Great job Erdbeereis! My favorite parts are the wizard's goofy face and the tree with the birds. ~Thrash

Unless a particular module has complicated building techniques that couldn't be replicated from the original pictures, then no instructions should be necessary. Plus, the remakes don't have to be exact piece by piece replications as long as they look almost the same. ~Thrash -

I just posted my Tanner in the Beta thread! Hope you guys like it! In a shameless double post, I present my Tanner! The Tanner working downstairs at skinning a horse to make some leather: The guy on the right is hanging above a pile of already skinned bodies. He's been skinned, and soon they're going to throw his head in the tannin to shrink it! Meanwhile, the tanner's evil son is cooking the meat from the man's body. The lady is next: The Tanner's son proudly shows off his shrunked head collection: The horse gatherer, Tanner, Tanner's son, Skinned Guy, and Lady about to be skinned: Hope you guys like it! Thanks! Sounds good. I'm excited to see what it looks like to have a big module next to one of the small ones! For your thumbnail, you still need to tell us the link to the folder with your pictures. Speaking of thumbnails, here's the code for CastleStrike666s Fighter's Guild, ISC: ~Thrash -

Thanks! It'll be great to see what you can do with the Servant's Quarters and Wine Cellar...we haven't had many modules from the keep done yet! Glad you like them. Yours look really cool combined too. I like the idea of a minotaur to guard the tax collector! Also, I love that centaur that you've made. Can you post some closer shots of the centaur so I can see how it's done? I'm sure you'll do a fantastic job with the Chapel. I think Stol is going to take a stab at the chapel/monastary this weekend too, so that should provide some good competition! No problem...it was a lot of fun to set up that little scene with all my castle minifigs since I had hardly gotten to use most of them yet. A bigger module would look awesome with them, but I doubt I would have enough bricks to build a corner module and have a bunch of other ones put together still...unless Santa is REALLY good to me this Christmas. I have some really cool ideas for modules that I want to make and I'm done the semester, so expect a lot of modules from me during the next few weeks! ~Thrash -

Unfortunately, I've reached a point where in order to build more modules I have to take apart some of my existing ones. Since it might be a while before we enslave Hinckley to build all the modules, I figured I would take the opportunity to make a little scene with Stol, Lalande, and my modules. I didn't both landscaping or anything since it was just a quick thing I wanted to do before taking them apart, but here is what I came up with: The whole scene: A witch is being burned at the stake! (which is odd, since there's Baba Yaga's hut and a Wizard's Guild so close by: The King is on his way to see the burning: The Troll Ambassador is coming out to see what all the Commotion is about: There are guards posted all over the rooftops, but the local thieves guild is up to no good: Hope you guys enjoyed that! It really is amazing to see so many modules lined up next to eachother. The whole row stretches about the length of my dining room table, which has to be at least 7 or 8 feet. When we can get all the modules from the entire EBCCB together, it's going to be incredible Now it's time to go rip apart my modules and build some new ones! Brickshelf Gallery ~Thrash -
Wow! That fighters guild looks fantasic! The parts that really stick out to me are the way you did the path in front and the helmet on the roof. Like ISC, I'm very excited to see the inside of it. I'm going to try to get some building done tonight...maybe I'll try something tudor style like what you and Matn have done, althought it'll be tough to make it as good as yours! ~Thrash

Glad I could help! I'm willing to make thumbnails for each person's creation when they post them...I think that will help to keep consistency among thumbnails and make this whole thing seem more organized. I'm fine with not doing it too though if people want to make their own. I've got no problem doing it, so if you want me to all you need to write in the first post is that I need a shot of the building head-on, or slightly at an angle like some people have chosen to do. A link to the folder will also help too...it's easy to find brickshelf folders, but it can be a pain if people use photobucket or sites like that! Even though Matn did one, I made a thumbnail for his in the same format as the others: Matn His folder isn't public yet, but I think I got the folder link correct. Your barracks looks great so far! It's a shame that you've run out of gray bricks. I was actually hesitant to do one of the bigger modules because I was afraid I would either run out of gray bricks or whatever color tiles I decided to use. The tudor upstairs should look really good when you're done, I can't wait to see it! ~Thrash -
Great work Matn! Everything about this building is great, but my favorite part is the way the exterior turned out. What do you think you'll be building next? ~Thrash

Nice job. I really like the middle level with the people running through the water. Before reading your post I glanced at the pictures and thought, "Hmm, that wall looks awfully familiar..." Everything made sense once I read what you wrote! ~Thrash

