...attack everyone and everything around it, destroying the township...the surviving members knew there was only one men that could stop them...a brave and fierce warrior, dressed in black with a black cape, named ZORRO...unfortunatly he was already dead because, once again, he had too much to drink and he jumped from a roof. Now there was someone that could resurrect the poor "fox", and that would be Bonaparte: gifted with magical powers and being one of the brethen Zorro belonged to.....

I am the evil counterpart of the real Hinckley, send by the demonic rulers of Hell (the EB staff), who lost his rotten heart and is now looking to do good! I will protect the evil name of the Hinckley-clan! And he...

Captain Green Pie said to Sinner: now, why did you do that?...and Sinner answered: don't worry, I won't eat you, I already have eaten 40Kg of Mega Macks. Suddenly the window of the mac Donalds was blown apart by an unidentified impact, grey dustclouds everywhere.....

Need help with identifying a couple of pieces
Zorro replied to Quarryman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
One of THESE + a sticker? There are some others with different patterns for sale, but those are all stickers, so are you certain it isn't one? -
Yes, Victoria likes Lego, but she only has few time because she has so much work in her inn. (she owns an inn where one can stay to sleep as well) If you have more questions about her please PM me. (so we won't disturb the other members in this topic)

...and then Sinner, enraged from this combined with what he had to go through these last days, bit off Captain Green Hairs head using his mighty tusks while ripping his remnants apart with his bare hands...the poor Captains body was split right open and his pounding hart fell on the floor... Yes, I know, but I felt I had to add some story to it, since some others only put in a few measly words making it only harder for us to remember everything and to build up a good/funny storyline.

My opinion: Your MOC certainly pleases me, Talon Karrde, I love the ladders and the minifigs look great. So does the fort and the pirate sloops . Possible improvements: 1) I think the beach looks to flat. Maybe you could add some rocks or height differences, and I also agree with Erdbeereis1' second point about the waterline. 2) One thing that disturbs me a bit, is the fact both soldiers on the wall have the same face. 3) The cannonpost looks a bit useless: it hasn't got any (more?) cannonballs and it seems it can collapse at any given minute now...why did you give it such a weakened wooden platform, and how did they get that cannon up there? Then again, it doesn't show its weakness from the front, so maybe you really should consider taking a pic from that angle. With this pic, the cannon nearly doesn't show at all...(also see N-b advise point 1) 4) Little details: as adding a brown flagpole (imperial flag) instead of the grey one to make it look more realistic. And I would have added at least one pirate pushing one of the sloops on land. Non-brick related advise: 1) As said, try to add more pictures to your thread. Off course only the first one counts, but it is easier for the "judges" and it might attract more attention. 2) I think a photo taken from the waterside might look better. As stated above this pic doesn't show everything as good as is possible. And you should always use the best pic for judging. Did you try taking a pic from this direction? 3) Texts and stories are easier to read if some space is left between the sentences. Also you used some unusual words. eg. "the town was still", better would be "the town was silent". But this is only a minor issue...

I actually voted for red, since I really like the colors of the SES, brown is a very close second and is probably the most realistic.

Sabre Island, BTW I made a review over it in the Academy, I own the set since the release and played with it many times (made it a forepost of the Imperial Trade post)
-
It depends...if I already have the set and then I would get the oppurtunity to buy a MISB set at a fair price, I will not doubt and buy it, just to leave it untouched somewere in my closet. Not to sell (maybe, if I get a small fortune), but to keep it as a memorablia. I only have one MISB set...(a blue falcon catapult)more like ISB anyway since the box is damaged.

Model team
Zorro replied to Buttons's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yup, I'm in. I have that huge yellow van. I must admit it lies somewhere broken up in one of the Lego boxes, but I remember the line very well. It was one of the last things I bought before entering the so-called "Dark Ages". Let's start a petition ! -
That's my wife . I have said it more then once that there is a Mrs. Zorro .Well...wife...I'm not married to her...just together for a very long time.

I guess they are refering to the large door in the back were the garbageworkers dump the garbage in... I think this miniset looks nice, but as I said before they are not my thing. I want big and detailed sets.

Looks incredible , those dwarves marching with that song...but what about posting more then one pic next time and maybe a story? (no critic, just want to see more of it faster)

Which would you buy - The Caribbean Clipper or Red Beard Runner?
Zorro replied to Big T's topic in LEGO Pirates
I choose the Carribean Clipper too, since it is one of the older ships and those look the best. IMHO TLC has made a "contra-advance" if it comes down to looks and quality of it's ships from the Pirate line. from BSB to SES to RBR from CC to IF (they are both quite good) to the spanish flagship (can't recal the name) -
Wow, that looks very good, great find MoWo, that battle between skellies and crownnies looks amazing, and the building of those dark Lords is finished into it's smallest details ! The offeringtable looks awesome as well, only those aliens defending the portal look a bit out of place...

