  1. it 'll be frontpaged on Classic Pirates pretty soon Good job, Lego12
  2. It looks very good, if master Phes agrees, it goes straight to the frontpage!
  3. My opinion: Paul Cantu, once again you have proven to be a great MOC builder. The theme of this entry is both funny and cruel, and I like it! Possible improvements: 1) I would add some additional details to your entry's ground. More plants and perhaps a height difference like in Erdbeereis1' suggestion. 2) Replacing the first pirate with the second could improve your MOC as well I think, the pirate being stabbed only shows his back, the only one shows his torso so I would prefer a real pirate torso for that. 3) As said by most others, the rocks look a bit unrealistic, making them larger could fix that problem. Non-brick related advise: 1) The second and fourth picture are better for judgement purposes but I would take a fresh one, always remember to show as much as you can and that the minifigs should look into the lens whenever possible.
  4. My opinion: Way to go Sir Nadroy! But why are you destroying those new guards? Wouldn't it be easier to just send them to me? That house looks really good btw, and so do the minifigs you've chosen for this MOC . Possible improvements: It was made by Sir Nadroy, who am I to judge ? Anyway, maybe as Edbeis1 said the balcony could be improved and I would generate some brick made smoke from behind the quartered Quartermasters quarter. Also I would use an improved version of the third picture for judging purposes, that shows just a bit more of the soldier inside.
  5. He sure is a talented MOCcer yes, I found some of his Betty serie mocs on Darkspawns page, I don't know its his first betty Moc though... I remember the one where Betty stabs a Pirate in a bar to join them. Maybe that is the first one? Darkspawn, are you around here to give us some explanation?
  6. With pain in the heart I am selling one of my two Skulls Eye Schooners to raise some funds for the new Pirate sets. The ship is in excellent condition, especcialy the sails. Instructions included, also in very good condition, NO BOX! Preferrably only Europe since shipping costs outside the EU are quite high in Belgium. Shipping costs: real shipping prices: 26 euro inside EU or to USA/Israel, 13 euro to the Netherlands or Luxemburg, 7 inside Belgium. Eurobricksmember Price = 130 Euro. Cheaper then Bricklink! I prefer IBAN, but Paypal is an option. You can also make an offer if you want to. Also a 7745 High-Speed City Express Passenger Train COMPLETE In very good condition, original instructions are included NO BOX ! for 170 Euro.
  7. My opinion: A very original and well-made MOC, this is maybe the most creative entry of the entire division! I like it a lot, so cruel and piraty. Possible improvements: 1) The facial expression of the guy looks a bit out of place, unless he is glad to get rid of his wife/girlfriend ! It is a bit neutral for me, but if you don't have any other, it is always better then a standard head. 2) I would make it even more cruel. I would add a barrel behind the girl, representing a barrel filled with gunpowder or explosives. He doesn't know that and the girl can't tell because she has been gagged. 3) Some details, like a shovel against the wall next to the girl, a rat like Guss suggests. Non-brick related advise: 1) Try to leave some space between the most important sentences, it makes the text easier to read.
  8. My opinion: Looks like an average to good MOC, the "theme" has already been done though. Still it holds some great potential. Possible improvements: 1) Try to make it look even more cruel, the soldier that splatted against the door shouldn't have clean hair like he has now, and the blood would look better if you used trans-red bricks or plates like Strawberry1 suggested. 2) I would add some stuff to the desert, maybe some plants or weapons from the battle between pirates and soldiers? 3) Maybe you could display some brown plates or bricks next to the gate, so it looks like the soldiers crushing against it do at least some damage. Or to make it look like the pirates tried to get in before. Non-brick related advise: 1) Always think of the fact ONLY your first picture will be used for judging purposes! Taking a picture like your fifth one and improving it a little (make everything of the MOC visible) would be the best I think.
  9. My opinion: You have a good start for making a nice entry, although a lot of work needs to be done yet. The giant squid looks very good, especcialy because it is brick made. Possible improvements/suggestions: 1) If you have the manpower and bricks, add a battery of multiple cannons just behind the shore and target them at the giant squid. This way we have a real battle! 2) Adding more details and houses, minifigs and stuff would be logically. Erdbeereis1 has some nice suggestions, like that statue or fountain! 3) Your coastal line looks a bit weird, too straight actually. Since it is a lot of work changing that, you might try to hide it a bit, by adding items to the water like destroyed boats. Non-Brick related advise: 1) For such a large MOC I always suggest you take the pictures at 800x640. 2) When you take your definitive pictures, try adding a white background, that way all the attention goes to your MOC.
  10. After calling to the Belgian Lego Customers services department I found out that TLC will release both IMPULSE packs in January and the rest of the sets in March (BeNeLux)! I presume this will be so for the rest of Europe as well though. The guy I spoke too also said the US sales were FAR above expectancy. Go Lego go!
  11. My opinion: Nice entry, Nich Artri, I really like those giant arms from the cave creature! Cruel enough as well as creative. I like it! Possible improvements: 1) Add a second dead body to the ocean's ground, with lots of blood and parts that have already been eaten (next to the skeletons I mean) 2) Maybe a shark or other animal that swims around? That's all for now, I just can't see much else about how to improve this MOC! It's so good already .
