  1. My opinion: I like your MOC, I don't know about the overhang though, I suggest you PM Mister Phes/Slyowl/Phred/... The woodworks of your tower look really great! Possible improvements: 1) A shak made out of stone on top of a wooden towerframe looks a bit "unlogical", but since it is a MOC, it is only a minor issue, especcialy because the colors look so good. 2) I think the ladder would look better in brown, to represent rope. 3) Perhaps a pirate could put the tower on fire? This would force the poor woman down for sure... Non-brick related advise: 1) Your pics are a bit dark IMO. 2) Some minor spelling/grammar mistakes (or typos): eg. to an abandoned watch tower Great work Etzel, keep it up .
  2. My opinion: Your entry to the "big" division of the PTV contest has really succeeded in capturing the cruelty that goes hand-in-hand with the pirate life, so a big from me. Possible improvements: 1) Try to give more "expressions" to your pirates, to begin with giving them more suitable faces, but also by (eg.) letting "dance" the pirate that turns the wheel (they are supposed to have fun torturing, and if not they should act it to destroy their victims spirit). 2) I would have put the soldiers head halfway into the barrel, this way people could see the pirate executioner means "business" 3) More details to the torture room: blood would look nice in this particular case (to frighten their victims), a sword or spear that penetrates the skeleton? Non-brick related advise: 1) Remember that it is your first pic that will be judged. IMHO the 3rd pic (the one taken from above) looks better, if you could take one that includes the two pirates in its whole. 2) A small typo in your text: eg. cannon blasts. PS: what about adding a skeleton head beneath your beautiful texts? Look here if you are interested. Nothing else, except for that you maybe should better centre the last pic as well, just to obtain a little better view. Personaly I think this last pic is not really necessary either, since the other side is so much better there is no need to include this side as well, and if you do I would advise to add another pirate guard instead of Captain Black again.
  3. My opinion: Looks great, Fenrir! You get a from me. There are more burried treasures MOCs into this contest, but then every "real" pirate had one for his own I guess. Possible improvements: 1) You used standard faces. I think your minifigs would look far better with real expressions on their faces. Do you have any other (non-standard) faces? 2) I would have made both pirates walk in front of the Captain, so you can see their faces and expressions. The captain would be stupid to shoot them right above his treasure anyway, since that would leave quite a landmark (or a lot of work removing them). 3) I think it could use some more color, details...well I don't know how to explain but I give you some suggestions: add some gems to the treasure if you have them and perhaps a treasure map lying somewhere on the ground, looking like it has just been written down. Stuff like that I mean... Non-brick related advise: 1) Unleash his furry ??? His furry cat? Fury would be better, and although the introduction looks great, cutting up words like that makes it look a bit unprofessional (IMHO).
  4. I just joined the team (as a starter). Wow...you finaly seem to have aquired some self-knowledge. Self-knowledge and understanding is the beginning of true Wisdom, Zuloo! And I doubt anyone who needs permission from his mom to join a forum would be that valuable to C-P (not that I want to interfere or something). But it's always good you offered help, Thomas B.
  5. My opinion: Sorry, but this seems a bit "out of theme" to me... Can't you replace the knights with pirates or soldiers? The beach is awesome! The level of details you added is fantastic! Your fort and ship do look very nice as well! Possible improvements: 1) Well...as said: the knights don't belong in a PTV contest. It was made clear by Mr. Phes himself. 2) The tower seems a bit unfinished. Maybe you could add a flag or cannonpost on top of it? 3) I can live with the wolf flag, but if I were you I would try to add some kind of sails as well. 4) More tiles? Especcialy on the castle walls they might look good. (If you have more that is). Non-brick related advise: 1) A story might help to attract more attention. 2) There is a broken link between your pics, what does it link to? 3) A title! You need a title for this MOC (next to the description I mean)! And if it is a WIP, please post that too, so we know it is ready or not.
  6. I have both types of them too. I thought this was common knowledge BTW.
  7. Good find, Captain Zuloo! BUT YOU OF ALL should know you had to resize it
  8. My opinion: Looks good and on topic, Majek! And I love the Fire Nation's banners. Possible improvements: 1) Maybe the slave trader's face could look into the lens? I think that would be better, and are you certain about that head you used for him/her? 2) No gold coins for Captain Roger? Is that silver/gold he is paying with? In that time gold and silver was mostly molded into bars, but then again: this is only a minor issue. 3) Epaulettes without a uniform? Well, I guess it's mainly for the looks... 4) A crying face for the woman-(sex?)slave might be better suited to represent cruelty . 5) A parrot on top of the leaves (on that free dot) might look good too, since it adds to the color pattern. Non-brick related advise: 1) Typo: buiyng should be buying 2) A small story always looks nice.
