Nice sets. I really love all of them About minifgs: The pirate woman is really cool, much better than both 1989/2009 versions. The male pirates look cool too, but the bluecoats are absolutely awesome!!!! But a bad point about that them is the fact some of these bluecoats don't wear hat. About sets: I don't like Brick bounty's sails, they look so childish...arg!!! And obviously, that ship won't be as cool as Black Seas Barracuda or Skull eyes's schooner. By the way, Brick bounty's captain seems to have Captain Roger/Redbeard's torso. I like the detail of the shark's gills. Treasure island is a nice and improved new version of an old 1996 set. I like the new crocodile, but I don't like the boat's firing weapon Pirate treasure hunt is so lovely even being a junior set...is nice to have a new captain...but I must admit I miss a new version of Ironhook in the same way Brickbeard is a new version of Roger/redbeard. I like the shark's gills again Soldiers fort has nice minifigs and accesories but is a poor set compared with the awesome Eldorado Fortress. Even 2009 Soldiers fort is better than this new set. Soldiers outpost is nice but much worse than Lagoon lock up or sabre island. In any case I'm glad we'll have new pirate sets ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Great MOC mate!!! I totally love the ship and the minifigs. I like that ship has 4 cannons in the same way as BSB I see there are a pirate with a brown bandana in the rigging. I have noticed too about the pirate woman that has long hair and violet bandana. Could someone tell me the origin of that accesories(brown bandana, long dark hair with violet bandana)? In any case your MOC is great, congrats

I'm not a redcoat or a bluecoat. I am a pirate and both are my enemies. However, I like the bluecoat attitude and I don't like seeing a drunk redcoat. By te way, you created a new bluecoat design because TLC released new material redcoats in 2009, but not new material bluecoats. However, TLC created new virtual bluecoats in Lego Battles: Personally I prefer that bluecoats with red epaulets to your bluecoat with yellow epaulets. I am not blaming you, but i have other preferences, -
Both are good ships, I don't know what ship is better. CC has anchor, IF not. 1 point to CC IF has more realistic riggings. 1 point to IF In any case, I prefer IF, so i have voted IF

I wrote a post about this yesterday but it has lost. In 6278 EB review photos, Ironhook has red hair: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16461 in 6264 EB review photos, he has brown hair instead. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=34869 i bought 6278 in 1994 and Ironhook has brown hair in my set. He appears with brown hair in both set boxes -

Ironhook and Roger aren't the same guy. Ironhook has brown hair, and Roger has red hair. By the way, roger fought against Ironhook in the 1993 Lego Japanese TV commercial: -

Grimmbeard: Pete hasn't a crew. He is considered a captain because he hasa bicorne with the jolly roger logo. PrivateGoat: Captain Pete hasn't gold accesories. I guess you mean Brickbeard or the new Captain of minifigure series MstrOfPppts: This poll is about non-POTC Lego Pirate Captains. By the way you are wrong about there is only one true captain: 1) Captain Roger is the leader of a big crew, has 3 pirate ships and 3 bases 2) Captain Ironhook is the leader of the Renegade Runner tripulation 3) Captain Brickbeard is the leader of the Brickbeard's bounty tripulation. 4) The new Captain of the collectable minifigures is a captain according with his biography. 5) Pete is supposed to be a captain because he has a black bicorne with the jolly roger, but we don't know anything about his life. We can doubt about if he is a captain or not, but Roger, Ironhook, Brickbeard and the collectable minifigure are true pirate captains, and this is undenyable. -
Great MOC except to the Hello Kitty flag. WALK THE PLANK!!!!

Which LEGO Pirate captain is your favorite?

I can't count that nasty piece of plastic in this story either. But once you said the junior captain Redbeard released in 2004 isn't a re-brand of 1989-1997 Captain Redbeard, you are expressing a personal opinion, not a fact. Other people would think that nasty and childish piece of plastic is a re-brand of Captain Roger/Redbeard, and they will be offended. So TLC made a mistake once thet gave that nasty piece of plastic the name of Captain Redbeard. And if Lego did it, Lego could say Brickbeard is Roger/redbeard too. By the way, Captain Pete has 5 votes but no one have said "my vote for Captain Pete". Who has voted him? -

You are right, Sebeus. I am trying to explain Moschino about he is wrong when he says a serious company like Lego won't change an original design because a big Captain Roger/Redbeard fan would be insulted if you will say it that Brickbeard is Captain Roger/Redbeard. The fact that TLC gave that name to an awful minifig is a great proof. Saying that terrible and childish minifig is Captain Redbeard is MUCH MORE offensive that saying Brickbeard is Redbeard...and Lego did it. -

You are wrong about The Lego Company won't change officially Captain Roger/Redbeard's design for marketing reasons. They did it in 2004: http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/7075-1 -
Which LEGO Pirate captain is your favorite?

