  1. Can't come. Been kidnapped by Megablocks. Being tortured for information about TLG I don't have. HELP !!! GET ME OUT ! THEY ARE MAKING ME BUILD PIRATE SHIPS AND SETS WITH MEGABLOCKS ! HELP ME, I AM GOING CRAZY... help...(being choked to silence by a Megablocker)
  2. EDIT: Damn you were faster Dennimator !
  3. I would really like to see the "African" explorers (not the same as the suggested World Explorers, and I don't care if it would be historical or not, I just like the theme a lot), I think this would be a fun theme since it offers so many: fighting between the explorer and his team and some local tribesmen, semi-cultural information, many diversity by adding more then one tribe (eg. the bushmen, the Zulus, slavetraders, the...) In addition some treasures like diamonds and gold, digged up by the locals in some mines can play a role (think about Salomon's mines for example ) And we shouldn't forget about the fact so many different animals can be found in the jungle ! (not only existing like monkeys, parrots, ... but also some new ones like panthers/lions, large cobra-like snakes, apes (not monkeys, but big human-like apes) and so many more (perhaps even a slightly evolved "apementribe"). Minifig factions: 1) The GOOD guys : - The explorers: they try to discover new/lost civilisations and tribes, and then help them. They have respect to ancient cultures and their sacred relics (and treasures) and help to protect the animals from the hunters. - Local tribe(s): protecting the animals and their treasures. (eg. one tribe has diamonds, another one protects the animals and another one mines gold or Legomium, this way TLG can choose between one larger set or many small to medium ones, or a large + more smaller ones...you get the point) 2) The BAD guys : - The "apementribe" (or they could be good too off course) - A second team of explorers (black or dark minifig team with cages, a lot of weapons, basically they are here for the treasures and relics, and to capture wild animals. Anyone who stands in their way will be removed by then in a non-friendly way, one set could represent the evil explorers and another one could be animal/apemenhunters). - POSSIBLY (if it would be an extended theme): some headhunters, or another evil tribe. 3) NEUTRALS : - A native tribe: not that developped, armed with spears and bows and arrows, only defending their grounds (or attacking randomly), they could belongc to the good guys as well. - The animals (that are taken care off by a good "apementribe"?, meaning a non-violent one!) Location: An "African styled" jungle. Packed with trees and animals, and inhabited by the most ferocious tribes and other unknown races...called "LEGROARIA" (Lego + roar(s) from the animals ) Just my thought about a new theme...
  4. A fine set indeed, although I never saw this one before. The studio sets were liked by many, I wonder why they didn't (or don't) release more... Seems this set was a great way to get rid of the overproduced Fabuland wolfs-heads BTW (I don't even know they were produced - probably not...) This is a good review, TheBrickster, but then you never made a bad one as far as I know.

I love it ! But maybe you could have let him have an imprisonned Walrus...if you get what I mean, Slyowl... The fishing hole is already there, and the fellow seems hungry all the time, so please give him more food (I mean add that Walrus! Preferrably one that likes to get whacked on the butt! BTW: It's a great MOC, Slyowl, from me.
  6. Right, it is a MOC, so you don't really need that many and BTW a division even has more then 12.000 troops according to NATO standards (on war strenght), 6000 men would be a brigade or also called a semi-division. Maybe in Denmark it is different though, I don't know. Army units: squads: smaller units, often lead by a sergeant or a first sergeant platoon: 20-30 men - (2nd)lieutenant company: 80-120 men (multiple platoons) - captain/commander/1st lieutenant, according to its status: elite unit? Infantry, cavalry, artillery, airunit,...?) battalion: 400-1000 men (multiple companies) - mostly a commander or a major, sometimes a lieutenant colonel (elite units or placed there by the Brigadier general) regiment: 3200-4000 men (multiple battalions + support units) - colonel brigade: 5000-8000 men (at least 1 regiment +staff + support troops, usualy 2 or even 3) - brigadier general (1 star general) division: 10000-18000 men (nearly always 2 brigades + staff + support troops) - division general (2 stars) corps: 20000-60000 men (at least 1 division + staff + support troops and reserves) - general-major (3 stars) army: undefined (at least 1 corps + staff + support troops and reserves) - general/general-colonel (varies by country) (4 stars) army group/army section: undefined - marshall or 5 star general
  7. My opinion: Unless someone enters with an even better MOC in the large division, the BSB is probably yours ! Possible improvements: I am in no position to give advise to such a great builder, but I will to do so anyway! 1) I really wouldn't use any kind of helmet for the soldiers, but you already know that and you stated you don't have enough hats for everyone...maybe hairpieces for one or two could do (like they came out of bed after an alarm)? Or take some tricornes awy from your pirates and give them helmets... I THINK it might look better, but I am not sure, it would look more historical though, and of that I am certain. 2) I would add some flags and a "ruler/the King you are referring too,as I did not spot him" to the castle/tower/city, make it look more like a "governors citadel". Especcialy because of the big cannon you placed there. That one could use at least one more minifigs BTW (normally they need 6-8 crewmen, but since it's Lego I would add only 2-3) DNL, big from me (yes, I used both hands ). This is, so far, a winner.
