I would be very happy to see another Falcon Knights set, because it was my first lego castle 30 years ago and I still have warm memories about it, but at this stage its really impossible to tell. It will not be D2C set, beacuse those are well guarded we usualy get to know about them just days before official presentation. My bet is on Dragon Castle, but this is just my speculation.

I heard something about "large brown tracked vehicle, which holds a lot of droids" for 2013. Do you think its MTT or Java set from 4-th movie?
-
Well, from what I heard we coud as well rename this to "2014 Train Sets" or even "201x Train Sets"
-
Next year Johnny Depp will starr in two major Disney movies: PoTC 5 and Lone Ranger. I think that there is pretty good possbility that Lego will make something of it.

I agree with, but unfortunately "suits" think different. First, regarding limited number of sets: this was put in place ater tlgs huge losses at the beginning of last decade and it still stands firmly today. And I also dont gree about trains in other themes. We got this and it was not succesful (harry potter, toy story, monster fighters). This also answers idea about western train: we got one two years ago and it was ome od worst selling trains ever ( i still see several boxes on shop at 50% off and no ome wants to buy), so I dont think its possible that we will see another train in next years western theme.

8288 Crawler Crane
Cwetqo replied to PlaneCrazy's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Dont worry, lego hears your wishes. 2013 will be great year, thats all I have to say :) -
Well, despite what I said it seems could be wrong and we might be getting additional sets after all. I got info that its in consideration and according to this I think that it is possible that we get some more, maybe not full wave but another set or two, like in Kingdoms (which was also well recepted and got additional small wave and exclusive set and will get at least one new set, besides chess).
-
That will not happen, because TLG has limited number of sets each year and they will those empty spaces for sets with such limited potential user base as lego trains. Why limited? If they make lets say truck, house or ship, anyone could be interested in buying it, but for trainsupplemental sets only those owning the train could be considered. And, even if lego trains are very popular, not so many people own them. Out of twenty or so AFOLs which I know in person maybe four or five owns trains. Its sad, but thats how world turns today.

I also think so. We got vampyres, ghosts, zombies, warewolf, frankenstein, castle, graveyard, mansion, cars, carriages, planes etc... What else could we get? I could easily think of tens of new ideas for pirates, city, sw, lotr etc..., but not for MF and lets say farm, alien conquest and other more limited themes

What look to be the 2012 "must have" sets
Cwetqo replied to Faefrost's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I agree with moste of the above. For me personally must haves are: -Vampyre Castle (best castle up to date) -Gandalf arrives (to have at least one LOTR set) -all three SW OT ships (x-wing, y-wing, TIE) (always wanted them) -Droid Escape (great figs) -Desert skiff (antoher not expensiv set with great figs) -Superman set (lego superman - must have) -Batmobile set (always wanted batmobile) -4x4 crawler And, if the money will allow, each of three large sets, which are all great, but too much for my pocket: Helms Deep, City Garage and The mine. I am not counting in Town Hall and sopwith camel, which are also great, but will have to wait for next year. -
[REVIEW] 9398 - Rock Crawler
Cwetqo replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
In published partslist it show partnumber 4629921, which finds this on BL: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2739b But you are right, I beleive the right parts is this: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=2739a&in=S Which is also in Unimog and 8070 (as alternative). At least I remember this part (without stoppers) from some recent sets. -
[REVIEW] 9398 - Rock Crawler
Cwetqo replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Those rods were in many (22) sets, including 8070, 8145, 8110 and others. -
Unfortunately, I think its not possible. The problem is that by the time those sets went on sale, pretty much all of 2013 sets and lineups (including 2H) were complete and fixed. I know a thing or two about this things from my (non lego related) work and I'm pretty sure that TLG-s development-planning-production is much longer than those 4-5 months which are left before we get first 2013 models. First sets usually appear around black friday, add to that production and distribution and you will see that there is no time for such large changes as changing whole theme. Same goes for 2H, beacuse 1H and 2H are always planned together, to achieve optimal distribution between themes and price ranges. TLG is now testing customers reaction to 2013 sets and deciding on 2014 lineups, but even for those there is not so much space left for changes, because of additional (besides SW, Technic and other )long running themes like Ninjago and Friends, which leaves just few spaces free.
-
Could be, because there are 3 ghosts in one of the 10228 pics and there just 2 in the set. Plus, that clock would fit very nicely in haunted house.

It works, but the train is a lot faster. I have it on Toy Story Train in it works ok if there is enough load to slow down train.

2013 Speculation?
Cwetqo replied to andythenorth's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
After last years events I decided not to post or even ask about any real news about next years sets. Remember theme: "Lego will never make 4x4 crawler" :) People are just not ready for this kind of news without pics, so I guess we will all have wait untli late summer when catalogue will be out. But be sure: 1 and 2h sets ready, together with prelim boxes and prices. What I would like to see is 1:8 formula racer as flagship and (pf) forklift as second set. -
Its listed as available now at german S@H (at least garage, hospital an mining truck). I guess US got LOTR first and we got City and Monster Fighters. Too bad I'm good three hours away from nearest TLG shop, so It will have to wait for wider availability.

Does Anyone else find they frequently cross Themes?
Cwetqo replied to Faefrost's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I do that a lot. Lateest example is vampire castle, which I bought for castle diorama. On it I also plan to use PoP Battle for the Dagger and Hagrids Hut. I used Toy Story Trash Compactor in my city layout for cargo station and Woodys roundup and TS3 train for western setup, along with city's Bandit Hideout. And large green trash truck from Toy Story goes really nice with ModelTeam trucks. -
Technic Update
Cwetqo replied to sama's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
PF Forklift would make fine, playable model. Submarine would also be nice, maybe as "1H flagship" (largest set from first half of year). I am also very disapointed they we did not get new shuttle. Just imagine all those white parts... -
Set name edited. Could moderator also change topic name?
-
According to my experience, time is about right for first information about 1H AND 2H sets for 2013 Regarding Polar Xpress: too bad its not new version of 10173. I was somehow expecting it this year.
-
Thanks for correct name. I guess I will have to correct ma review, eh. Unfortunately, only US boxes have names and piece counts, but now, when I see this, I remembered, that when checking my VIP account, I noticed somthing strange. So, I checked agai, and it surely says " 4429 Helicopter Rescue V29".
-
I agree with all above. I have 30 years old ambulance set and it also uses panels. Its only way to fit stretcher into 4 wide vehicle.
-
After sleeping on it I still think its worth 7 out of 10. Problem with all of us (including me) is that we expected something large, police station sized. But TLGs policiy is such that City theme can have just one 100+ eur set per year and this year it will be park garage (which is ok with me). Its true that they shoud have do it a little differently, maybe to rise the price for 10-20 euro and make something fire-station sized, or leave the price as it is and make smaller helicopter. But that would again take away a lot of playability (my son enjoys loading up patient in the chopper very much). So, only thing I really dont agree with is really poorly equiped interior. On the other side I like minifigs very much. They have reflective paramedic stripes, front and back printing and even leg printing on two of them and only thing missing is nurse (and better printing, but I expect that to be fixed).
