  1. First off: JackJonesPaw and Goliath, I am a male tree. Dude. Guy. Please stop calling me "she". I told two people. I was under the impression that you had claimed to other trees as well, but I see that I was wrong. And don't write trees off as Oaks when there are no counterclaims- remember Simon in Ragnarok 2, or Adelaide in Party Lines ?? Because codes are helpful to town and some trees might not have believed my claim. Also to remind the stumps. I can verify that this is the truth. But why would you out Vicky's role in-thread ?? I never said I trusted him fully without question. I said that he is a strong townread of mine, in response to you saying that you suspected him. I wanted some people to know that I suspected Vicky in case I died on Night 1. I ended up telling Barry that I suspected Vicky (but not Vicky's claim) and telling Simon that someone I suspected had claimed vanilla to me. Simon found out that it was Vicky, so I felt like it was only fair to let Barry in on the information as well. Vicky, I'm sorry if that got you killed. Hazel, you're fishing for the vigilante AGAIN. It's completely illogical for a Maple to kill someone because of "suspicions" they had in thread. Maples don't have suspicions- they make them up! Therefore you must be referring to the vigilante again. So, as I understand it, there is now a functioning town block consisting of at least three people (Simon, Bruce and the investigator) and possibly the bomb as well. Pleased to hear that a block has formed.
  2. That's very surprising... my three top suspects all dead and Oaks. My scum-dar must be very off.... Reading. A lot of us voted for Catarina because we found here generally scummy, actually. Agnes, I am a 323. Catarina, I am a 6161. Vicky, I am a 34. Oh, my bad - *her, not here I have a hunch as to why Vicky was targeted. She was pinging many people by suspiciously claiming her role behind scenes...
  3. Look. We don't know what's going to happen, Catarina. If you are a) a Maple, b) all lynches are like Alastair's, or c) are janitored, then you won't become a stump, and the codes won't help town. But if you are an Oak and you do become a stump, then you can help town. Don't you see? There is a possibility this could work; if you are truly an Oak then help town by sending codes and you might do something substantially good. Either way, whatever happens with the lynch, someone will probably die tonight and become a stump, so if they have coded then it'll be OK.
  4. Isn't Sammy also voting for Catarina? I'm not sure what you mean by this. Don't. What should happen is: say I was to die and turn up a stump. Everyone who sent me a code list or received a code list from me posts on the next Day thread with their role as a number (for example, Billy sends me a code list with Blocker = 3.14 on it. When I am a stump, Billy posts "3.14" on the Day thread, letting me know that he is the blocker). I can then compile a list of all the claims and I can out any counterclaims or shady claims. That will only work if everyone code-lists everyone. Note: this does not apply to me since you all know my role.
  5. It has come to my attention that a few players have been claiming Vanilla Townie to random, unconfirmed trees behind the scenes. I would like to remind these players that this sort of behaviour is unadvised and will only hurt yourself.
  6. Yes, but the UK and Europe have different timezones as it is, and I in particular have a busy schedule. It's 9.15 pm here...
  7. Wow, I've missed a lot! I overlooked it because it was unimportant. I claimed miller, you said you believed the claim, end of. Simple as that. You recently sent me a PM telling me specifically not to trust Hazel, Barry or Simon. All three had accused you earlier today. You're very scared of being lynched and are clutching at straws at this point, very unlike our last game together. I didn't "translate" anything. This is a complete misrep. For these reasons, I will Vote: Catarina Dogwood (adventurer1). Oh, and my comment about Hazel was simple advice. It's obvious to everyone that she's slipping into the hole she dug. I was just pointing that out. Sheep. Bobby posted once today- a fluff post with no substance. Is this why you think he is Maple? I assumed that the investigator claimed to Bruce, who told Simon that he had been cleared. That's rather callous... I sympathise with you, being a fellow Brit on a forum with a different time scale.
