  1. Great use of the Chima croc head on the Cyclops! And the Orc is fantastic too! Might have to try that one.
  2. Aha! I thought I'd seen them somewhere! Cheers Mike!
  3. Nice build! Cool figs- do the red hoods come in a set or are they just on Bricklink?
  4. Some of the figs were quite nice though, at least some of their parts were. I doubt new sets will be any better. Not looking at the way they've approached pirates. I reckon castle going forward will be two human factions. CMF series may cover some of the more fantastical elements. I'll be heading to Bricklink for Castle goodness.
  5. That bird that's caught the fish is great! The waterfall is nice, but doesn't seem steep enough to me.
  6. This is great! Made me laugh! Shadowmere certainly seems to be the only safe haven at the moment in Nocty. Vlad has yet to make alliances with anyone from Mitgardia though! (I really need to get some people's Mitgardian sig-figs). You might see some Mitgardians around in Shadowmere though! As an aside, isn't Euosmos Mitgardian?
  7. Welcome to the Guilds! I'd recommend checking Bricklink as well. Look at the pieces you already have and see what you can make from that, if you have 1000's of pieces there's should be plenty of usable bricks in there!
  8. Thanks guys! It's interesting that the Jarl is getting so much praise- he felt like one of the least inspired and nearly got cut! @Mike that sounds awesome!
  9. @kabel, Vitreolum Without meaning offence with the following comments, just some (hopefully) impartial observations. I do agree with Vitreolum. He has participated- I've enjoyed his builds, and the descriptions. Some of the ways he's depicted his stories have been unusual and eye-catching. A lot of the members here don't contribute to the "global" storyline, but work on their own small areas. I'm enjoying following Aymer and Cora's adventures, from the Spanking Troll Tavern, to camp making and beyond! That being said, this MOC might benefit from a small description- I take it that's Cora dressed as a jester? With Aymer on the balcony? You don't necessarily need to assume your stories are "lame"- and even if they're not the greatest or longest, that doesn't matter. Story writing can easily improve with practice, and length does not equal quality. A well written pair of sentences can convey an awful lot. I hope that all makes sense, and is taken as positive, and not negative!
  10. Thanks guys! Glad you like them! I tried to inject humour as my serious descriptions seemed a bit boring, and also to include things from all over the Historica background. There are other characters that got dropped, but I still really like, so if I manage to make some more figs, there might be a second one. I'll have to include some Varylioans in that one, I have a few built.
  11. Nice! Some very clever parts usage here!
  12. Overview: Nocturnus: King of the Undead- A mighty Lord, he presides over the living dead. All he really wants is a nice cup of bloodwine and an enchanted pumpkin pie. Black Spire Orc Captain- A fearsome opponent, he has orchestrated many raids on Shadowmere. Gorilla Tracker- Formerly of the Island of Gorr in Kaliphlin, he travelled to Nocturnus to join the Moruth Rangers, but can now be found harassing Black Spire raiding parties. Fishwhiskers- A distuingished Nocturnian noble with a penchant for raw fish, the smell of which often gets him prematurely ejected from the highbrow parties he like to attend. Mitgardia: Jarl Snowy- Cold as the snow itself, he has fought many horrors, and now leads a band of men and dwarves. Mountain Barbarian- Likes to shout and throw axes around, but actually enjoys making snow angels- the snow on his bare skin cools his fiery temper. Bearded Lady- Ladies in Mitgardia can grow impressive beards. That sword, although dangerous looking, is for trimming the wiry hairs of her beard. Dwarf Solider- Loyal to the Jarl, except when he spots gold. Ooooooo shiny... Kaliphlin: Island Warrioress- Don't be fooled noble knights, this beautiful maiden would sooner take your head, than take you to bed. Perpetually Angry Merchant- His scams always backfire, but he has his key to his lock-up, and a sackful of cheap knock-off fake githril ornaments to peddle. Perhaps he'll smile if this one works. Leander Centurion- The Leander are mighty, noble warriors, and the Centurion epitomises this- few wish to face him on the battlefield, where his claws and teeth are as much weapons as his gladius. Carn Nightwatchman- Although he's scared of the dark, he's got a big lantern, and practices scowling to cover up his fear. Avalonia: "Where's my tights?" Knight- Everyone knows that Avalonians can't go to battle without their tights, but the Knight seems to keep losing his when he goes daffodil picking. Elven Ranger- A deadly shot, the daughter of the Elven King prefers to hang out with the lads and shoot Drow. Tree-trimmer- The trees of Vanhorn would quickly take over if it wasn't for this plucky soul and his axe. Once he's done chopping he loads the branches into a cart with his fork. Elven King- The greatest and eldest of the elves, there is little that he has not seen. A masterful Mage, it is rumoured he helped teach the first Druids. Well there we are- I found this quite hard to do this late on in the contest- there's been some superb entries. But here's my offering. I think a few might find themselves in my future builds. I do apologise in advance for the graininess of the photos- winter sucks as I don't have a decent lighting setup. C+C welcome!
  13. Nice! I like the interior scene, and it's nice to see the Shadowmere Guard getting around!
  14. Beautiful curves! I for one am quite enjoying your stories!
  15. Poor Kaliphlinites! Shouldn't trespass where they're not wanted! Great build, love the figs!
  16. As I said on Flickr, beautiful Mass! I love the trees, might have to use that technique. I hope you don't get too taken with Kaliphlin though!
  17. Aha! I see! Clever dwarves.
  18. Damn. Another pair of beautiful builds! Only question- how does the waterfall work, as it sort of appears from nowhere in the wall?
  19. I'm going to build a bit of Abyssian for an upcoming story, but it's more based in the outer part- think swampy sunken ruins (ruined due to the Siege of Abyssian, whilst skirmishes go on between Nocty loyalists and Black Spire traitors.
  20. Seraph is great, and I love the idea of the lycanthropist haha! That pastry is great too!
  21. Lovely dragon, and great story!
  22. Nice! I like the door, and the snow is great!
  23. That looks great with the stickers!
