  1. Happy birthday to you all, and my wish to you: a very large amount of Lego and money !
  2. I voted: SHARK, but monkeys are too much ahead already I'm afraid... TO THE STAFF: Do I get permission to create another 30 accounts? That way I can tipp the balance to sharks... ...and vote for my mocs to win those prizes off course...
  3. In most train sets, you should build these yourself. This is a 12V example http://www.peeron.com/scans/7740-1/4
  4. They look very good indeed, Commander Kraine seems to be my favorite after a quick peak.
  5. What does this have to do with Lego??
  6. The guillotine was invented by "le Docteur Guillotine" in 1792 (French Revolution was still raging in 1792) actually he made this disovery at least a year before but because off the many executions during the French Revolution (mainly done by hanging and chopping heads of with an axe) he sold this to the government as a more humane method of executing deathsentences. After all, chopping heads of with an axe was a brutal and slow proces. It sometimes took up to 10 minutes before this was done, since some executioners and/or judges made it a sport of using blented axes...
  7. Benny and Trickrichey, both your MOCs (the ones you guys added to this thread) are . I hope the both of you will "produce" many more! BTW: Welcome to the forum, trickrichey! I hope you will have a great time here.
  8. Thanks ! as you can see by my reply on one of your threads I knew you had them (and shako molds), but I didn't know you had multiple (hat/helmet molds)...they all look so great BTW. And so do the decals
  9. There are parts that look like a motor, but they don't have one. They weigh a lot less too. I think you might be confusing with these...
  10. Very good, onfortunatly I'm not using decals...I want to be able to use my men later (in my sets)too. Do you have a link to your thread(s)? I presume you have one... Which furface and molded parts are you referring to? do you mean standard Lego surfaces in general?
  11. I voted "above average", a 4 thus. I would/might buy it if it had a lower price yes, but then again that goes up for so many other different sets... The bed and the front of the building look very nice.
  12. My opinion + possible improvements: Since almost everything has been said, I can only point out the fact that I think you really should take some better pictures. One other thing is that you used a LOT of yellow in this MOC. A grey or brown floor might look better. I also think daggers are better in place then 2 swords. The theme of this MOC is , the cruelty factor is and the overall quality is .
  13. My opinion: At this point, I think it is an average to good MOC. There are most definatly some improvements to be made, but you have a very good base to start with. Possible improvements: 1) Some of the red bricks you used to represent blood don't look that good, I am pointing especcialy to the 2 pieces on the right of the dead (stabbed) guy. 2) I'd let the brown-tricorne pirate hold that cutlass in his hand, and I would give the pierced guy some hair or a hat. The bloodworks on this minifig are cool BTW. 3) I also agree on some of the points made by my fellow members, like the fact the tiles look a bit weird as they are now, and the bomb is ok, it's just the long transparant that looks a bit out of his place. That piece has been used in more MOCs for this contest, but I just don't seem to like it. JMHO though. 4) Maybe you could add rats/a crow/a dog that drinks blood or eats one of the dead guys. That would be a nice addition I think. 5) Do you think you could find a way to let the lady stumble? Non-brick related advise: IF you want to, you could make your next pics a bit larger (800x600 is allowed for this contest). The best of luck and have fun while building!
  14. My opinion: This is a very finished and good MOC. I like the fact that the soldier is stuck with his head into the cannon, that must be cruel...the pirates firing the cannon would die as well because the cannon would probably explode, but it is so cool I don't even want to comment on that fact . Minor improvements: 1) A little story would fin in nice here . And so would a rat in the cage underneath the cannon. 2) Another pic (or two) perhaps? from a different angle, let's say from the front, to see more of the soldiers suffering :pir-skull: ? But do keep this one as your first one, I think it would be hard to improve it... 3) THERE IS NO THREE (yet) This is such a good MOC, and I can't comment on anything that looks so good already... PS: although I am not a staff member, I can say you for sure that this amount of overlay is allowed. (How do I know? I asked a staff member how far we could go with this some time ago .) Please keep building entries/MOCs like this .
  15. Dislikes walrusses, likes (very much )slyowls... It seems the good ol' captain Zuloo has a strong preference about who he likes and who he doesn't like concerning our staff.
  16. Happy birthday to you all! I wish you loads of Lego, money and eternal love and happyness.
  17. Congrats, guys! And while being here, I wish to thank you guys for the help and the tips you gave me with my reviews in the Academy. Thanks! And keep up the good work !
  18. OOPS, sorry, but if you open the thread and typ an answer you can read: Hello! My name is......Booga Looga Looga Looz Anyways, have fun here.
  19. Welcome to the forum, Booga Looga Looga Looz! I hope you have a great time here.
  20. The tree looks nice, but it seems the cannonball comes out of the ground or something. Most cannon don't shoot that "oblique" (sorry, don't know another word for it).
  21. Mountain cabin or something, I think...
  22. Those are some very good decals Clonecommando007! Too bad I don't collect Lego SW for now, since I am saving my money for the new (Pirate)line. Thanks for the link BTW.
  23. Choose man, choose...! Make decisions, thinking and comparing is such a waste of time! You Dutchies are something allright...
  24. a) Did you use the automated focussing function of your camera? If not, give it a try (read the manual about how to) If yes, try to do it manually. I think you might not have used it, because else at least some would be good. Unless the lens or camera is broken. Also check the camera stance: you often have many like "moving people, nature scenes, automatic,..." b) Maybe you should post your camera specs. here, so we know what the problem could be by proces of elimination. c) Always take some distance, the larger the Lego set is, the more distance you should take. Rather use the zoom function to get a larger image! (warning: do NOT use digital zooming, only lens zooming!) lens zooming: You zoom in by using the lenses of your camera, the pixels remain the same: no quality gets lost. digital zooming: You zoom in by enlarging the pixels digitally with the software of your camera: quality gets lost!!! I suggest you leave 40-50cm of space between you and a 32x32 building set.
  25. THAT LAST BLACKSMITH SHOP IS TRASH 's entry to the game? Well, I must admit that I like it, it is so very detailed and the Dwarves look nice, the 2nd floor looks incredibly good and finished, you get an enormous from me! Man, do we really have to choose? I would feel so guilty because they are all three very good MOCs... Well...nothing to do about it... My favorite is the Trash...-build Blacksmith...FOR NOW that is, he is leading with a 9/10 while coconuteis1 and woodenandi both get an 8,5 from me...now I await the finishing touches, if any would still be made that is!