  9. My opinion: Nice, but the concept has been done before. You finished it nicely and it follows the rules. Possible improvements: 1) The helmet doesn't really belong to the age of pirates. Don't you have a Spanish conquistador helmet? Or just another bandana, even bald might be better... 2) Give the pirate a sword of something, so he looks more like an actual pirate. 3) The SNOT aspect is well done, but maybe you could add some light blue bricks next to the coastline (to represent it). Non-brick related advise: 1) A story is always nice.
  10. "I'm tired...how much longer do we have to keep killing these monsters. I want a drink, and I want it now!" And our heroes went to the café, having loads of booz to celebrate this victory, how stupid they were to think it was actually over. One hour later, the dreamteam was pretty loaded by now, they went outside to inhale some fresh air and suddenly saw....
  11. Yeah, a happy B-day from me too Hinckley, as well as to the other ones that celebrate their birthdays today!
  12. 2000 Russian Rubles are worth about 75 USD, for those who want to know. I don't know if there already is a Russian eBay, I know they were talking about licensing one, but I didn't find a link on eBay.com There are some small Russian Bricklink stores, but I fear none of them is currently selling Pirates Lego. So I must agree this is probably his best way to purchase Pirates Lego.
  13. I don't get through at all....and I tried it at least a dozen times today (each time multiple loads). Man...this way I never finish my review of the SES.
  14. My opinion: I was a bit late to see your first version, so I will comment on the one I see now (after your second update): You have gotten about everything out of this small MOC that you can, I like the crumbling walls and the pirate climbing up from the water. So a big from me! Possible improvements: 1) The Imperial soldier on top of the wall really shouldn't just be walking: he should have seen the pirate sooner and the impact of that cannonball hitting the wal should "awake" him too . 2) Listen to the other one's advise as well, since they already said it, I am not going to repeat it anymore. 3) Do you own any plumes? They can "smuck" up the look of the hats and the MOC in its whole. Non-brick related advise: 1) Maybe you can take a pic that shows more of the minifigs facial expressions, since IMHO that is a mayor part of the MOC. You can experiment by rotating the camera or you can just change the position of the minifigs heads.
  15. Great set and great review! I love these Walkers, great to build an army: 1 AT-AT, 20 or more infantry-clones, some speeders and some of these, led by a commander...my dream army.
  16. And I wish you boath a lot of Lego, money and love! To ScrypT: my fellow Belgian: may the holy brick always surround you .
  17. Then Zorro said to Dennimator: we take one group into that direction, while Captain Zuloo and Hinckley search that way... and so they split... Then why didn't you PM instead of posting such a large useless message? And everyone else (I even PMd them) understand my lines...I only tried to correct a really bad situation where they get eaten, fight, kill monster, monster not dead because repellant, fight again, swallows again,...IMHO that makes no sence.
  18. errrrr....again??? and the mud was dead... favorite destination when travelling?.....then the monster realized he had his last flashback-dreams and that he had already swallowed them and that he was dead...so he also acted as a dead monster! Our heroes used their sabers to slice their way out straight throught the dead monster's meat. They expected to arrive above ground again but instead they ended up in a large cave with a small river flooding through it and the only light came from some fireflies...
  19. Hi there! Welcome to the EB community, I hope you will feel at home here.
  20. ...the monster took them in his mouth and swallowed them in hole, and so our heroes only awoke after several hours....in the Monsters stomach...a dark place, only lightened by the blue and red of our heroes' lightsabers....
  21. fleshies sometimes come in handy. Great review and good set, but as said by other: another Russian soldier (or two) would be fine, TLC is being a bit too much of a cheapskate regarding minifigs lately.
  22. Very good, drags you right into the Clone Wars! not too busy for me, in the movies there were so many units on such small space.
  23. And then zorro, carrying his red lightsaber, said: "It seems we have won this one, men.... . Now we only have to find the Fabuland collection Hinckley stole when he was still evil. Do you have any idea where you have hidden it, Hinckley?" And Hinckley responded:.....
  24. I like it . But SWMAN could be right, i never saw many members support of the theme here on EB...
  25. Yup, great work, LegoKing! Of course I already saw it in the Academy, but with the improvements you've made it really looks good, so . I like the set as much as the review: two speederbikes, 3 minifigs and a small brickset for a measly 10 USD...boy, why was this released in my dark ages ? Keep up the good work, LegoKing
