Review : 8014 Clone Walker Battle Pack!
Commander_Rob replied to ReZourceman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Good review and a GREAT set, I just want to have this thing now. They could (as others have mentioned) included a fourth gun though, maybe even a rifle. -
I thought about choosing one of the various Clonetroopers at first, they really look great. In the end I went for the Rebel trooper though, these are some of the first SW characters to appear on screen and FINALLY there are official figs of them.

This is, in my opinion, a pretty good set. You get a speederbike, a Scout, a Stormie` and two Ewoks to shoot at. At the moment it seems pretty hard to get any more Scouttroopers without buying some old sets over eBay.

Imperial Shuttle Pilot (skin colored)
Commander_Rob replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This guy looks really cool, I`ve always wanted one of those shuttle pilots. The problem is that apart from the old shuttle (which I don`t want to buy, I`ve got the newer one already) this torso only comes in a skateborder-promo-thingy.... -
As the "Events" forum is more for announcing coming events I decided to make a topic here for talking about the Fanwelt in Cologne as it ends today and I want to post a few pictures here. HUGE aircraft carrier Space display including... ...a dome with "the last tree" Castle and attackers, might be Lord of the Rings inspired, I don`t know Much better than TLG`s "Imperial Inspection"-set There were many more town and train related things, that is just a bit I also bought some spare parts and some guy was selling a few Little Armory Star Wars weapons, of which I got some. In all it was a great day there.

I really like all of these sets: Ahsoka's Fighter and Vulture Droid: Looks OK to me, a new Astromech is always good. Will get one. Clone Walker Battle Pack: :cry_happy: 4, in words FOUR clones in one set, with an equipment pack, a completely new clone and a walker that looks cool despite of its small size. Will get at least 2 or 3. Assasin Droid Battle Pack: Yeah well, I am not sure what role these droids (will) play in the series but they sure look good in black and with the three silver ones and my IG-88 from the Slave I I can have IG-88 A, B, C, and D.... Will get one at least. Hyena Droid Bomber: Interesting design and sure these battledroids look cool. Will get one. Vader's TIE: I am unsure wether we need ANOTHER rendition of this fighter but it sure looks better than the other versions. Don´t think I will get it though. AAT: YEEESSSS! Finally they`ve redone this one. I would have preferred a tan one but with eBay prices for the old one going over 50$ I will go with this one. The cartoony Yoda is not too bad although he could get a Jawa cape Republic Attack Shuttle: Hhmmhm. The vehicle itself is cool. The LEGO version is pretty good. And the minifigs are quite good. A lot of people dislike it but I think the picture on the box makes it look kind of bad. The Mace Windu is not too bad, better than the LUL-version atlest. I don`t count the other one from the re-issued CTT, that was an unfair move.

The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy
Commander_Rob replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
I am a bit late with that but THANKS!! for giving me access. I always forgot to look in this thread.... -
WANT, WANT, WANT .. Oh sorry, I do that quite often since I first saw the pics, they just look great, especially the Clone Walker and the Attack Shuttle. Yep, I like the design of it and the yellow is fine for me, if it annoys you, you could still remove it or so... My only problem is to save enough money for all of those.....

The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy
Commander_Rob replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
I`d like to join. I`ve always wanted to learn something about how to properly review a set. -
Ok, here are my ideas, mostly from The Clone Wars (the movie and the series) -Republic Y-Wing with Anakin, Ahsoka and two Clone Pilots -Skytop station with Anakin, Ahsoka, the clones that are there, Grievous, some Battledroids, R2-D2, and Goldie, the other Astromech -The Malevolence, Grievous gigantic flagship which has a huge ion cannon and is (SPOILER!!!) destroyed by the Y-Wings. Comes with Grievous, two droid pilots and some Battledroids

I haven`t made any of this kind I thought about it too, "great minds think alike", you know.. Thinking about it, a Mini LAAT/i would be cool.
-
Cool stuff, I`ve already seen it on Brickshelf and I think the guy calls the Darth Maul mod "Darth Mall" with the subtitle "Where sheik Sith shop"...
-
I didn`t break any of them just like that, however the leg-connecting-clips of one broke when someone (not me!) stepped on it. That was fixed with very thin wire wrapped around the connection. Apart from that none of my new SBDs have broken, the old ones however have broken arms and legs.

Good one! Although the scene is,...well... you know, thats a good vig. And does anyone else feel like making some vigs with a theme like "STAR WARS scenes that should have been different" ? Too bad I don`t have a Jar Jar...., no one to kill....
-
The movie was quite good but it could have provided some more information, for example why the *+~# Magnaguards use Utapauan fighters long before the CIS invaded Utapau. For th sets I think they are OK, one of the better loads of Star Wars sets but the could have had some more Clonetroopers (luckily the battlepacks will come) and I just HATE the fact that my local TRU did not have the TX-130 tank when I tried to buy it today!

At this exact moment I listen to a live version of Guns N`Roses "Nighttrain" , next up is their song "Welcome to the jungle" and after that "Aqualung" by Jethro Tull in a special version with the "Frankfurt Neue Philharmonie".

So this is my sigfig (and my avatar too), the background: non-cloned-clone-army-commander in the Star Wars universe, dimension-travelling to show up in town, pirates, castle, Indy and anything else. Read more about that in the "What`s in a name?"-thread, I am on page 19. And here is the pic, in Jedi-like outfit with blasterrifle:

Just one word (and loads of exclamation marks): CUTE!!!!!!!!! Cats are my favourite animals and so my sig fig has a pet cat that looks like a cuddly cat I had as a kid (and STILL have today). See here:

Actually I didn`t buy any LEGO today or the last few days but on my birthday (8th of September) Igot the new 7675 AT-TE walker and I just LOVE it, it is a really cool set IMO!
-
I have encountered similar problems and I don`t think it is really possible to remove for example a Stormtroopers head from the helmet. Buying them on Bricklink can be a lot more expensive, for example with the new CW Commander Cody who only comes with very expensive RGS. But for general information on keyring removal, there is that tutorial by Slyowl on brickshelf: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=283567

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Commander_Rob replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I am really unsure about this, the colours may be realistic for mining vehicles (as Sinner has said) but the combination of lime-green and TRANS-ORANGE ??!??!? Weird. And the problem I see with these parts, as with the minifigs is, if they have taken the effort of making these parts in these colours they will use them. And that is not good. -
That`s cool, I especially like the Jedi decoy and the medical wing. But that pool just needs some Lego Star Wars II Beachtroopers! Like these: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Beachtrooper
-
What about a series of "Order 66" sets/dioramas? Each one with the Jedi that is to be killed, the Clonetroopers that kill him/her and some scenery.

How do you keep your Star Wars collection?
Commander_Rob replied to darkrebellion's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well, I keep my minifigs in small cardboard boxes, sorted by fraction, incomplete minifigs are specially stored untill their pieces are needed and the vehicles are just... well anywhere. I got three LARGE IKEA shelves in my room and additionally some other, smaller shelves which are all more or less filled with Star Wars sets in various states of (dis)repair. -
Any one ever thought of doing this? Milleniun MOD'ing
Commander_Rob replied to lfadn's topic in LEGO Star Wars
May I tell you that someone has indeed done something like what you are talking about and posted it on Brickshelf: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=339645
