I think Neutral Evil and Lawful Evil are pretty easy to do. It's Chaotic Evil that's a bit harder to pull off. There is something I wanted to say regarding allowing Evil PCs into Heroica 2.0, but it'll have to wait until I can surmise my opinion. Basically, if we want Evil PCs, the players who play them need to understand that you're playing the long game, and you might not succeed in your goals. Be prepared to retire your character when their scheme comes to fruition. -

Dunola raises an eyebrow. She was initially irritated that the spies stopped the speech of their leader short, but her mood quickly formed into one of moodiness. "Laid eyes upon the Great Sovereign? Ah, that artifact back at the auction house was some holy relic then if the crime for viewing your sovereign is heresy. If it means anything, the image was really, really fuzzy. It was more like a scrambled glimpse than a full view." Dunola proceeded to furrow her brow when the captain fired a shot of at the robot. "And that was rude." Dunola's voice got raspy with anger. "Nah, I think we're killing someone." Dunola remarked, backing up Tester-Three. -

Dunola nods to the Cydonians, wanting to be away from the faceless authority figures as soon as possible. Reaching the ship, Dunola takes out her e-pipe, only to remember Kleeck's request. "Eh, bummer." She puts it away, taking a sit in the ship. "Make that two of us." Dunola chimes in. "I'm somewhat curious to see this High Adjudicator and hear their speech myself." -

I'm going to disagree with this point. I think a PC being a former engineer who worked on devices and weapons is totally in line with a reasonable backstory. Sabine Wren from Star Wars Rebels was a weapons designer in the Imperial Academy before defecting after creating a weapon which could vapourize Mandalorians, her own people, by targeting the material made in their armour. She realized the threat it posed and made every effort to sabotage the program before leaving and joining the Ghost crew. I'd say that kind of backstory is acceptable in this kind of backstory. That being said, you'd need the skills to back that story up. I'd say at least two ranks in engineering and two in either explosions, long weapons, melee weapons, short weapons, or arcana would seem reasonable. I like this new skill system since it forces you to look at your skills in relation to your backstory. I liked Heroica 1.0's simplicity when it came to backstory, but if we're going to have skill checks, your backstory should line up with what you've selected for skills. A doctor should have skills revolving around healing and medicine at the start of the game, a mercenary is a little bit more open ended, but they should have skills that reflected their role in their squadron. A priestess of Solaria should have points in faith to reflect their time studying her goddess's scripture and performing acts of faith for the poor. Heroica 2.0 is shaping up to be a different beast from Heroica 1.0, and that's a good thing. Character skills will now reflect character backstory. -

Dunola considered relating the indie she remembered to Yelana... but it could wait. Her eyes caught ahold of the crystal before it transmitted it’s vision into her head. She clutched her forehead and winced. ”Ugh, well, that was concerning. Still, we need to leave.” Reaching the surface, Dunola looked at the Cydonian in front of the group. She put her pipe away out of respect. ”It’s like my friend here said, we’re on our way to the space port. As much as we’d enjoy staying for the parade, we must be going.” -

Dunola blew a cloud out into the air, forming a ring as she responded to Enson. "Eh, I find loyalty to be an honourable trait. Sure, we could sell this to any old rich, pompous fool, but then what does that say about me? No, as much as I enjoy money, I enjoy making my money honestly more. Also, I guess being in the camp that wanted to end Jek I need to pipe in, but I was hoping for something a little less... um, messy? Keeping Jek alive is a loose end, a grudge coming back to potentially harry us when we least expect it. Jek could easily inform the Cydonians about our activities and they'd chase us across the galaxy. I, for one, would prefer if that wasn't the case, and we snuffed that grudge out before it could bloom. As much as I don't agree with Igaz's methods, he did what was best for the group." Dunola, using her Engineering and Arcana, ponders on whether or not cloning is a something she's heard of. -

I have unfortunately been rather busy, and I'm sorry I haven't been able to commit as much as I wish I could. That being said, I have been having a good time, Endgame! As for Yelana, Classic Spaceman, I notice that an issue seems to be trying to communicate concepts that you're trying to convey. I think Yelana started speaking a different language at one point? This would be okay, if any of us potentially knew what it meant in-game. It kind of just came out of nowhere, and I guess there was this concept that we all understood it, but you cannot force us all to know that. It was also really hard to tell what you were communicating when everything you typed was in all caps. It really bled together and made it hard to read through. When everything reads important to a reader's eye, nothing is. That all being said, you did suggest that someone try something instead of forcing your way into doing that action yourself with the translator. That shows signs you've taken in criticism and learned from it. None of us were expert roleplayers when we first started, Classic Spaceman, at least for myself, I'm giving advice in the hopes it makes better roleplayers. -

Dunola, who was still trying to get the vision of Jek’s splattered brains out of her head through intensive use of her e-pipe looked to Enson and shrugged. ”Because we don’t get paid if the egg doesn’t get returned to the buyer.” Dunola took a drag off of her e-pipe, blowing happy little clouds into the air. ”I’m no philosopher, Enson. I like watching things explode in a controlled environment and saving the day like a badass. So far, today’s been... interesting.” Dunola nods. -

Dunola raises a finger at Kleeck. "First of all, one, my hair isn't long enough to make rope. Two, and most importantly, there's few things as crude as insulting a dwarf's beard, you overgrown, flightless-" Dunola stepped back as Jek's brains splattered everywhere, losing focus on Kleeck. "When I said put him out of his misery, I didn't insinuate to crush his skull in under your boot, Igaz!" Dunola groans as she moves away from the pool of brain juice and blood pooling around Jek's crushed head and across the floor. -

"So, I assume one of you can produce the rope to tie him up?" Dunola asked inquisitively to Enson. "He's more trouble than he's worth. Put him out of his misery and be done with it. He fought valiantly, and we do not want to create more grudges for us to deal with down the line. We are on a planet occupied by a militaristic force. We can't leave people who could potentially draw the military's ire towards us." -

"You're looking at a member of Clan Matar. Explosions are our specialty!" Dunola snaps her fingers as small magic sparks fly out. "I could also whip up some illusion, should we need one. It might be worthwhile to create a "fake egg", or hide the egg as something else, so to speak. Obfuscate might not be nearly as flashy as an explosion, but it might be more worthwhile... I guess." Dunola felt somewhat upset at the potential lack of explosions. Illusions over explosions felt wrong to her dwarven heart. -

“Eh, makes sense to me.” Dunola responds to Rayfo. “Not every one of us is made for the clan lifestyle. Some of us buckle under its rigid structure.” Dunola turned to Myra, grinning. “Dunola of Clan Matar, at your service!” Dunola leaned in. “I’ve got to say, Myra, I’ve never been to one of these before. I’m a little jittery!” “Do explosions count?” Dunola asked earnestly. “I’m good with those.” -

"Clan Alriza, eh?" Dunola replies, scratching her beard. "Can't say I've heard of that clan before. No matter. Take me inside, kinsmen!" As she enters, Dunola draws in the vapours off of her e-pipe and takes in the shady grandeur of the establishment. She stands by the human woman in the green coat, observing the game. "Pardon the intrusion, my name is Dunola of Clan Matar. I noticed a number of introductions, but not yours. Who might you be?" -

Between the argument breaking out between Enson and Yelana’s argument and her own investigation of her newly purchased helmet, Dunola moves over to Tester Three. ”When you hacked into that map, did you see any decent take out places? I could go for something sloppy about now.” Dunola looked around for the alley in the meantime, ready to proceed after she put her new helmet on.