Sure thing, I'll get to work on that a bit later today after my philosophy final exam. This barracks just keeps sounding better and better! EDIT: Here's the code ISC. To make everything look nice I gave every thumbnail a height of 160 pixels. I also posted all of the bigger pictures in my brickshelf gallery. I tried to do my best with the colors and placement of text. Sorry to anyone who doesn't like the way I did their pictures, if you don't like the way I did yours I guess I can redo them. In the future whenever someone posts something I'll update the gallery and send you the code. It would help if in the guidelines you told everyone to take a picture of their creation head on with a white background that's a fairly large size so that I can work with it to make the thumbnail with the text. I left out Erdbeereis garden/courtyard because I was under the impression that he was still working at it. As soon as he posts the final product I'll thumbnail it. That was a lot of image editing/coding, so I hope I got everything right! If anyone sees any problems, just let me know Thumbnail Brickshelf Big Picture Brickshelf Thrash Sandy Stol ISC Erdbeereis1 Lalande jifel Guss LasseD 3D Brickthing Dennimator Josh darkagent ~Thrash -

Looks like a great start! As Erdbeereis pointed out, the diagonal steps are a really cool feature. I'm excited to see more pictures as it progresses or when it's finished! The program I use for writing on the pictures is Microsoft Word: 1. Copy and paste the picture into Word 2. Make it as big or as small as you want, but make sure that all of it can be viewed on the screen at one time 3. Use WordArt to create the text (the font I use is "Matura MT Script Capitals") 4. Edit the wordart (change colors, resize, rotate) 5. Hit the Print Screen button (or whatever you use to get screenshots) and then paste it into a Paint document 6. Move it so that the paint document is just the picture that now has the text on it 7. Save the paint document as whatever you want I'm not sure why you asked, but I would be happy to go through and write the name of each entry on the main picture of it. Just let me know! ~Thrash -

Ha, very true about my post count before joining. Probably about 90% of my posts have been in the discussion and group threads. I agree with Erdbeereis that it would be good to have a mess hall. How far along are you? ~Thrash -
Another outstanding entry darkagent. The characters all work really well, especially the expressions on their faces. I really like how one of the prostitutes is running out of the room. Also, the alley way is great. Well done on all three modules! What do you think you'll be doing next? ~Thrash
-
I really like this one too. My two favorite parts are the tiled room where they live and the winged horse on the roof. As for a name, maybe you could call it a the Elvin Mercenary House, or something like that. If they're mercenaries, then it would explain why they have their own stables and why they don't live in the barracks. ~Thrash
-
As I've already said in the discussion thread, well done darkagent. I like his little helpers running around...maybe some of them can appear elsewhere in the town in some other entries collecting taxes from people. ~Thrash

Wow darkagent! All three of those modules look fantasic. Based on the pictures you've shown, I think that my favorite is the Brothel. I love what you did with the alleyway, and really the whole building came together nicely. I have two suggetions: 1. On all of them, it might give them a smoother, more finished feel if you put down tiles of some sort on the floors and other areas where studs are showing. If you don't have the tiles, don't worry about it. They're still great creations! 2. For the brothel, I would suggest making the door swing in instead of out. Something about that door just doesn't seem right when you have it swinging out. Also, I really like how you have the tax collector having tons of jewels in his house. I was thinking about that module and was going to do something similar, but now that you've done such a nice job, I don't really see a need for me to build one. I'll admit, I was skeptical about what kind of entries you would make when I saw that you only had a few posts, but you've really done a great job and I'm thoroughly impressed! Good having you on board for the build, and I can't wait to see more pictures! Guss, I can't wait to see what you'll do for your next module! ~Thrash -

Yup, you can still participate! You're correct, the participating members do make the modules. Once you've made a module, you just need to take enough pictures of it so that someone could pretty easily recreate it. It may require you to take one or two pictures while taking it apart if you used some interesting building techniques, but it shouldn't be too much extra work. I'm not sure what's going to happen with this when it's all done, but it's likely that the only way these things will all get together is if a few members living relatively close by have enough bricks to rebuild all of the modules. Then they could take them to a lego convention or something. I won't go into the entire debate about the two teams, but as it stands right now they are just used as two different threads to show off your modules for the build. Once you say you want to join, I Scream Clone will put you on one of the teams and then that's the thread that you post your modules in. Hope that helps! By the way, it's great to have you join the build. I just looked at your PtV entries and they're excellent. Can't wait to see what you build for the EBCCB! ~Thrash -

I don't see any reason that the courtyard can't be a beautiful garden. I mean, people can leave their dirty wagons outside the keep in the walled city and just walk in. What I would say is the garden's a fine courtyard. If someone else wants to try to do a more historical courtyard, that's fine too. As with all of the other modules, we can just have a vote at the end and let the community decide which should be the courtyard. If yours loses, I'm sure we can find somewhere else in the castle to put it! ~Thrash
