Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Lord Vladivus replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
I agree, although half of them came here, and we're pretty quiet. Although I think someone mentioned that a lot of talk went on in the challenge thread. It'll be interesting to see if it picks up! I think the ease of talking has something to do with what is posted- links to MOCs and specific questions about another guild are something that I tend not to reply to (although I have in the past), whereas general conversation and general questions about GoH are easier to reply to. Haha! I love how much we're analysing this! -
Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion

I find Mitgardia and Kaliphlin the most accessible to post in. I find it harder to post in Avalonia for whatever reason. I'm trying to comment on every MOC, especially those of newcomers- trying to make them feel welcomed, and so they stick around. I don't know if it works, or even plays a part in decisions, but I do it anyway! Plus there's some awesome MOCs around! -
I like the colours in the rock work! Great MOC!

The apprentice stands to inherit that of the Master. I need no invitation. Mitgardia will fall. I will admit I need a shower first though.

Looking forward to more builds. Intrigued by the minifigs too! I expect the Master of Geography to be nothing less than perfect!

Pretty cool. I liked the Kaliphlin postcard thing, it would be cool to do this for every guild.

Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Lord Vladivus replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Too much internet time on my hands I think! I enjoy the community here, and I like to talk. I didn't realise I posted quite that much though in the guild threads. That's impressive. I'm aware I try to comment on every MOC now, so that boosts my total post number, especially when we have challenges like the last one! -

I've got some ideas for freebuilds, but I've got to find time. I'm about to move for a new(ish) job in a couple of weeks, so I haven't much time for building right now. Hopefully I'll get something up. -
AoM: Stable, Phase I: Olin's Sad Trek Through The Snow
Lord Vladivus replied to DrColossus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice story. I like that there's smooth snow behind where the anvil is dragging! -
Love this! The forced perspective is great! I love how open and airy the room appears!

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Lord Vladivus replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
I need to update my post in the registration thread with some of the builds I did before the thread got put up. That should make me the top builder in Nocty! ;) I'd be interested to see if the numbers of challenge builds affected the outcome- after all they don't count towards freebuilds. -
Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Captain Settle is now a member of Nocty. Other than that, that's some pretty interesting statistics. It just goes to show how a well run Free Build challenge (I'm looking at you Mitgardia!) can affect the number of builds produced! -

The story made me laugh! Great MOC too! -
Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion

We're always quiet over here. Not the most talkative of guilds. I think the war is still going on, that was only the opening gambit, I'm guessing the final challenge will resolve it. -
Most people I know are either understanding, or just don't care. I've had many discussions about Lego with the most unlikely of people. Given my other interests, licensed theme Lego garners more of a conversation as I can springboard into the IPs. The thing I probably hear the most is "that's cool. Fancy a beer?"

My favourite is IV, it's the first one I watched, and I always have find memories of it. As for my least favourite, probably II, mostly for Anakin. I quite like the Phantom Menace. I think we all look back far too fondly on the originals though- they were innovative in their time, and pretty different, but they're not that much different to the prequels. I look at it similar to how UK people view Doctor Who- the Doctor you grew up with is often your favourite, regardless of how good he was.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Lord Vladivus replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
To be fair, the stormtroopers in Rebels have pretty stretched looking helmets. It's a pretty good representation of them. I do agree about the eyes- I'm a big fan of the standard black with white pupils look. All these darn colours. In my day, it was just a yellow head with a smiley face. ;) -

The faces look much better than TCW ones- still stylised though. Is that a new mold for the stormtrooper helmet or is it just clever printing? -

I love the helmet and should armour combo- I've been thinking of using it myself! Well, the scratched camera lens certainly adds to the atmosphere! -
Great MOC- I love that house! Brilliant story as well, I love that you've made midgets the myth in Historica, mirroring the myth of dwarves in our own world!

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Lord Vladivus replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
That's quite alright- it's amazing how people from all sorts of different backgrounds can be brought together by something as simple as Lego! Haha, I'm planning on getting some tan bricks ready for the Kaliphlin civil war, but I'm going to stick with Nocty I think- that's where my evil, undead heart lies. This is true, I hadn't thought of it like that! -

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Lord Vladivus replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
It's a fluid thing. There's a lot of Book 1 builders that have gone now, and there's a lot of late Book 1 members that are the stalwarts keeping it going. I'm really only interested in MOCing castle, so I'm sticking around as much as I can, but I understand people's tastes change- some of the Historica guys are producing great MOCs in other parts of the forum. Maybe Book 3 will see them back. Nocty suffers, even the members we've added are vanishing after posting sig figs, and our most active members are ex -other guilds (minus me possibly, Nocty born and bred!), plus some other Book 1 members (Dr Rod). You guys are definitely the most family-like guild, I could swear you're all brothers and sisters the way y'all bat off of one another. The other guilds are nowhere near that level of familiarity- I guess it's because you kept your core membership from Book 1, and didn't lose people to other guilds. I must admit, if I had more tan bricks I'd quite like a spell in the desert. But I don't know if I can relinquish all the cool monsters and weird stuff in Nocty. I hope you can forgive an old Vampire his incoherent ramblings, he's bereft at losing his zombies to your casinos...
