in chains, unable to swim. Slowly he walks the plank, Zorro points his sword against Joachim's back till the poor fellow fell in the sea. Nobody has ever heard of Joachim again... Remember Joachim had a wife and kids at home. EDIT: some grammar mistakes...

Let me guess...your CCC entry didn't survive the build of this MOC? I must say this looks extremely good! It is modular, to keep the MOC beautiful when making it modular can be a hard job. The interior looks great as well. Lots of details! I also like the SNOT floor used. You should use that on every floor! It looks much more realistic then. I can't see it that good, but I should place some barrels and cannonballs on the top floor. If they aren't there already. Very good creation, just like your CCC... Keep it up lad!

Another great entry! Nice idea to build a part of a fort instead of a ship's cabin. What I like: The ammount of details used everywhere. The drunken soldier at the highest floor. All kinds of sea-themed trophies on the walls in the admiral's room. The admiral's furniture, especially the bed, planning table and the closet under the crossed swords. The gun floors are nicely made and filled with things. What could be improved: Make the gun floors tiled or SNOT like you've done in the admiral's room. I always try to tile so much as possible to make it more realistic. It would work very well here. Try to make the 'roof' of the admiral's bed in a rectangle, it looks a bit odd now. Perhaps to make the flames in the fireplace less angular, there's no wind in a building so the flames should go more straight up. They look a bit wild now. An infiltrating enemy spy or something like that would add more action to the entry. Very nice entry and good luck!

This is very useful! I still want to build some 'traffic' in my port and now I know how to build some nice carts. Thank you! Very nice job putting this creations together!
-
Very inventive cannon you've got there General! I might use the basic design of it for swivel guns. Your updates turned out very well, the quality of some pics has also been improved. Great job Armendariz!
-
I agree with all the above! This is another incredible piece of work, packed with never-seen-before-techniques and details. I especially like the atlantis 'natives' with those inventive leggings, the whirlpool, which turned out really good and the ship, the sails and the hull are very nicely done. Great job, as always!

This looks pretty good! Nice idea with the skeletons. There are lots of details everywhere. What I like: The ammount of details, there are so many! The skeletons, nice idea. The cabin itself looks great. What could be improved: The parrot on the wheel on the large barrel. It would be better to make a seperate parrot stand. Overall, a very nice entry!
