  1. Welcome to Eurobricks! Simply stunning model, Well done. I can't fault anything. Brilliant job.
  2. Yes, already destroyed 2. Haha This will not be a serious off roader, more of a display piece. But still has to move on level ground!!! Just made this. lego by Doc_brown1, on Flickr Where the arrow is it grinds, just can't think how to reinforce. The universal needs to be there.
  3. That is awesome! I totally agree with Someonenamedjon, great build with just one motor!
  4. Yes I understand you, thank you! I have a set of gears both sides of the diff. I'm going to make this in lego designer and hopefully its easy to see.
  5. Beautiful! I'm sure your wife will love it! :D
  6. Hello everyone! I started work on this, with the goal of having independent suspension and gearing down after the differential. I have hit a snag, hard to see, but the gearing "cracks" after the diff, because it can move from each other. Its really bad and when geared with 12t and 20t will not even move on level ground under its own power! When geared with 8t and 24t it will move but slightest bumps will cause it to grind gears. There is just no room between the gears and universal joints for reinforcement. You will also probably spot the plastic washer I made to stop the diffs from being torn to a pulp. Many wont approve of this, but I only have 2 good ones left! And need to protect them as they are a little pricy to replace. This does work very well tho. Has anyone succeeded in gearing down after the diff on independent suspension before? Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated, at this point I'm going to scrap this and start again, perhaps forget about gearing down after the diff. Thanks
  7. LOL, What I meant was what does a capacitor do in respect of connected between the the motor terminals? Is it in case it stalls?
  8. Sorry I don't. I have been thru all my pics and nothing reveals any more detail. I had to use 4 rubber bands to keep it upright, tho flexible it did have its flaws.
  9. This is a fantastic model! I'm loving that 2 speed. So that's why I can't find any 6x6 dishes, you have them all! You have inspired me to continue my work on RC gearboxes. Cheers
  10. This is a awesome thread! I was thinking of doing the same. Well done, and keep up the great work. What does a capacitor do? Seen it a few times on motors.
  11. Excellent job, I own this model and do notice the difference! Looks great without stickers (might peal mine off) and great photography.
  12. Any examples? I'm going to post my test independent with the new hubs, that failed, hopefully someone can help haha.
  13. WOW this looks so awesome, Can't wait to see some vids! Well done.
  14. HAHA beat me to it! How does it perform? Yeh that's true. And the older ones hav a slot where some teeth are only half long, making it "crack" gears at this point.
  15. Sweet, thanks for that! Much appreciated.
  16. WOW, I'm totally loving this! Can't wait to see it in action! So many cool ideas, my brain is buzzing. Those wheels are awesome too! Wish I had RC motors, they look so powerful.
  17. Thanks I really loved how the wheels turned out too! I don't know anything about these new 12T, is there a thread? I was going to reinforce the axle more, but realized that more valuable 1x11 beams would get scratched the heck out of. But it does look a bit sorry now! haha But it held together ok. Can't wait to watch Extreme 4x4's!
  18. Well I wasn't expecting it to be that bad! haha, but you can always flip it and use the other end in the gears. I just thought of gluing some harder rubber sheets together and then cutting out a custom piece, a heck of a lot cheaper! Thanks for your comments too.
  19. Here they are from the Crawler, Front and back, bit of a difference. HAHA IMG_5968 copy by Doc_brown1, on Flickr
  20. As requested here are some detail pics I know you guys want. Also how do you post YouTube videos with a pic? I tried following the code as specified in "posting guildlines" LOL, its certainly looking a bit tired after its adventures! IMG_5959 by Doc_brown1, on Flickr IMG_5962 by Doc_brown1, on Flickr
  21. Hi Everyone, Here is my solution to stopping diffs from spinning, which I find very annoying! haha I'm not sure if anyone has done this before but works quite well as I tested with my 4x4 crawler. It does however kill the rubber bit. What I did was literally shove the rubber 1x2 part (from unimog claw) into the older style "new" differential with the little slit in it. This presses against the 12T gears and restricts their movement. This may have other applications in gearboxes or something. LOL Hope this helps with anyone struggling with this, who doesn't want a solid axle, but still wants the model to turn correctly! This one below is freshly installed. 22. Very impressive! Love the underwater shots and good editing.
  23. Thank you, I followed your link to extreme 4x4! love it!
  24. WOW, Thank you very much, he in fact inspired me a lot to build the rock crawler!
  25. Thanks for the nice comments! I think its a little too soft, because it tends to roll a bit now, if fact I use lego rubber bands to keep it upright!
