I would assume that the Diameter of the New one is slightly bigger so it would not fit....

I would assume that you can not simply replace the old turntable with the new one in the 8043 without changing the design of the slewing mechanism because the old One has 56 teeth whereas the new one has 60 IIRC...

[REVIEW] 2H 2015 Video Reviews
Kumbbl replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thank you sariel!! do you really want to say that gearbox is more complex than that one of 8043 or 8258? This would be interesting News ;-) I ask this because 1 or 2 years ago there was a MOC of an excavator here which introduces a gearbox working with the same principle: constantly running motor and 3 levers - each with a driving ring - which operates the functions by switiching direction. Quite clever but also very clean and actually quite simple and very good understandable. So i had assumed that that one of this blue monster would be quite similar... Obviously a false assumption... ;-) -

They ARE very expensive. You Need 12 and you have to calculate with at least 200€ probably even more... -
Jaw dropping MOC - incredible in all aspects   - IMHO 100% HoF candidate...

[WIP] Ferrari 458 Speciale
Kumbbl replied to sm1995's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I have a (very) strong feeling, that i want to build the final product. The whole WIP is very promising and it looks as some new ideas have been implemented. Could be a pleasure to rebuild it. Therefore: do you have plans for instructions? And if yes: fully stepped PDF or CAD file? Last but not least: thank you for sharing this MOC! -
a nice article in the online-version of the german weekly journal SPIEGEL: http://www.spiegel.de/auto/fahrberichte/alfa-romeo-4c-spider-offene-variante-des-italo-sportwagens-a-1034952.html at least for all guy here able to read german - all others can use google translate....

I fully agree. With one addition: in case of MOCs (eg like Hans sheepos etc) the name of the designer should be mentioned and probably also the link to the official website where the original model is shown. This would be respectful. Apart from that i found nothing morally damnable... But as already said: IMO the prizes are way to high to get a successful business case. So IMO this website will sooner or later disappear...

Well, please take a look at this: http://www.spielstei...mobil-bunt.html AFAICS this is Designer Hans snow groomer - or should i say: this WAS or SHOULD BE the snow groomer - incredible color vomiting... But now something really important: Dear original designers of the models, i do not know why are you complaining and lamenting : Please read the section "Mehr Infos" (More infos): They write: "... Die Anleitungslizenzgebühr für das alte Original wird automatisch von uns bezahlt." (in english: The instructions license fee for the original model will be paid automatically by us". This means, for each renting transaction you (the designer) should get the fee for your instructions! - This remark is mentioned at each model with not-free instructions! I think you should control your incoming fees.... BTW: The whole description of this wonderful snow groomer is somehow strange and also partly wrong. In general the owners of this shop write sometimes complete nonsense - please read the following description about the C-model of 8110 designed by MrTekneex http://www.spielstei...up-orange.html: Translated from the section "Mehr Infos": "This model is a free -designed alternative model for Mercedes Unimog U 400 to 8110 , but completely different in look. First, you build it and it moves forward and back , the lights shine . With self imagination and without guidance and own parts you can redesign it to a model with a roof . Then 2 engines can be added and then it is remotely controlled . However, here also you imagination is in demand, which means that you often have to decide how you want to build … . It is only suitable for experienced hobbyists . The manual is very good , but somewhere it ends ...." I have bought the manual from MrTekneex and the bold marked text is simply wrong: The instructions are complete and there is no need for own imagination to make it RC - there is a additonal pdf which explains step by step how to make it RC... this text is not a good advertisment for this great C-model...

Well, this COULD be a business idea which COULD make sense but not with these ridiculous prizes. E.g. 8285 tow truck. They write its market prize is 700€ so its prize for 3 month rent is 170€. What a megablocks. In German this is called "abzocke" in english it is a rip off In Germany you get a 8285 in used but very good condition for less than 100€ - and then it is your own model the whole life...

which set-number is this model?
Kumbbl replied to Kumbbl's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
thank you very much! -
Hmm, i have a slightly strange feeling to ask this here but to be honest, i didn't find a better fitting theme... so - can anybody tell me the set number of this model: I have already googled for "Lego Ferrari" and also searched brickset.com but no success - i didn't find any picture of this model - or i have overssen something... @moderator: if this isn't an appropriate topic here please do not hesitate deleting it...

it's now on Rebrickable: http://rebrickable.c...romeo-4c-spider One hint to the partlist: when searching for the microphone (part nr. 90370pr0001 in rebrickable) then there are no search results on bricklink. You have to search for part nr 90370pb01 in bricklink... BTW: is there any rule of thumb for such number conversions between rebickable and bricklink?

Purchase advice - 8043 and 8110
Kumbbl replied to rynoster's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Eric, your value comparison between 8043 and 42030 is really Not fair, in no aspect: - 8043 offers 4 M Motors whereas 42030 offers the full assortment: M, L, XL and servo which costs a lot more and offer much more possibilities for other models - why do you compare the absolute min prize 8043 has been sold with the absolute max Prize of 42030?? At least here in Germany 8043 was sold most of the time for 169€ and the 42030 currently costs about 189€. Well, i like 8043 a lot more than 42030 but both offer more or less the same value for money! -
Thanks, this helps. Anyway: kudos to you for making these great professional BI! And of course kudos to Jeroen for this awesome supercar! I am sure it will look great side by side with the other white guy in my shelf: the predator ;-) Seems that 2015 is a great year for awesome and innovative and white supercars... Ah, i forgot the most Important: thank you for offering the BI for free!!

Purchase advice - 8043 and 8110
Kumbbl replied to rynoster's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Playability of 8110 is out of the box indeed not very good and the steering is crap, no doubt. But let us be honest: which models have a really high playability except e.g. 42030? 8043 really not!! Regarding playability the 8043 is in no way better than 8110. But the 8110 has - besides being on eof the best parts pack and looking really good - two USPs (unique selling points): a) it's one of the most realistic and authentic models regarding its concepts (portal, panrod, suspension, pneumatic crane) b) it's not one of the best but simply THE best model regading MODifyability - i 100% agree with the posting above from dr_spock and would like to extend it: It's not only MOCing of attachments but the unimog itself offer thousands of possibilities for MODing (better steering, RCing, openable doors, tiliting bed etc. etc.) Tell me another model/set which is on par regarding b) ... And: well, the 8110 has not the most complex gear-trains, right, but the build is far away from being boring.... e.g. boring is the build of 42030... But of course: if you are searching only the most exiting build, than you should really prefer 8043, that's right. PS. i love the 8043.... -