  12. Yes, you have to ask a staff member, since we can't edit such things. If you wait a minute I will ask it for you.
  13. Yes, you are completely right! And the 'creative critics' (including me) often say the contestors to tile this or that, but I know that in many cases they just ran out of tiles. That is no problem at all, it is just advise. We try to offer as much as possible, because we are also involved in a contest! Now about the improvements you made: I really like them! You gave your mansion a nice interior and a chimney! And I can see lots of other improvements as well. My remaining advise: - I would use the fourth picture as your main picture, since I think that one not only looks the best, but also shows the most! - Adding a story, even a short one, always gives you a small advance! That's it for now, you have done an outstanding job .
  14. My opinion: Great work, Paul Cantu, and...and... you used a new guard! Marvelous! The pirates and his skullpile look so cruel. You have also chosen a good facial expression for the pirate, only I think you might have 'finished' the dead soldier a bit better. Possible improvements: 1) I would have added some blood from the killed guard, flowing over the skulls if that could be done. 2) The soldiers dead body should lie down a bit lower to be more realistic, since his corps is a lot heavier then those empty skulls. MINOR thing though. 3) I think, I might be wrong of course, that the pirate would look better when he was "dancing" a bit (move one leg forward, the other one he uses to stand upon and his back leans a bit backwards). Just a thought. 4) Another MINOR point: try to let the dead soldier's decapitated head look into the lens, unless you don't have a suitable facial expression for him that is... Non-brick related advise: 1) So cruel, I would add a slightly larger story to it though, that way it would be even more cruel!
  15. My opinion: Very good, Lt. De Martinet! Although we have seen cannibalism MOCS before, I always seem to like them! Possible improvements: 1) I would give the Captain a big knife in his hands... 2) Why just pointing the gun? Let him be dead already!Blood everywhere and possibly one arm cut off (which the Captain holds into his other hand!) Mjamie! 3) Some more details: like an epaulette, a plume and maybe even a fish (shark) in the water that gives the Captain a bit of competition? Non-brick related advise: 1) Perhaps you could add more pictures? One that shows a bit more of the pirate fetching his paddle perhaps, with the Captain lurking behind him!
  16. My opinion: A reasonably good entry at this point. The idea is very good and I think the jealous and kind off "retarded" pirate women actually did this to each other and to their prisoners, especcialy when a lot of gold could depend on it. Possible improvements: 1) Do you have a torso that looks like the minifigs cloaths are ripped apart? That would add a second dimension to Lust's level of jealousy . 2) Your entry would benefit from some more details and colors, so maybe adding a barrel and lantern (EDeis1) could fix that problem. A chimney on the roof and a rat in the alley are other possibilities. 3) Like Erdbeereis1 suggested, tiling the streets and/or roof would probably make it look better, although you need the pieces to do it. 4) Like Paul Cantu says, putting in a person behind the window that is upset could be a good idea. Maybe you just have the dots available if you let the minifig "lean out" a bit. Non-brick related advise: 1) Your first picture is the one that will be judged (the only one!) I would therefore let the minifigs look into the lens, you can do this by changing your camera viewpoint and/or by changing the position of the heads.
  17. Happy birthday Zepher, I wish you loads of happyness, Lego and money. But why don't you fill in your birthday date on your profile, this way we can see when it's your time to be celebrated and open a thread for you !
  18. Looks very good Erdbeereis1, a real improvement! Now it looks like it is a real island and the ship is sailing around it. from me.
  19. Aaron Andrews has begun another round of Pirate creations and this time they feature the adventures of a comely lass, name of Backstabbin’ Betty! Undead pirates?... surely not! Monkey skull Island turns out to be more of an adventure than anticipated. Betty sure does get a lot of exercise. Boy, what do I like this MOC ! Betty, I you! *STAB* (Zorro drops dead) So what do you think of The adventures of Betty the Backstabber ???
  20. My opinion: Beautiful, guss, especcialy the theme you've chosen is fantastic! I like to see more pictures of Captain Zuloo being massacred like this (his sigfig, not the good man himself ). Possible improvements: 1) Tile the roof as well. Thats it for now. Great entry!
  21. Thanks guys, I am going to make the following improvements thanks to your advise: - Brown lamp - Dark grey for the floors - A good cleaning - The guard will be building the wall
  22. I agree with the fact they belong to the best! I even like them more then the old guards. Please let those impulse packs become available in Belgium ASAP.
  23. They call them "Pirates II" now. Click here to see them. We can find one inventory already (not confimed yet!) Cannon Battle
  24. You are too young to drink rum, Mister Zuloo ! Very nice find though , I never seen someone make this with Lego before.
  25. My opinions: A very good MOC, sooo cruel Expanding your story could make this even better! Possible improvements: 1) Tile the siderails of your ship, that always looks better I think. 2) The prisoners should have their arms raised. Non-brick related advise: 1) Try to add a bit longer story.
