Nice build. The weapons work really nice on the wings. I actually like it better with the wings folded in.

Message-Intercept Base: To Buy or not to Buy
SpaceMan Nathan replied to DuckBricks's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
$130 is a good price (brickpicker has that as the average value right now), but $80 is way too much for shipping. -
I am so close...it will come down to photographing by deadline.

As disturbing as it is, I love the other space minifig torsos in there.
-
Great job. The main section is the best.

Okay, the last of the original space themes. "Racer" "Attack Saucer" "Challenger" (a mod of a build from "Spacerunner" [Togana on Brickshelf]) This MOC has a lot of fun play features I will have to photograph "Shuttle" (a mod of a build from "Spacerunner" [Togana on Brickshelf]) "Interstellar Saucer"

The ever-so-small theme of Unitron needed expansion. I admit, this was the hardest them to really stay true to a design style because there were only four sets. But I did my best. "Delta Wing" (the theme didn't have a small set/flyer at all like every other space theme) "Speeder bike" "Glyder" (mod from the cockpit of the monorail in 6991, still fits in set) "Air Speeder" "Attacker" "Avenger" "Jump-jet" "Orbital Guardian"

Saturday...I will build it all on Saturday.

Ice Planet was always a great theme. I mean, it brought us the world of trans-neon orange! "Utility" "icewing" (cockpit from 6973 with a detachable wing unit) "Ice Defense" "APC" (expanded version of 6898) "Winged Defender" (smaller version of 6973, same cockpit and same rocket w/launcher)

Great wing/engine combo on the design. And I believe I am going to steal the landing gear style.

Anyone else a little scared now? Because I am....I don't think I will go to sleep for a while. Nice build, very nice build.

Again with Space Police II, I tried to keep the number of builds (both sets and MOCs) even with Space Police I. "Cruiser" "Heavy Interceptor" "Monorail" (same one as shown in Space Police I thread, just showing the SP2 side) "Space Police II Lock-Up Isolation Base"

Sometimes it takes effort to "restrict" building. I usually build like this best after I have been building some of the original space sets from LEGO. When I get my original space MOCs up you will see more "current" build styles. And I also try to stick to the same cheesy type of names that LEGO went with.

If M:tron is my favorite theme, then they must have a sufficient enemy. My expansion of Blacktron II was done to keep in step with the sets and MOCs of M:tron. There are more pictures at my Flickr showing play features and such. "Starwing" (wingman to 6832) "Striker" "Transport" (this is a mod of the ship from set 6988; I wanted a VTOL for troop transport similar to my M:tron "Space Huey") "Interceptor" (tried to base this one off of 6981) "Armored Rover" (let's face it, the M:tron Mega Cor Magnetizer 6989 was an awesome set, and Blacktron II had nothing like it; I tried to keep the style of 6933)
-
Here is the other half of my M:tron MOC collection. "Space Huey" (6923 mod) "Galaxy" (build off the frame and windshield of 6989) "M:tron Command" "Monorail" (got this started from the great work of Peter Reid [Legoloverman])

Thanks...I was just looking at that Brinklink store the other day. I really don't have a huge extra part supply to build them to sell, that is actually why I always build digitally first. But if you want to build...all the files are on my Brickshelf Thanks Citizen, being part of the original theme is what I aim for. As for magnets, don't you worry. Three of these MOCs have magnets, and they only get more as the MOCs get bigger.
-
So M:tron is my favorite theme, probably because it was my first LEGO space theme. So I need to split this into two posts. "Utility" "Speeder" "Seederbike" (mod from 6811 alternate back of box design) "Security Flyer" "Crosswing" (6877's wingman) "Glyder" "Roadster"

A combination monorail just made sense to me seeing as a monorail motor is one of the more expensive parts on bricklink. Also, I am in the process of planning out a large scale display for all the "good guys" of the 80's and 90's. And a combo monorail works for that. And, by all means, build a combo if you want to build a combo. Getting two cells on each side was a trick. And keeping it narrow to fit through the 6990 and 6991 sets was key. So vertical on the SP2 cells and that meant that one of the SP cells had to go on the batter case. I will get my SP2 station up soon, it really is just a SP2 version of set 6955.

Good job on the redesign.
-
Continuing forward in time...when you have bad guys, you need police to take care of them. This is one of my personal favorites. A two pilot fighter, but still can carry the cell.

All right, I posted Futuron, so now Blacktron I. Obviously the Futuron theme had a lot more sets, so that means I didn't feel the need for as many Futuron MOCs. But Blacktron never had enough sets...so more MOCs. And sorry, I haven't gotten around to photographing any of the Blacktron MOCs yet, so just renders. "Defender" "Cargo Pod" (based off set 6894) Alternate build 1 for set 6876 (back of box) Alternate build 2 for set 6876 (back of box) "Batwing" (cockpit from set 6941 with new wing section) "Hyper-Cruiser" Base extensions on set 6987

Missed your other question. I use MLCad to build digitally. I tried LDD but could never stand it. After I am done in MLCad I use LDraw to POV-Ray to render.
-
The inside is pretty simplistic. It is a Unitron half and a Futuron half. I haven't gotten around to photographing this one yet, but here are two other renders. There is higher resolution/size on Flickr

Good evening all. I thought I would finally get around to posting my sci-fi/space MOCs. So far I have just been over in the the digital forum for LDraw. Every MOC I make is done in LDraw. So renders for everything, and what I have built in real bricks or actually taken time to photograph I have pictures for. Everything is over on my Flickr role, and files in LDraw are over on Brickshelf. The biggest thing for me when I am making an official themed MOC is that I stay as close to original design as possible. This means that I limited myself to the parts that were available at the time and try to keep my build techniques like those used in the original sets. I hope I do them justice. So, Futuron to start it off... "Winged Attacker" This MOC is "Midway Station," meant to bridge the Futuron and Unnitron monorails.
