This is a nice little scene you've set up. I especially like the way you did the jail at the top of the tower. ~Thrash

Great work! I like the decal on the wings ~Thrash

Thanks! I considered wrapping her with black paper...maybe I'll try that next time! Haha, that's a good question. I wanted to make a sexy Russian spy, and I've always wanted to try making the girl on the cover of Red Alert 3 into a minifig. Put those two things together, and that's how that girl in a two piece ended up outside an SS Headquarters! Thanks! The tank was definitely the hardest part of this to create, so I'm glad that you like it. Ha, I didn't really think of that, but now that I check out Will's avatar on brickarms, you're aboslutely right. Whoops! Thanks! Thanks! Nope, they aren't waterslides. I'm not sure what I use is called, but it's some sort of the clear paper that I think is supposed to stick to windows. It works perfectly for minifig torsos, but it doesn't really work on curved surfaces like their heads or the round part of their legs. ~Thrash

Here is my latest MOC, a scene of the SS Headquarters being infiltrated by Russian Spies: While a sexy Russian Spy distracts the officer...: ...a Russian Assassin slits the throat of the guard at the door The SS is completely oblivious to what's going on at the door. As far as he can see, the officer is just flirting with some sexy girl: Close-up of the tank: Close-up of the turret: All of the characters: Close-up of the spy. She's supposed to have a black miniskirt on...: And the hammer and sickle symbol tattooed on her lower back: Hope you guys liked it! SS Headquarters Brickshelf ~Thrash

The people who commissioned these items did want some of them to look similar to the brickarms figs, but I tried to not just copy them exactly. That being said, when you're making decals of historical outfits, there is only so much variation that can occur if both customizers want it to look like the same thing. ~Thrash

What Does Your April Fool Do For A Living VOTING!
Thrash replied to Shadows's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Fair enough. I hadn't really thought about the fact that it would be difficult for people to vote on one best entry since the rules were so broad and led to such a variety of interests. Either way, I still had a blast building my entry and it was fun to look at all the other entries, so thanks for the great contest! -
What Does Your April Fool Do For A Living VOTING!
Thrash replied to Shadows's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think that the lack of actual voting kind of cheated everyone who spent time making great entries (including Peppermint M) since voting makes people look over all of the different entries. Instead by basically making it a raffle, all of the entries kind of got forgotten about. Oh well... Nevertheless, congratulations Peppermint M! -
Recently I was commissioned to make decals for WW2 characters (mostly Germans), so I figured I would share what I came up with here. I know that many of the weapons and headgear might not be historically accurate, but I just gave them whatever weapons I happened to have handy. Decal 1: Decal 2: Decal 3: Decal 4: Decal 5: Decal 6: Decal 7: Hope you like them! WW2 Decal Brickshelf ~Thrash

EB Community Castle Build: Discussion Thread
Thrash replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
By updating the layout I just meant redoing the list of modules to include the ones that don't have a spot yet, such as the Fortune Teller and Satyr's Treeschool. The only way I would really change the drawing of the layout would be to change the color of a couple buildings to make more room in the docks and less room in the industrial quarter. ~Thrash -
Thanks guys! As a little extra, here's a drawing I did of the retiarius: ~Thrash

EB Community Castle Build: Discussion Thread
Thrash replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
If everyone thinks it's a good idea, I can mess with the layout a bit to try to incorporate all of the modules that we have built and then post a new list of modules and a list of modules still left to do. That way, the amount of modules left to be built will be minimized. From a quick count, it looks like there will be about 7 or 8 large modules, 25 small modules, and the roof of the keep left to do. Considering we have 80 some modules built so far, finishing the remaning modules in 6 months should be fairly simple. Should I go ahead and update the layout for one final time with a list of modules that still need to be built? Also, when I was looking through the modules I noticed that 3D brickthings Wizard Tower doesn't have the required wall platform. Should we still include this module or ask him to fix it if he wants it to be included? ~Thrash -
Ha, I would try to play it off like I was being sarcastic, but really I just saw the black torso and didn't take the time to read that they were yellow. Now I just feel dumb. ~Thrash

Thanks! I think that the last one is my favorite too. I had a fun time letting my imagination run wild with that last one after trying to be historically accurate with the other 5. Ha, I thought about it, but in the end decided not to because I didn't want to offend anyone on the forum... Maybe if I do another group of gladiators I'll throw a topless one in just for you. Thanks! I think that nearly all of my yellow torsos come from a large bricklink order I placed a year or so ago when I first started making decals. Other than bricklink, I'm not sure where you would get them...I can't think of any sets that have any off the top of my head, much less any sets that have multiples. Thanks Svelte_corps...That's odd that Spongebob comes with a black torso. I would have guessed yellow... EDIT: I can't read. ~Thrash

Great entry Sandy! I thought you had forgotten about the EBCCB...I'm glad you hadn't! I really like the way you put a chalk board in there. The Satyr minifig is also quite nice. ~Thrash

