No problem. ISC, here's darkagents latest thumbnail: There is no royal treasury, silly! There is a royal armory, but darkagent just did it... I generally try not to build ones that people have already done, but I was searching pictures of the various rooms and a beautiful picture of a wine cellar caught my eye, so I just couldn't resist. Whatever you decide to do next I'll try not to do. Wahoo! I don't know what ISC's thoughts on the matter will be, but I don't think that it will look out of place at all if the guard house walls are a little fancier than the rest, especially since I happen to like arches too... ~Thrash -
Wow! Another beautiful creation! Everything looks great, and great use of the brickbuilt knight. For the most part, I don't like brickbuilt minifigs, but for this it works perfectly. Also, the Armory guy at the desk is great with all the agents parts. I've been wanting to use that face for a while now, but could never find the right fig to put it on. Overall just a really great job. I'll get the text on it shortly and post the thumbnail code in the main thread. ~Thrash

Definitely better than the original! Oddly enough, the back end of the boat being lower in the water than the front end, although a very small detail, is my favorite part of the whole thing. Now that you're done with this project, you have no excuses to not get the Dwarf Embassy and Wizard's Guild done! ~Thrash

Great to have you join, Zepher! A chandler is simply a candle stick maker. EDIT: I just posted my Wine Cellar in the Beta Thread! ISC, since I'm done building for the weekend (finally!), here is the code for my three latest modules: ~Thrash -

Thanks! I wish I did, but unfortunately I don't think I do. Ha, thanks! If by "slow down" you meant "build more modules," then I'm doing exactly as I'm told. Here's my Treasury...more pictures can be found in the Beta Thread. ISC, I would give you code for a thumbnail, but I have a feeling I might do a few more modules before I go back to school, so I'm just going to wait until I'm away from my collection tomorrow and then post the code so you can knock it out in one edit. ~Thrash -
Thanks! And thanks for posting in this thread so that I can present my Treasury without doing a double post! The Treasury Guard stands in front of the Treasury door holding the key. If you're wondering why he isn't afraid of someone taking the key from him, just look at him: On one side, the King proudly shows off his collection of every type of jewel produced by Lego (or at least, every one that I know of): On the other side, the King has a big pile of gold and a few golden chests filled with gold and silver. The King in the treasury is like a small child in a candy store...: The Treasury Guard and the overly excited King: Hope you enjoyed it! That may or may not be my last creation of the weekend... Treasury Brickshelf EDIT: For my last module of the weekend, I bring you my Wine Cellar! A monk is getting some wine from the cellar as a cat chases away a rat from the precious wine: A few bottles of wine have been pulled out and put on ice: Without the characters: The monk: Hope you liked it! Time to go back to school, so everyone else will have some time to build some modules before I build anymore Wine Cellar Brickshelf ~Thrash

Thanks! I'm excited to see your kitchen! I just finished my Royal Jail, more pictures can be found in the Beta Thread! ISC, here's the code for my thumbnail. Sorry you've had to update that first post so many times in the past few days! : ~Thrash -
Thanks guys! For some reason, I just can't stop building these keep modules, so here's my Royal Jail! The Warden eats a delicious feast in front of the prisoners just to be rude: While all they have is a cup of gruel (and a barrel to go to the bathroom in): One of the prisoners is trying to reach the key before the guard notices, but that pesky dog keeps barking at him: A prisoner, Hinckley (who is being held captive until he agrees to build the entire CCB when we're finished ), the Warden's dog, and the Warden: Hope you like it! I might have another module coming tonight! Royal Jail Brickshelf ~Thrash

Ha, I think that post has to be one of the most frequently edited posts in the history of EB. Thanks for keeping all of the information so well together in that post! Ohhh! Can't wait to see what you come up with! That's great news. I think that Beta beating vs Alpha would be a good start. For the one about any EB member making a module, I looked through the list to see which modules haven't been done yet. Surprisingly, even though Khorne showed us a great start to his, no one has finished a Butcher shop. Since it's a fairly straightforward yet fun module, perhaps that could be the module for the contest if we do indeed make everyone build a single module. However, having everyone do a single module seems like kind of a waste of a competition. We could get SO many more modules built if we just told everyone that they could submit whatever module they wanted to! Having 20 butcher shop submissions seems unnecessary. If you do put a restriction on what kind of module, I think that you could just make it be like "16x16 outer wall module" or "16x16 keep module." That would keep the submissions similar, yet give people a lot more freedom. That's really generous of you to donate impulse sets. Thanks for starting (and everything else you've done with) the EBCCB! ~Thrash -

We aren't sure how we will get the modules all assembled together, if it ever happens at all. Right now our only option appear to be to either find someone with enough bricks and free time to make the whole thing or have some builders who live relatively close to eachother assemble the different parts and then bring it all together. The difference between the Armory and the Royal Armory, or at least what I intended the difference to be when I put them on the list, is that the Armory is an outer wall module that has the weapons for the lower soldiers while the Royal Armory is where the Knights and other members of the military who are frequently in the keep can keep their weapons and armor. I just finished my Buttery, more pictures are in the Beta Thread! I hope you guys like it! ISC, the Buttery isn't yet on the list because I didn't know such a thing existed in keeps until about 5 hours ago, so perhaps we could add it in on the list of modules in place of one of the three guest rooms? Also, here's all of my thumbnail code updated to fit on 3 lines so that it doesn't make the scroll bar appear on some people's monitors: Thrash ~Thrash -
Thanks! Lalande was doing a little research earlier about rooms in castle keeps and found that they not only had a wine cellar for wine but also a buttery for liquor, so I built a Buttery! The Beer-Girl is getting a tray full of beers...: ...While the Jester drinks away his sorrows about getting laughed at all the time: With the hallway attached: The Beer-Girl and the Jester: My barrel was inspired by the Everfrost Mountain Brewery, but I did it a bit differently. Once the Buttery Brickshelf folder is public, you'll be able to see pictures of how I made my barrels. Hope you like it! Buttery Brickshelf ~Thrash