You kid about this because when you read "official documents", you think about FBI, CIA, and something like that, but there are Official Lego documents, like catalogues, comics and magazines, that told us information about the characters. We know about the names of the pirates Roger/Redbeard, Will, Anne, Rummy, and Flashfork thanks to the promotional comic that Lego released in 1989. We know the names of Governor Broadside and Liutenant De Martinet thanks to the same comic. Thanks to Lego catalogues, we know the name of Captain Ironhook, King Hakuka, Admiral Woodhouse and Captain Brickbeard. And thanks to an official Lego magazine, we know the names of all Redbeard Runner tripulation. If an official Lego magazine/website/catalogue/whatever tell us that Brickbeard and Roger are the same person, we can assure they are the same person. -

Are you sure? I haven't seen an official Lego document that express Roger and Brickbeard are the same person. We can believe it, but we can't assure it until we could read an official document. Brickbeard is (no doubt about it) the replacement of Roger. Both have the same pegleg, the same lack of right hand(but different hook), both have red beard, an eyepatch on their right eyes, black and smart clothes, etc. But I think they aren't the same person, because they have different names. -

Captain Roger replied to Captain Roger's topic in LEGO Pirates
Sebeus, when you said "pauldrons", you mean epaulets Yawgmoth, you are wrong about Roger is the real and only pirate captain of all Lego pirate system. Ironhook is a lego system pirate captain too. He is the leader of the renegade runner and has a little number of pirates under his orders. in 2009's pirate sets, TLC didn't write "Lego system" in boxes, so Brickbeard isn't a Lego system captain. Pete and the new captain from Minigigure series 2012, neither. However, is proved that Roger, Ironhook, Brickbeard and 2012 Pirate captain Minifigure lived in the same world. We already know Roger and Ironhook lived in the same era. By the way, in the official biography of the 2012 pirate captain minifis, we can read: So we can assure that 4 captains lived in the same world (However, they could live in different eras, because we haven't Official Lego documments proving Brickbeard lived in the same era as Roger and Ironhook). I guess Pete lived in the same world, then. I'm trying to explain Lego system pirates (Roger, Ironhook) lived in the same world of non-Lego system pirates (Brickbeard, Captain Pirate of minifigure series 2012, Pete) -

Mister Phes: I got the name "Captain Pete" in the previous poll, started in 2009. I don't know where the autor of that poll got that name. Moschino: Creating a poll doesn't obligate me to create another one. On the other hand, I have created a poll about what Lego pirate captain do you prefer, excluding POTC minifigs (Jack Sparrow, Barbossa, Davy Jones and Blackbeard), so creating a new poll with non-POTC ships and POTC ships shouldn't be a continuation of this poll. I can't believe Captain Pete has 3 votes and Brickbeard only 2. I can't believe either that Pete has more votes than Ironhook. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR -
Well, here the captains: 1989 Captain Roger/Redbeard Ironhook Brickbeard Captain Pete Pirate Captain 2015 Captain Roger/Redbeard Captain from Pirate Treasure Hunt Pirate Captain from Pirates Perilous Pitfall My vote is for Captain Brickbeard. For me, this is the "podium": 1. Captain Brickbeard 2. Pirate Captain of Minifigure series 2012 3. 1989 Captain Roger/Redbeard About the other captains, for me, the worst by far is Captain Pete. I don't know how to rate the others. On one hand, I prefer smart captains to ragged captains so I have never been an Ironhook fan, but on the other hand Ironhook is the only one ragged captain in the LEGO universe, and I apreciate originality too. Hope see your votes and comments, mates! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRR

all are great sets but my favourite of the tree is ITP. EF is a great set but ITP is better because has 3 cannons instead 2, has a bigger building, a merchant ship, and a pirate with an axe(axes are uncommon weapons in lego Pirates Theme, so is nice to have a exceptional weapon here). RIF is a great set too, but is not as great as ITP.
-
One of the best sets. I love the minifigs(2 redcoats and Captain Roger/Redbeard), the structure of the island, the tunnel with the skull, the hidden gun and blade under captain's table... That set is great. But Rock island refude is even better because it has a prison and a more realistic structure.

Black Seas Barracuda vs Skull's Eye Schooner
Captain Roger replied to ukdevilz's topic in LEGO Pirates
When I wrote this, I had SES but not BSB, so I didn't know the how great and wonderful is BSB. I was wrong when I said that. Now I have both ships, BSB and SES, and I prefer BSB to SES because: BSB poopdeck is much cooler and detailed than SES poopdeck. 1 point to BSB BSB deck is much detailed and realistic than SES. SES deck looks empty compared with BSB. 1 point to BSB BSB's anchor system is much better and realistic too. SES anchor system is an odd job. I really pity the pirate who must throw and raise the anchor, because he may fall into the water(anchor system is in the BOW!). 1 point to BSB in 2005 I said SES sails are better because Black and white colours aren't as visible as red and white. I was wrong...SES sails are not discrete with that visible jolly roger emblem. BSB sails are more realistic. BSB can be camouflaged as a merchant ship if the pirates remove the flags...SES not. 1 point to BSB BSB's cannons can shoot good. SES's cannons not. 1 point to BSB If you enter a coffer in SES's stock, you can remove it easily. If you enter a coffer in BSB's stock...is really hard to remove it. SES has working rudder. BSB not. 1 point to SES TOTAL: BSB: 5 SES: 2 So I have changed my vote -
I don't like the fact you use real ropes instead LEGO ropes. Despite of this, great MOC, faithful to the POTC ship
-
GREAT MOC MATE! I see you are a great fan of Legend of Zelda, because your ships are named like OoT powers. And I can see the Triforce in the stern. In any case, your ship is great...I like the light effect, the deck and the stern