  8. Very nice, GIR 3691, I like your MOC. The pictures are nice too, but why don't you post any down here on the forum (deeplinking them I mean) from me.
  9. My advise: Add more details (flags, guns, a cannon?, a parrot,...) to the main wall, and yes I would make it thicker although that is a matter of opinion and it looks fine now as well. A little house, like an armory for the guards or a small guardshouse with cafetaria would look great. Making it even larger is not a necessity if you make this look good. Not everyone has as many bricks as DNL... I don't like the little flag you used, but the pirates and soldiers look good for now. Do you have a reason for having both Spanish and Redcoat soldiers?(shortage perhaps?) You get a from me at this point. I will make a full review when it is finished BTW.
  10. My opinion: This is an outstanding MOC ! I give you a 9/10 for this, and I think there isn't that much that can be improved, except for (maybe) changing your division from medium to large. I would at least consult an admin/mod for this, to check if it is eligible to enter the medium division (wich I doubt). Your minifigs are ok, their faces too, and the tower/bank is so realistic and "finished". I think you have a good chanche to win a prize with it. So: good work ! Possible improvements: 1) Maybe adding a few more details like placing a cannon on the towerroof, or hanging a flag (a Bluecoat or Redcoat flag I mean) would make it look even more real. 2) Let the guards on the roof have a part of the action, let them shoot or something, or cry for help, sound an alarm... They must have heard or seen something. The others did. 3) I think the (red and brown) tiles used for the first floor could be replaced with others (like grey) but I doubt this is a necessity. I would however like to see something more going on there, maybe you could place a hanger with a medieval armor there, or some candles, a bookcase,... 4) As suggested by Erdbeereis1, tiling the entire MOC would probably look a bit better. And more leeves for the tree are always welcome as well. 5) I would add a monkey, a parrot, another bird or a homemade animal to the MOC, those are always so cool ! Non-brick related advise: 1) try to post more photos here, six for example, this way we know which ones whe should judge. Remember: the first one is the one to be judged for points, and decides who will win! (I like your first pic BTW) 2) Are you certain about entering in Medium Class? I think it's too broad...But that is just MHO. THIS IS STATED in Da rules
  11. I fully agree with Erdbeereis1, This is the best entry so far ! I will comment more thoroughly tomorrow, I am going to bed now, I just wanted to express my admiration to your MOC NOW !
  12. I think it's good to delete the airplane since that was out of place, but I must say you progressed a lot with this new MOC, keep building and learning and you will get there in no time! Since I am well over bed time already, I will post my humble advise tomorrow. I wish you the best of luck and much fun while building !
  13. Really nice haunted house, Patje, greetings from a fellow member of the low countries (or Belgium, to be correctly)! Please keep this up, I like the pics very much.

New Brickania, or Great Brickany is a good one I think. But there are so many...