Great to have you join the build NewRight! The Gambling Den will be an outer wall module, so it should be 16x16 and include the wall as shown on the front page. Can't wait to see your modules! ~Thrash -
Thanks! Here's the decal I used for the map. You might have to play with the size a bit to make it fit on 5 stacked 6x1 tan bricks. ~Thrash

I just finished my War Room! Head on over to the Beta Thread for more pictures! That sounds like a cool idea. The resized banners are below. Ha, I was pretty tempted to do acceptable alpha, but Lalande just helped me sort some of my lego and she's on team alpha, so I decided to give them a good banner... Any other ideas for banners? ~Thrash -
Since we've finally got everything sorted out with the keep, I decided to do the War Room! The general is detailing the battle plan on the large map while the wizard, dwarf, and knights listen. The giant map is a custom decal I made. It's supposed to look a lot like the new pirates/indiana jones map: Another angle: Without the minifigs: The wizard, knights, dwarf, and general: I hope you guys like it! War Room Brickshelf ~Thrash

That sounds like a great idea. Not only will it be fun for all of the EBCCB participants, but it should also draw some attention to what we're doing here and maybe bring in some new members. I'm not sure that the random selection is the best way to go, as it might end up putting three of the best creations from one group against three of the weakest creations from the other group. To solve this problem, I think that each member should tell you which of their own creations is their favorite, and then you select the three random from each team from the pool of each persons favorite. No matter how we do it, I think it'll be a great contest! I would be happy to help out with the avatar/signature thing. Since Stol and I are on opposing teams and both worked on the Church, just leave it out of the contest. Yes, it is too early. If my memory serves me, the only dupilcates we have thus far are the Armory (Jifel and Guss) and the Brothel (darkagent and Josh). The armory doesn't really count though since Guss and Jifel are both on Team Alpha. Considering the rate modules have been coming in and the number of new modules left to fill, it shouldn't be long before we have many more duplicates though! Ha, we'll see about that Dragonator! That's great news. Based on what I've seen of your other work, I'm really excited to see what you do with the front gate! EDIT: To promote the contest, I've come up with these two banners: If you guys like these banners, then I'll supply code that links to the poll where the contest is being held with each banner. Also, do you guys think I should make them a little smaller, more like the banner in my signature? ~Thrash -

No need for construction pics unless your building techniques were particularly confusing to replicate without clearer pictures of how it was done. For the most part I think that it should be fairly easy to rebuild any of the modules based on the pictures already provided. ~Thrash -

Of course, but the link there just leads to a single jpeg image. Perhaps like we did with Sandy's we should just link to his post with the pictures. Ha, I tried to get my grandfather to build one but he refused. Maybe if he comes to visit some time soon he'll give in... No problem with the codes and the hallway design. Half the credit for the hallway design goes to Sandy! Of course you can still sign up! ISC will assign you to one of the two groups where you can post pictures of your bank (and any of the other modules you want to make) once it's finished. ~Thrash -
I just called it a Cadger's Menagerie because a cadger is an old man and a menagerie is a collection of live wild animals for exhibit. I thought that the name sounded kind of medieval, so I went with it. ~Thrash

No problem! I think I gave you credit when I first transferred it to LDD with the lion and everything just like you made it, but I forgot to give you credit again when I took the lion out. Sorry! ~Thrash

Good question. All of the "used" spaces have modules underneath them that take up the space. For example, the Entrance hall is double high, thus the second floor spot over the Entrance hall is "used." The staircase is two stories high also, so that space is used. The gatehouse is 3 stories high, so all of that space is used. The courtyard should be in the open air, so all of the space above that is empty, or "used." Don't worry about balconies, those just go on the modules outside the keep. However, the third floor modules can probably get away with having windows that have large overhangs. I hope that clears everything up! If not, let me know. Over in the Beta Thread I just posted my girlfriend's first ever MOC, the Cadger's Menagerie! ISC, there have been lots of new modules recently (and Lalande has one that she'll post in the next few days, so here's lots of updated thumbnail code: To add to mine: I guess make a new line for my girlfriend: Thrash's Girlfriend To add to Lalande's: To add to darkagents: To change JimButcher's too since he redid his wine cellar: JimButcher I think that's all for now! ~Thrash -
Thanks for all the comments on the Money Changer guys! Darkagent, your Throne Room looks really nice. I really like how the dwarves and the elves are coming to meet with him. The big red carpet fits perfectly, too. Over the past few months my girlfriend has watched me build a few of my modules, so over winter break she agreed to try to make one too. I told her that she could build whatever the heck she wanted as long as it would fit in with a medieval town, so she came up with a Cadger's Menagerie. I had no idea what experience she had with lego, but I was pleasently surprised with the result. She insisted that she didn't want ANY help from me, so this is all her work. In fact, I was watching football at another house while she was building! Another angle: When the person goes inside, there is a pit of spiders on their right, and then a path leading to a big red door. If people go to this door, they fall in a pit of snakes. You can't blame me for the gruesomeness this time guys...this was all my girlfriend's doing: A shot of the inside from the back: The old Cadger who runs the place. Probably not the best torso choice for a medieval town, but she insisted she wanted it because it fit with the color scheme...: Hope you liked it! Cadger's Menagerie Brickshelf ~Thrash

Great job on that updated Wine Cellar JimButcher! No need for guard balconies or anything; those only go on the modules that aren't in the keep. What do you think you'll be doing next? ~Thrash