  8. She's a confused newbie and her "fishing" looks bad. Both are true. Confused newbie doesn't necessarily mean town. "Fishing for info"? I asked you who you suspected.
  9. I have this glitch where random words from posts/PMs get highlighted in block capitals and are links to "Reimage Repair". DO NOT click on them.
  10. What sounds like a girl's name? Berty, or Dragonfire? I knew what a Miller was, I just didn't know how to play as one. I honestly wouldn't have claimed at all had I not been under suspicion. I googled "how to play as a miller" once I was under suspicion. Bobby and Larry are both n00bs, remember, and fillering / random defending / fluff posting are what n00bs do. Not saying that this is excusable behaviour, but just pointing something out. Bobby did this in his previous game as scum. Obviously he hasn't learned. Was this an intentional pun??
  11. Oh, I forgot to say that I think Bobby's lurking/unhelpfulness and Hazel's fishing both look bad to me. Are you suggesting that the Vigilante publicly outing can be compared to my outing? They're totally different. The Miller role is the only role which is advantageous to out on Day One. Public outing is only good at the end of the game when there are only a few trees left, or when a scum can be caught by it. Stop talking abut the Vigilante. It's only making you look worse and look like you're slipping deeper into the hole you dug for yourself. I never insinuated that you thought there was more than one. I just pointed out that there was likely to be more than one. Pedit: unlikely
  12. After re-reading all 8 pages, I can say that in particular, Catarina, Chester and Agnes are looking scummy. But hey, that's nothing new. Hazel is looking a bit like a confused newbie. I personally think that the stumps should claim at their discretion;; it is their choice. Stumps, you might want to PM the host and ask if you "die" at the end of the day. In terms of the possible janitor action, I've played with the janitor role before, but it was on a very different site (the role was always a scum one-shot role and townies were always targeted). It is possible that this applies to all lynches. Alastair could have gone either way IMO. One thing, before I reply to the stuff mentioning me and my claim: Barry posted his case yesterday against Catarina. I've received a PM from Catarina which makes it clear that she's still only suspecting those who suspect/argue with her. Ping. I'm also surprised. Yeah, nobody cares . I claimed to Simon because I thought that he might already be in contact with the investigator (because he does seem to be a "hot spot" for PM activity doesn't he?). I wasn't sure about how to handle the miller role, and I came to the conclusion that it wouldn't really hurt me to claim it; it would benefit town to know the existence of a miller. I did think that I would be the investigation target, because out of the whole discussion yesterday, I viewed myself as one of the main targets of suspicion and therefore a possible investigator target. Oh, and I'm a he. There is unlikely to be more than one Bomb in the game. As I said, I've never been, or played with, a miller before and I was unsure about how to handle the role. Exactly. And it wasn't reputation, but rather I didn't want town to waste an investigation on me and therefore a lynch too.
  13. OK. I just logged in and there are 8 pages of Day Two already! Timezones... Going to start rereading now, but first I'd like to speculate that Buck was the Vig/SK kill and Lauren was the scum's kill (this has probably already been discussed to death). Oh, and I was totally correct about my treestump assumption in the C&D thread.
  14. Sounds good! It will really be awful for whoever died in the night- such an anticlimactic wait.
  15. I am getting this problem too. Ads from the company "eDeals" keep invading my screen whenever I click on Eurobricks.
  16. If Alastair turns out to be an Oak, we can analyse his interactions with others and deduce whether they are likely to be a townie or a Maple. We can also look at his bandwagon and find scum on it. Yeah, I was thinking that too. Even if he isn't town, there are likely to be scum on his wagon. However, if Alastair does turn up to be a Maple, then we should look at the late voters on his bandwagon and those who voted for Bruce (the secondary wagon to Alastair).