Cause I told you to! Didn't you notice the smilie? This is a silly discussion indeed, but I cannot agree if people call me a wrong-thinker. (watch the smilies....) I also should have posted the defense of my arguments in my first post, but who could have know that dearest Sandy was going to lecture me (I am not saying she is wrong at all BTW)...reminds me to my time on high school...when the girls corrected me all the time as well. (no Zorro, that is not 20inches....maybe 2 or 3, but not 20... ) (no offense intended)

Mint (condition) In Sealed Box EDIT: looks like I was beaten to it by Sir richie

Cool, he should still have his title, and independant dukes can beknight people, so maybe you should ask him: then next time we have to say: Sir Guss, knight of the Brunswick Order. Does that sound nice or not?

Preference of Imperial Guard Epaulette colour
Zorro replied to Peg Leg Pascoe's topic in LEGO Pirates
Blue and red as well, maybe gold into the future. -
I am from Europe too (Belgium), have my bachelor in history, and speak both French and English so I am aware of the geographical layout of Europe .I was referring more to West-Europe anyway, and I am certain that in France, Belgium, Luxemburg, Andorra, Monaco, Swiss, The Netherlands, Germany and Italy, French is being at least being understood, not spoken, at some level since in most of these countries it is a mandatory language at mid-school level. I also agree ENTIRELY with your statement that English has the better chanche of being understood by the local population, English is still the primary world language, only seconded by Chinese (most spoken language worldwide, but only understood in China: therefore only second). French is spoken by far less people on an international level then both of these, that is true, but let us not forget it is the intention of the European Commision to make French the secondary MANDATORY language in schools all over Europe (currently only English is obligatory by the EU). It is GERMAN BTW, that is the most widely spoken mother tongue of Europe. I am almost certain more then half the people living in West-Europe understand French. If you are referring to the entity of Europe in it's broadest sence, you have to include countries as Russia (Western parts), Romania and Turkey: making up about 40% of the European population, and how much people speak English down there, you think? Russia maybe a third or a fourth, but in Turkey only part of the youth and inhabitants of metropolitan area's I'm afraid. French would be totaly useless there, except for those living near the Syrian and Cylisian borders... I know for a fact exactly 48% of Europeans understand English if these countries are include (learned it in history class, for French this is still 31%, and German 26%) I just looked it up again as well. The given source in my book is (translated) the CIA study of human facts around the world. French also rules over English in some parts of the world: think of Africa. And again: I agreed with English being the primary language even in my previous posts, why do I have to defend French...Guss, that's your task! PS: sorry for my spelling mistakes. Had to type this in a rush. This lecture was brought to you by Zorro: "words of justice!"

I am relating to the German Duchy of Brunswick, a nation that changed sides/ownership more then once during the Napoleonic wars. Before 1815 it carried different names according to who owned it: Brunswick-Lüneburg, part of Westphalia, Hannover,...read its history at wikipedia The building you are referring to most probably belongs to the legacy of Charles II, duke of Brunswick, the former ruler that had to flee it's homeland. He left his entire (enormous) fortune to the city of Geneva, and consructed or funded many buildings during his life there (incl. the Grand Opera of Geneva)I think the monument on your picture was constructed by/for him too.

Who's Buck? Does Chuck Norris really have a brother named Buck or is this funtalk? Or are you guys referring to Captain Green Hair... I didn't know Chuck Norris had such a bad temper...he looks like a nice guy in Walker, Texas Ranger. Ok...how does one mix up a pirate with a santaclause stomtrooper?
-
That would be nice, please let us know in this thread if you posted it. LDD is good as a "engineering map", but I think if you show these MOCs in real life, they will look awesome, especcialy because you can quickly make more improvements by looking at it (if that is desired). way to go, KDog!

If I think of Elves, I automaticaly think of LOTR, I think JRR Tolkien did a fine job describing them and the producers of the movie made it even better (although slightly unrealistic to Tolkiens values). Orcs are the counterparts of the elves: the first orcs were once elves, captured by darkness and tortured, humiliated and massacred during their entire lives, for generations and generations (and as u know, an elve is nearly immortal), their childrens children ultimatly became the orcs: allergic to light due to their lives underground. I like the set above, including the helmet and bow, I must admit it could be done better but...is it one of his earlier works (BF)?
