1. Yup, it's fine if someone doesn't have the pieces to make the hallway exactly the way the design is. That's up to you. If you want a door, throw in some hinges and a door. If you just want an arch, that's fine too! I think that this is just kind of a starting point for when you build. Minor additions and changes are fine ~Thrash
2. We're just voting on a hallway because we want everything in the keep to look pretty consistent. Certainly, someone could put a statue in their hallway or if you're building one of the modules on the first floor you can add a door out in to the courtyard. Think of it kind of like the back wall for the other modules. There is a basic design, but everyone doesn't have to follow it EXACTLY. Some people didn't have the little slopes for the top part so they used a different color or something else, and some people added various features to the wall to make it look a little different like Guss did by adding some stuff in the middle of the wall. Without a standard for the hallway, there would be far too many questions about "What should the hallway look like?" so it's easiest and best to just have a standard hallway design. I hope that clears everything up. ~Thrash
3. No rush...even though everyone took a brief holiday break from the EBCCB, everyone is back now! Also, with 20 or 30 modules to go, I don't foresee this project being finished any time soon. ~Thrash
4. Thanks! Yup, as long as it looks about the same it would be fine, I assume. That looks like a great start on the toilet. You make a good point about the toilet being on the outside wall too, so perhaps next time the list of buildings is updated we'll add in your module! Also, welcome to the EBCCB! Well, that room is just my proposal. We'll have to wait for word from ISC regarding what design path we're going to follow. My design would really just go for the modules that are 16x16 and 16x32. For the entrance hall with the staircase, you can pretty much do whatever you want on the 32x32 base as long as the stairs go from the first floor to the second. We're still deciding how high each floor will be... Thanks! Before you start building you might want to wait for a final decision from ISC regarding which hallway plans we're going to go with. EDIT: With all of the questions about the keep that have been coming up, I figured I should fix up the layout to make everything a bit more clear. While I was at it, I updated the layout for the castle too with a few added modules! 0. Dock - Wouwie13, Captain Green Hair 1. Main Gatehouse - Dragonator 2. Oil Smelter - ISC 3. 5. I hope everyone had a great holiday season! Between family and putting together new lego sets that I got for Christmas, I just haven't had any time for the EBCCB! Now that all of my new sets are put together and everything, I should have more time for the EBCCB. First, I'd like to show my Money Changer! More photos can be found in the beta thread. ISC, here's my thumbnail code: Second, here is my proposal for the keep walls and rooms: The halls that are between rooms and don't open up to the courtyard would obviously not have windows. Also, the rooms could have windows or whatever else you want on the outside walls. Let me know what you guys think. It's good to be back! ~Thrash
6. After taking a nice long holiday break, I bring you my Money Changer! With the gate closed: A closeup of the Money Changer with her big chest of gold: The inside. You'll see a few items that also appeared in my Theives Guild. The Theives Guild can't have too many people bringing them valuable items, so they use the money changer as their fence: The Money Changer and her guard: I hope you guys like it! Money Changer Brickshelf ~Thrash
7. My Cody keychain came yesterday. Thanks to everyone who made this possible! ~Thrash
8. Oops! When I made that wall I was thinking that all of the hallways open up to the courtyard, but clearly they don't! ~Thrash
9. That's a great choice. It should be 32x32. We're still working on all the specifications for the keep rooms, so I'm not sure about the height. Here's Sandy's basic hallway design in Ldraw form. I think this might be a good plan for the hallway: What do you guys think? ~Thrash
10. Thanks for all the comments guys! Erdbeereis and ISC, those are some funny ideas for titles. Over the next few days I'm not going to build anything since I'm going to be getting ready for Christmas, so that can give everyone else some time to build modules! ~Thrash
11. No problem. I'm excited to see what you'll come up with now that you have more room to work with! ~Thrash
12. Welcome to the build! I really like your doctor module! I assume that I Scream Clone (the leader of the EBCCB) will put you on Team Beta since right now Alpha has 17 members and Beta only has 16, but I guess you should wait for his official word on the matter. ISC, here's the code for stenertje's thumbnail: stenertje ~Thrash
13. Here's the layout for the keep: When I designed it I made sure that the smallest module in the keep was 16x16, and then each module also has a hallway out front. Now that I look at it, the legend should say "6 wide hallway" instead of "8 wide hallway," but that doesnt' matter much for the size of the module. I haven't updated the layout in a while, so next time I do that I'll be sure to fix the hallway size! ~Thrash
14. No problem! I'm not sure, but I think that Sandy's were 7 bricks high. Since people have done almost all of the outer wall modules and the focus will soon be shifting to the keep, perhaps we should work on refining the standards for the keep modules. For example, just as we have a standard outer wall, perhaps we could have a standard hallway that will be attached to each module. I'll be happy to draw up on standards on Ldraw, but first I think that the community needs to decide on what sorts of things we want to standardize. In the mean time, you guys can enjoy my Barbershop! More pictures can be found over in the Beta Thread. ISC, here's the thumbnail code to add to mine: ~Thrash