ISC, I had some free time today so I did the thumbnails for all of the contest entries so far that I hadn't thumbnailed yet: Lalande: Erdbeereis: Darkagent: Sandy: Lt. de Martinet: ~Thrash -
I've always wanted to make Lego gladiators, so while I was off on spring break this week I sat down and made some. For the Murmillo, Secutor, Thraex, and Hoplomachus I tried to make them look like what those classes of gladiators really looked like. I had a little fun with the Retiarius and made it a woman, but the weapons and clothing (other than the fact that she's wearing a top since female gladiators fought topless) are all fairly accurate. The Champion is just a guy I made up to try to look as cool as possible. Murmillos were heavily armored and carried a gladius and a scutum. They usually fought against Thraex or Hoplomachus, and generally they represented roman soldiers in the arena. Secutors also used a gladius and scutum, but they had less armor and their helmets were generally very smooth. They usually fought retiarius, which used the nets, so they had smooth helmets to prevent getting tangled in the nets of their opponents. The Thraex's were modeled after Thracean warriors. Their defining weapon was a hooked sword, and they usually fought against Murmillo. Hoplomachus were styled after Greek Hoplites to make fun of them. They carried weapons that Hoplites would carry, and usually fought Murmillo. Retiarius were supposed to be like fishermen. They carried a trident, dagger, and a net. They would stay far away from their opponent and try to catch them in a net or stab them with the long trident. I just made this guy up because I was disappointed that none of the real types used axes or other interesting weapons. Feel free to use the decals. Just make sure you give me credit. Pretty much all of the accessories used come from Brickforge. Hope you liked them! Gladiators Brickshelf ~Thrash

Another great entry darkagent! I saw this on your brickshelf the other day and was excited for you to post it here. As always, all the details are excellent. A few of my favorites are the heads on the shelf and the guy in the stocks. I also like the way you did the roof. Well done! ~Thrash

For my first entry, I'm entering my Wolfpack Embassy: The back: Traditional wolf pack member, Wolfpack Ambassador, and Wolfpack elite guard: I hope you all like it! Wolfpack Embassy Brickshelf ~Thrash And for my second entry, I'm entering my Crownie Secret Service Agency! A two-headed ogre stands guard out front of the Crownie Secret Service Agency. In the middle of the second story there is an eye that helps the Secret Service Agency spy on the citizens of the EBCCB: Here is a close-up of the statues and the spy-eye: On the first floor, the Agency keeps prisoners captive in magical cells. The only way to get the prisoners out of the cells is by magic, but usually they just let them die in there, as you can see on the left: On the second floor is the office of the head of the Agency. Also, upstairs the agents can use the eye to spy on people. When you turn the megaphone piece, the eye on the outside moves with it: I used custom decals for the agents. Pictures of them can be found in the brickshelf folder. Here is a really nice angle shot of the two headed ogre. I picked up a second Power Miner set the other day, so I figured that two of the little rock monsters would work perfectly as heads for an ogre...: I hope you guys liked it! Great job Erdbeereis! The color scene is great and the interior is really nice too. The giant octopus on the wall is a really cool detail and the fish monger minifig is perfect. It's a shame that there's all this great competition for the contest! Each day I see my chances of winning decreasing. Just joking. I love all the new entries coming in...lots of good competition!

What Does Your April Fool Do For a Living CONTEST
Thrash replied to Shadows's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My Jester happens to be a Drug Lord for his living, which is pretty CRAZY by itself, but one day he decided to try the product he sells, and that's when things got really CRAZY. First, he took a hundred dollar bill and started making a line of cocaine: Then he rolled the money and used it to sniff the cocaine: Just when he was starting to enjoy it, one of his workers busted in his office and started telling him about a problem at one of the factories: The Jester, being high on cocaine, didn't like this news very much, so he shot him: Then, the Jester suddenly felt the urge to try on some of his wife's undergarments and admired himself in the mirror: He didn't like the way he looked in them, so he ran to the balcony of his office (which is on the 5th story of his house): And since he was high on cocaine, he thought it was a good idea to jump off, so he did: And that was the end of the Jester Drug Lord's CRAZY day (and life). The worker and Jester Drug Lord with a kilo of special Jester Brand Cocaine: If for some reason one of you is CRAZY enough to want to use my Jester Cocaine decal for anything, here it is... Thanks for looking! Great contest idea! Jester Drug Lord Brickshelf ~Thrash -
Great job Erdbeereis! I think that this is your best module yet. The details on the outside all look really nice and the interior looks perfect for a fortune teller! One of my favorite details is the way that you didn't push the roof tiles down...I've never thought to do that before. ~Thrash

Thanks! The armor is from brickforge.com. Specifically, the pieces are a gladiator mask and segmented pauldrons. Hope that helps! I actually have quite a few star wars parts, I just don't use them very often so they aren't sorted as well as the pieces that are more useful for castle building. Also, I'm more used to building with castle themed pieces, so that probably also contributed to the castle-y appearance of the hover craft. Thanks! I know it's a castle'y... Thanks, two of my favorite parts were making the figures and coming up with a story. It was quite a challenge to come up with a somewhat coherent story without knowing much about starwars... Thanks KimT! Great contest