  17. I weighed up the possible benefits/drawbacks, and decided that there were more benefits to claiming. As I said, it would avoid the investigator wasting an investigation and then a day's lynch on me. I wouldn't have claimed had I had any other role, but in this case I decided that it was optimal to claim. I would laugh if the Maples tried to counter-claim me, but I doubt they will because it is a very risky move. Any counter-claiming Maple would die very quickly- it would make it 50/50 between us.
  18. OK. I have something to say to all you trees out there. I am the Town Miller. This means that if I am investigated, I will appear as a Maple I've claimed my role to someone in PM and they advised me to claim it out loud. I'm choosing to claim it now because I feel I am likely to be the investigator's target tonight and I wouldn't want them to waste their investigation on me and get the wrong result. There are no real benefits to me staying silent as at some point I will probably be investigated and claiming it after an investigation report would make me look like caught scum trying to escape. Believe my claim if you like. Investigator, just remember that whether I am lying or not, I am guaranteed to appear as a Maple to your investigation so there is no point in checking me tonight.
  19. Are you talking to me or Bruce? If you're talking to me, then I think Alastair's behaviour could either be coming from a confused, newbie scum or a confused, newbie townie. They're actually quite similar (I've been both myself- in mafiascum.net games in the past). He is playing in a scummy way, but that doesn't necessarily mean he is a Maple. There is little point in me voting for Alastair at this point because the lynch has been sealed. Before you accuse me of trying to not look bad/look good (like Chester earlier), consider the two options: jumping on a wagon after the lynch has been sealed, or not joining the wagon. The former would make me look bad whatever Alastair flips;; the latter would make me look bad were he to flip scum. And I would definitely have voted to get a lynch had the lynch not been sealed.
  20. So it seems Alistair will be lynched. Since he has the required number of votes, I'm not going to, as Buck puts it, "nail it some more". There's really not much point in me changing my vote as the lynch has been sealed, but I will just say that Barry's case on Catarina has changed my opinions on her. I find Alistair both scummy and confusing, but I have a sinking feeling that he's town (like most Day 1 lynches). At least if he does flip Oak, it will give us information on those most involved with him (namely Hazel, Bruce and Catarina)
  21. I believe Alistair is in the lead with 9 votes on him (13 votes required for a lynch). Bobby is coming second with his 5 penalty votes;; nobody else has more than two votes. (Catarina, Hazel, Bruce and Larry have two votes apiece)
  22. By "poorly recycled reasoning", I meant that you took things that Clem and Bruce had said and just copied them out. You didn't bring anything new to the table, didn't ask me to elucidate on my comments, and told me that my vote on you was an attempt to divert attention from myself. How would my vote on you divert attention from myself? I voted you to get you to speak up. I did not think you were a Maple, and I didn't expect anyone else to. And what's wrong with not wanting to be suspected/scrutinised? Most players, town or scum ,would prefer not to be scum-read/attacked.
  23. I've also caught up and read the previous few pages. Alistair is looking rather suspicious, but his comments could have been down to newbie inexperience and typing before he thought. I'll vote for him if it's nearing the deadline and nothing really has changed, because a lynch is always better than a no-lynch, but although he will definitely remain on my scum list, he doesn't get my vote right now. Chester is also pinging my scum-dar. I know people have already given these reasons, but his post accusing Bobby of editing could come across as scum trying to push a lynch off penalty votes (or it could just be a newbie error). Besides, his concern about how he'll look if he joins a bandwagon rubs me the wrong way. His vote for Alistair is also off-putting because in the last game I played on Eurobricks, Chester was mafia;; he voted around the middle point of the bandwagon with little justification and turned out to be scum. He's displaying similar behaviour here... But my vote is going to remain on Agnes. He has posted since my vote, but all he did was OMGUS vote me and type a few lines of poorly recycled reasoning against me that others had already used. I had two votes on me at that point and it seemed as if he was trying to get momentum on my wagon. Furthermore, my vote on him was merely a poke to get him to speak. I never said he was a Maple, so the OMGUS reaction was not called for.
