Karie's Cosplay Mafia: Sign-Ups and Prologue
Kintobor replied to Kintobor's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
We're at 9 players right now, and although I could run a game with 9 players, the more people I get the more roles I get to include. I'll keep the sign ups open until we get at least 13, but 15 would be preferable. -

She's slain demons, dragons, and saved the world a few times. Now, Karie's preparing for her greatest challenge yet.. hosting a mafia game on Eurobricks. Karie's Cosplay Mafia sign ups are now open! -
Prologue Kintobor gingerly carried his luggage out to the trunk of his car, watching his step as he made his way out of his house. His trip to the Far Far Away BrickCon had been a long time coming, and he was visibly excited for the road trip accompanying his time at one of the world's largest Lego conventions. "No, wait, stop! You can't just leave me alone for who knows how long?" Karie rushed out of the house, following closely behind Kintobor. She was dressed in clothing more appropriate for a comic book convention than a normal Friday afternoon. "Look, can't you take a plane or something? Take me along with you or something?" Kintobor turned around, trying to be as cordial as he could with his new housemate. "Look, Karie," Kinto explained, "I've had this trip planned for months, and you've known about me leaving to go to this convention for months. I know things haven't been great for you since Heroica ended, but I need time to focus on things other than planning more mafia games and occasionally finding myself playing in one. You need to find yourself a hobby, Karie, that doesn't involve you streaming yourself playing video games or being the deliverer of death in my mafia games. Perhaps if you need some help looking for one I can help you out during my trip." "Yeah... whatever. Have fun on your trip, Kinto. Leaving me all alone in a house. By myself." Karie complained. "You'll be fine. You have my cellphone number. If something comes up, give me a call. Feel free to invite people over, just..." Kinto paused himself, trying to find the words. "Don't make any big messes, okay?" Kintobor got into his car after finishing loading his luggage. Waving goodbye to Karie, his vehicle sputtered down the road, leaving a trail of dust behind him. Karie was left watching her housemate drive away, left with her own thoughts. She was left with no real human interaction for who knows how long, in a rather cramped house. She could go back to playing video games on Twitch for cash, she thought. It was then, with the speed of a strike of lightning, that an idea entered Karie's brain. "No big messes? Hmm... Maybe I can do something fun while Kinto's away..." --- Welcome to Karie's Cosplay Mafia: The House Party! If you don't know who Karie is, don't worry. All you need to know is she's bored, and has free reign of a house for an undetermined amount of time. Sign ups will close next Friday, or until we get fifteen people. If we have more than fifteen I can accommodate. Here are your three questions you need to answer to be signed up: 1. Have you ever played Mafia before? If you answered yes, when was the last time you played on Eurobricks? 2. Do you have time to commit to a game of mafia? The game is expected to last roughly one month. 3. "Why should I invite you to my cosplay house party?" -Karie --- Rules: (Thanks Def. I'm stealing your rules.) 1. Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Town or the Scum. To win the game, the Town must kill off all the Scum, while the Scum needs to outnumber the Town. Third-party (neutral) characters have their own win conditions as outlined in their roles. 2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting is mandatory. Voting should be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. Failure to vote will incur a vote penalty the following game day. 3. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end when a majority vote has been reached after 72 hours. After the day has been concluded, a night stage will commence, which will last 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 20 hours of the night stage. 3.5. Players may not target the same player two nights in a row, and may not target themselves. 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. 5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to or from you in PM with the game host, or in PM with any other players. This includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 6. Do not play the game outside the thread. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the thread. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 7. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 8. You may not edit your posts. 9. You must post in every day thread. 10. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the host via PM 11. Violation of any of the above rules will result in a 5 vote penalty for the first offence, and death on your second offence. 12. There are no hints or clues in the day/night images.

The Forest Mafia Conclusion—You Played Your Cards Well

I was actually contemplating hosting again if no one was going to. I've got no desire at the moment to run an anonymous game, so it'll probably be a similar format to Kintobor's Cosplay Mafia. Fun game to watch, Hinckley! I always enjoyed the effort you put into your sets and your offbeat sense of humour! -

That gets an add-on at least once every three years. I'm all for a roster of enemies to pick and choose from, but we should allow wiggle room for creativity in enemy designs. Strike teams from an alien army might have different gear and abilities than the standard soldier found in the bestiary. -
Heroica: Glory Amongst The Stars RPG - Game Development

There was talk earlier about fighters using “spells”, and that was shot down, reasonably so. What if we had an action economy system, where actions cost points to perform? This could include spells, and I’d imagine certain abilities giving you action points in order to allow someone to increase their point pool. -

I've got a problem with the system already, and it's nothing to do with the numbers, but the visual aide. It's going to chew through store space on certain sites, and with Flickr now limiting pictures and not storage space, and Photobucket basically exploding, it's going to get fill up storage space fast. -

For book keeping sake, my suggestion would be to have a levelling system just as a means of keeping track how many points you should have. Say your character is level 12. Therefore, your character should have 12 points to allocate into the skill system, or something like that. -

Percentile system for which mechanics? Combat? Skill checks? Everything? Call of Cthulhu has an interesting percentile system which may be worth looking into if that's the direction we want to take this. -

I wouldn't mind getting into some ideas. I've been meaning to look into some of the class and combat ideas, and I had some ideas for the elves, taking inspiration from Warhammer 40k and The Elder Scrolls. It was nothing concrete, but some loose concepts to work off of. -

I count twelve. Bob's response simply doesn't answer the questions you set forward. As for myself, I think I'll sit this one out. Should be fun watching from the sidelines, though! -
Absolutely stunning. I'm at a lose for words. You've done a fantastic job.

Thanks for the game, Bob! I was considering running a Role Madness style game myself, but seeing as how you've beaten me to the punch, I'll hold off for a little while.

Monster Fighters, all the way. One of my favourite themes of the past few years, that theme still has some of my favourite mini figures and sets of the past decade, especially the Castle.

The rust effect on the boat is really impressive, as is the temple itself. I'm a sucker for Adventurer MOCs, and this one's really something else. I also noticed you included Pippin with the pith helmet from the Collectible Minifigure Series, and I'm shocked I haven't tried that yet. Any possibility we could get a better look at the ship?

This is really cute! I love the chicken coop and the colours you used for the van: lime green gives it a nice punch!

Sounds like an excellent idea! Most model train clubs I know of do something similar, and I have a few of the club specific box cars that are around the area sitting in my HO collection.

So long as I don't get sued for mafia theme theft. -
I saw Cheese Shop and half expected it to be empty. You have a wonderful model on your hands! I love the colours, especially in the interiors! The outside detailing around the front is excellent too, especially using the upside down skeleton leg for the stand for the flower pot. Job well done!