  15. I really don't understand why so many MEMBERS make that mistake, do they think all: "if we do it with enough of us, they won't dare to disqualifie us" or something?? (I would not bet on not getting disqualified BTW) OR are they just so neglective they don't even care about reading the rules? That same goes for using not-allowed custom pieces and illegal techniques... WAKE UP, boys, do it correctly from the first time and you won't get that much critic either (and it saves us who give the critis LOADS of work as well )
  16. Please check your PMs, I PMd you . I am selling one of my 3 on Bricklink now (the very cheapest complete one on Bricklink), it is complete and has superb sail quality, and it comes with some extra minifigs and items . I will make a review of the 6286 in the Academy first so you can see the pics of the one I am selling (I was planning that anyway), if you are no member of the Academy then please wait a few days till I graduated (only need 1 more review). Sorry for my self-advertising, Mr. Phes, the review was planned two weeks ago though and has nothing to do with it (since I have multiple), you can check that in my Academy posts...
  17. Your comic is awesome, Clonecommando007, I like the large armies of minifigs you used for creating this MOC, and the background is great too. The story is OK, but maybe you should try to improve the quality of your pictures next time. Overall opinion:
  18. My opinion: Very good for a "first ever"! I like the story you told and the wooden planks, your minifigs are great too. That bird you made is in one word: COOL. The use of faces: very good. Unfortunatly it isn't that cruel and however the fact it's funny, it (maybe) isn't as close to the PTV theme as some other MOCs, but then again: it is your first one and it probably is a WIP, so... from me, Zepher ! Possible improvements: 1) Add more cruelty to this if possible, I know it's cruel to the pirate to just take away (or back) his treasury, but I'm afraid that might not be enough for some members and judges... 2) Try to create another way to bind the planks to the ship, because like this it seems there is water between them and that is impossible since it is well above the waterline. 3) For your first pic, which will be used to judge your entry, I advise to make the minifigs look a little bit towards the lens (and us), this way we can see a little bit more, like their expressions... 4) I don't know if the gangway exceeds the limitations or not, I think some overlay is allowed but I don't know how many. Maybe you'd better ask a staff member, just to be certain you know... 5) Maybe you could open the chest and show a lot of gold pieces, this might add to the story. Non-brick related advise: 1) Did you use glue (for the parrot or other things), or custom pieces? Read the rules well and see you are following them, or they have the right to disqualifie you...and no one wants that, do they? This is one line that comes directly from the rules: Only unmodified, authentic LEGO brand parts are allowed. Da rules. 2) Correct some (very) minor spelling mistakes/typo's like: followed by many. Glad to have you around here and I hope more entries to the other divisions will follow ! PS: I just have to repeat the fact that your banana bird looks supergood!
  19. So did I, I must have looked at least 100x !!!(no exagerating here !) to Bonapartes thread about his Napolonic army, I am building one myself now but I probably will never get such a large force myself...unless I win a jackpot or something.
  20. ARRR...then lets get him back for that! I know how Claus von Nassau feels like now, Captain Green Hair once took my wife and sold her for 5 USD to an Arabian Sjah... I am certain I could have gotten twice that amount for her . We will combine our fleets near Cape Brickhope and see if there is anything left to rescue...and else we still can punish Captain Green Weed ! err...Green Hair that must be . BTW I think my nickname is cool...hehehe
  21. The Forestmen's Hideout is one of the best sets of its time (end of he 1980's), I used to have ALL the forestmen's sets but I haven't rebuilded them yet so I don't know I still do. Your review is OK, and I thank you for making it, because I really used to like them in that time, they were great with my Lions and Falcons...Oh, the times...
  22. OOops, it seems you posted that twice by accident, Tim Bit... General Magma, I bid you welcome to Eurobricks and I am quite certain you will feel right home here! This is a very warm community after all and there are plenty of Star Wars fans around here too.
  23. Yup, 100% accurate, but I think I didn't explain it as I should have... What I meant was: (made simple) = Spanish: El Zorro = Dutch: De Vos (my name is Dieter De Vos) = English: The Fox What did that croocked slave-trader do this time?
  24. Nice ! Now I can have Vestas minifigs again ! 10 years ago I was stupid enough to sell my only 2 (or 3, I don't remember) Vestas minifigs together with other civilians and minifigs...for 50cents a piece I was uch an ... I hope to see your stand at LEGOWorld ! (If I can come, and else I just have to buy them in the shop)
  25. Actually, most people that are immured DIE because they are too bored . Or because they sufficate, or dry out, or.... Well I know it doesn't show thatv much action, but 8x8 is just sooo small... And it is not a joking/funny contest, if it was that I would know what to create... That would be a lot easier.