15. I've been meaning to do this one for a while but couldn't quite figure it out. After spending some time last night and this morning, I finally got it to work. Presenting, my Barbershop! Upstairs, the barber, let's call him, oh, I don't know...Sweeney Todd, cuts people's hair...and their necks: Then, he hits the little lever on the chair, the floor drops out, and the chair tilts back...: They slide off...: And land in the fire downstairs...: Where they get turned into meat-pies!: Mrs. Lovett, Sweeney Todd, and Borat (er...whatever he was called in the movie): Sorry I went over the picture limit, I just had to get that action shot of the murder in! Also, sorry I made another disgusting entry! I promise my next one will be full of happy things like sunshine, rainbows, and bunny rabbits. Hope you guys liked the Barbershop! Barbershop Brickshelf ~Thrash
16. Thanks for those close-ups of the centaur! Over the years I've tried to make centaurs, but none have ever turned out that good. Maybe sometime over the holidays I'll bring myself to part with a horse in order to get a centaur. Also, it was a great idea to make that your avatar! Thanks, you did a great job too! I think that what we should do is just consider the Church and the Chapel to be two completely different modules and give each one a spot. It would seem odd to have the community vote on having a giant church or a small chapel, so there's no reason both can't be in the EBCCB! Sounds good. Yea, the staircase that I was referring to when I added that to the list was a staircase that runs from the ground floor to the first floor. As long as it's a staircase that goes from the ground to the first floor, you can do whatever you want with it! ISC, here's the latest thumbnail codes to add to the existing ones: Yours: Darkagents: Jimbutchers: ~Thrash
17. Thanks everyone! We had a lot of fun building that church, so I'm glad you guys like it! JimButcher, your wine cellar looks great. I love all of the wine bottles everywhere, and the way you did that wall with all the holes was really clever. However, I don't think it's the correct size. Do you think that, excluding the front hallway, you could expand the cellar to be 16x16? That would give you even MORE room for cool details! ~Thrash
18. Fantastic work. I'm impressed that you managed to fit everything in such a small space. When Stol and I did ours, we thought there was no way anyone could do a chapel so small, but you proved us wrong! The best parts are the Harry Potter banners and the stained glass windows! Wow! That barracks is really incredible. The color scene, all of the details, everythings perfect! If I had to point out the BEST detail, I would say that it's the diagonal stairs. Good rule! That seems fair for a bigger build to get more pictures... Thanks, I'll post all of the latest thumbnail codes in the discussion thread shortly. Thanks! I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but if the final result is a module with a proper back wall on the correct size base plate, then it doesn't really matter what technique you used to arrive at that result, so whatever you want to do should be fine! ~Thrash

20. As I mentioned earlier, Stol and I got together to do a church module. You can check out more pictures at the Alpha thread now! No problem! I'm excited to see more pictures of your barracks. What you've showed already looked like a great start, so I'm sure that the finished product will be even better! Jimbutcher, I'm also excited to see pictures of whatever module you've got planned. ~Thrash
21. Thanks guys! Hopefully making a church redeemed me for making the Tanner so disgusting. ~Thrash
22. Great job posting the Stol! Here's the custom decal I made for the Templar: And here are two pictures of him with the decal on, one of which now appears to be Stols avatar: Since it was a white torso, I just printed the decal onto clear window sticker paper and stuck it on the torso. Hope you guys like the Church we did! ~Thrash
23. No problem! The courtyard is perfect...everything with it came together really nicely. Assuming you mean the back wall that's on every module, no, it's not really necessary. Just make sure that you leave room so that a wall piece could be added. ~Thrash
24. Stol and I were hard at work all day getting our Church built. Stol had most of the ideas, I just helped him translate those idea into a polished looking building. I also did a custom decal for him for the Templars. He said that he wants to post the pictures since it was mainly his idea, so they'll be up later. In the mean time, here's a teaser picture: There have been a lot of new modules coming in recently ISC, so here is lots of updated thumbnail code: My new thumbnail code: Thrash To add to Lalande's: To add to Stol's: To add to Erdbeereis': I think that's all of the new ones! I don't have time now, but later tonight or tomorrow I'll try to update the code for the list of modules to reflect all of the new modules that have come in if you haven't done it already. I did the Tanner yesterday, but you're welcome to do one too! That's a good idea to make sure that the Entrance hall fits with the courtyard. I've just been doing them all to keep all of the thumbnails in the same style. I've got no problem doing it. As you can see above, I've already done the thumbnail for your Courtyard.
