Lego Technic 2h 2013
Cwetqo replied to sama's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You do realise its just for trading customers? You need to have invitation or at least register as business visitior (business card is enoug). Regarding pics: dont get you hopes too high. TLG seems to have sealed a lot of leaks this year and also increased security on fairs/exhibitions (covered exhibition space on london fair etc...)- 902 replies

Please register in first post that I will come with car. If I counted correctly, we currently have 4 "registered" cars for 20 atendees (I dont count Dfenz family and those who will not be staying at Bauernhof). Theoreticaly that should be enough (5 per car) and Im pretty sure that there will be more cars. -
REVIEW: 8265 Wheel Loader
Cwetqo replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes, it is, I built first version with worm gear and it was not performing well. LA version steers nicely, but problem remains in too high transmission ratio from XL motor. So loader is too fast and not powerful enough. But this is true for both version of this modification. I have plans to remove fake motor and incorporate gears for reduction of speed. -

Eurobricks Event 2013 - Information Topic
Cwetqo replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Stuttgart is actually slightly closer (95 km) than Munich (130 km). Connections should also be ok. Edit: I'm of course talking about airports. Munchens airport is on the oposite side of town and so close to city center. -
Not only that it has the same seats, its also very very similar to original. Ok, It is nice, but I got a feeling that we lost good oportunity to make a really special model and even worse, It seems that it was because of one nations afols against "bad" western europe. I mean, c'mon, its another pickup with two seat cabin, cargo box in the back, top lights and supporting structure. Nothing new here except boxy structure. I'm pretty sure that TLG will be happy though. Its the most simple model with least parts.

Worst Technic Sets of all Time
Cwetqo replied to Rishab N's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You mean 8466? For me its one of best looking Tecnic sets. Regarding worst sets: 8482 Cybermaster is among worst for me. Its got strange colours, confusing interface and software which worked only under windows 98 and required goind through endless animations todo anything with it.Models were strange looking and instructions just electronic. And it spoke only german (I was not able to get english software anywhere). -

8880 Supercar build help.
Cwetqo replied to Soluzar's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I got the same problem when I was building it (5 years ago). Instructions are wrong or misleading. I was building with some bad scans so it was really hard to see how axle should be positioned. -
Set Falling apart while trying to build.
Cwetqo replied to Savage Oppress's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I had some trouble with UCS millenium Falcon. Those panels are just laid on and keep moving or even falling of. Only stable part on it is main chasis, which could luckily be accesed when you remove top turret, everything else is unstable. Anothe annoying set is SW Battle of Endor set. Building with shield generator is built on hinged plates with bad clip mechanism and to lock it you need to use too much forceand many times the buildng just falls apart. Other thing are side panels. They are just laid on and those on front even have "exploding" mechanism with very light trigger, whic sometimes triggers if you just lift the set. -
[REVIEW] 42000 Grand Prix Racer
Cwetqo replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I know, I have Williams F1 and stickers are in really bad shape. But dont you think that sticker quality has improved over the years? On old set they seem almost like paper, but newer stickers seem much better and could in most cases even be removed and re-applied. -

This set looks MUCH better without stickers. -
Old Technic sets losing value?
Cwetqo replied to mobi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
E-bay are low for at least few years. I bought almost all flagship sets for amounts between 30 and 70 euro in the past five years. Its bricklink that are insanely high. On of the reasons is that "E-bay boom" is over and we all seem to have gotten all our missed childhood sets. In last 5-10 years E-bay has become widely popular and people were finally able to purchase all missed sets and that kept prices high. Other reason is that in the past five years lego technic has seen quite an revolution in design and parts (mostly power functions but also other stuff like panels, frames etc...). This has made most of older sets incompatible and obsolete. Set 8258 is typical case of set with lots of usefull parts (panels, la-s, frames, wheels) and thats why its price is fairly high. -

Thank you for this information. We were already at German Legoland with him last spring and even then he was able to use some of the atractions (with me of course). Ok, I will discuss this with my wife and see what will come out of it. -

How about KFOL-s? Is it ok to bring them or is it adult exclusive event? I am also thinking about coming to event and have been already discussing with Redhead1982 to come together (we are both members of slovenian LUg and live not far away from each other). I just need to what to do with my wife and 2 1/2 year son. They could come with me, but if this event is mostly adult orient then I see no point in doing so. I would of course prefer to come alone, but that might be difficult to arrange (you know how it is with wifes: one day ith might be ok and the other not anymore ) Otherwise, I just ordered larger car (Skoda Superb Combi), so I excpect very nice trip and lots of space for purchased lego. I also know Munich very well (from 1997 to 2003 I was in town almost every other week for business). U bahn and S are great ways of transportation and I stopped going to city center with car long time ago. Riem Arcaden mall also has attached U bahn station and large parking garage, so its fairly easy to reach city centre from there. Obleterrer is really great toy store and worth visiting, but do not expect anything special from lego there. Selection is pretty much the same as in Muller stores (which owns them) and its really other toys (model trains, rc stuff etc) which make it so good. Regarding visiting Munchen with train: its nice and comfortable, but If there are 3 or 4 people in car its so cheaper and it could be really annoying if you plan to buy several large item in lego store. I had just one transported several large "regular" boxes (city farm, police station and large castle) and could really not imagine what would I do with lets say 2 or 3 modulars, death star etc... Please note that you would have to tranport this first to U-bahn, ralay on one station, transfer to to main train station and at destination again to car. And I usually bougth the whole car trunk at lego store, because I was also buying stuff for my colegues, LUG members etc... -
New NXT imminent?
Cwetqo replied to JopieK's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I wrote long time ago that we will get new nxt in 2013. It just remains to be seen whether it will be just small change (like in nxt 2) or will we finally see unification with other lego themes and switch to pf standard. -
Lego Technic 2013 sets & info
Cwetqo replied to captainmib's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I myself like the idea of one motor flagship. That means a lot of parts and interesting transmissions including gearbox. Sets like 9398 are tgood to play but snot o interesting to assemble. -
I think "old town" is not revived one of old themes, but subtheme with old style buildings and cars. Its just my speculation though and I dont beleive that we will know anything more before Nurnberg fair.

Should I sell my Sandcrawler now or later?
Cwetqo replied to interestedpen's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Its very likely that lego will release new version next year (either that or mtt) so If I were you I would sell it now. -
Welcome! (ima nas puno :) )

It was like this in prelim pics (i even wrote that its re-issue of helicopter from old set), but not on final pics.

Look at the white building with red roof and grey basement in the background. It fist very nicely with what I heard would be one of 2h2013 Creator sets (large white/ multi storey house with lots of windows). I just hope that colour is not final, because I'm bored of white/red houses.
