"A particular day in the depths of winter holds a particular significance for Vladivus. This is a day in which he travels to the Rakath Mountains, unguarded, alone, and allows himself to become lost. It is then that he will be found, and taken to that spot which he holds dearest in all Historica. For on this day, it is the anniversary of his entry to Nocturnus, and the anniversary of the death of his mother. Vladivus was merely a baby when he arrived in Nocturnus, and was unable to protect his mother from the Caniban, but salvation came for the young half-Vampire. Corocus, a disgraced member of the Kazzar Tribe found the Caniban attacking Vladivus' mother, and beat off her attackers. Vladivus mother died of her wounds, but Vladivus himself was hale, and was raised by Corocus. Vladivus visits Corocus yearly, on this date, and ensures the old reptile is well. Vladvius: "Hail and well met Godfather!" Corocus: "Aye, welcome young Vladivussss." Vladivus: "Do I find you in good health? Is my mother's grave undisturbed?" Corocus: "Yesss, lad, I am well. There are a few bandits roaming these hills. It is troubling, they bear the colours of the Black Spire, and I have seen Avalonians amongst them." Vladivus paused, deep in thought, as his mind wandered back to his hazy memories of his arrival in Nocturnus..." Thanks for looking, this is the first part of a trio of freebuilds relating to Vladivus' entry into Nocturnus. I'm quite pleased with the tree technique. C+C welcome!

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Lord Vladivus replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've been waiting to get some royal guards, so I'll get the ds battle pack. I might pick up the battle of Salumecai for the plant pieces, but other than that, pass. -
Distance would help too. Can't do anything at the moment.

Great build! Love all the details.

In most castles, they're a few centimetres wider than the width of a bow (not tip to tip length, side to side when held vertically). Pretty hard to fit through, you'd have to be unarmoured, and pretty thin, not ideal for a soldier attacking a castle. Especially if there's an archer in there to dissuade you. Hell, a mere spearman or swordsman could defend that gap for hours.

AoM Farming Eagles Phase II: Transportation
Lord Vladivus replied to Infernum's topic in Guilds of Historica
Love it! Definitely gives the impression of a guarded tunnel. The figs are cool too. Only slight niggle is you cut the top of the rock work when you photographed it. I do hope we see more of these Redstone dwarves! -
Ugh. Poor guy, covered in sewage. Nice MOC!

Kaliphlin vs. Mitgardia (Microfigure Tournament)
Lord Vladivus replied to Kai NRG's topic in Guilds of Historica
Awesome! Love the horses! -
I agree. I suppose we'll see when the set is actually revealed officially. It looks like an ok parts pack, but it seems a bit thrown together. Even though the others are in a similar thrown together state, they seem more coherent. This looks like someone took the kings castle and built an alternate model. I suppose that's kinda the idea though. I look forward to seeing the tower mode.

Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Lord Vladivus replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
It would certainly depend. Some of us are more, 'human' in our outlooks. But there are some of us who have no compunctions about eating people. I would hazard a guess that those allied to Nocturnus would be more inclined to treat allies nicely, whilst the Black Spire seems to be more evil, and more likely to eat allies. Note that's really just my own opinion, it's down to each member how they view their characters and allies. -
Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Lord Vladivus replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
The way I understand this, each discipline is analogous to a degree? And each subject is a module you would complete and once you've completed/passed enough modules you would be awarded the degree in the discipline. Seeing as how you cover most subjects that would be studied at UoP anyway, in the MOCs students will produce, I'd lean towards having the University of Petrea in the title- separate it a bit from the awarded title, as that's an academic qualification. Maybe "University of Petrea Masters Degree Course". That might be a bit long. Although grandiose titles go quite well with academia. I'd lean away from building, if you're looking for an in-universe name, as although everything will be built, not all the subjects relate to technique- there's content there as well. Anyway, just a couple of mostly incomprehensible ramblings (with interspersed long words). -
Nice MOC, I like the birds. A darker tone too, fitting for the journey to Nocty!
-
Nice! I don't know what the rules for AoM are exactly, but I'd have made the wall a bit thicker- one stud thick never seems enough! I like that you've used different textures though! Keep it up!
