It was certainly an interesting mechanic, and props for originality. I'd debate on the agility of all rogues though. That's what makes rogues such an appealing class, because it encompasses so many character types. Charming, loveable con artists, acrobatic pickpockets (like Karie), and just straight up thugs. I think I would have made it a bit more versatile for different classes, but what I saw was an excellent first run through of a rather interesting mechanic. I thought it was neat!

I just don't see the logic in penalizing lower players in this fashion if Scuba's suggestion was used. (which I know it won't, but who doesn't love a good debate! ) Lower level players would still be low priority. If you have a level 18 berserker and a level 3 mage knocked out at the end of a fight, and could only revive one, who would you, as a player, revive? Mistakes happen. A character gets knocked out just before the party defeats the enemy. Well, looks like he's got a broken arm, tough luck. I wish we'd see more level neutral quests. As much as I hate to toot my own horn, Four's Company was rather level neutral. It had one battle, and the rest of experience was the reward. As much as I gripe about The Marketplace Mystery, it was level neutral. I honestly just can't get behind an idea that penalizes players for a roll of the die, particularly newer players.

If we're trying to close the gap between low and high level players, then why would this help close the gap? Imagine a party of level ones. They're new, inexperienced, and are going to screw up. One of the members gets knocked out, and being level ones, have no way to revive him. The hero is then jinxed until the quest ends. Permanently. How is the rest of the party supposed to function with a jinxed hero? You might as well call it there, since there's no way they're going to be able to go on with a jinxed hero. It may work for higher levels, and I'm really stretching the may, but I really disagree with this idea.

Battle order Eric vs. Zombie Paladin Commander A- Shield (22x2+22=66-2=64 for everything but Commander A and B. Commander A and B= 62 damage) Eric vs. Zombe Paladin Commander A- Special Damage (Stunned!) >Avalanche vs. Zombie Paladin Axeman B- Miss >Althior- Light on Paladin Knight B- Raise the Dead ( Violet vs. Spearman B- Damage (18-2=16 damage) Throlar vs. Zombie Paladin Knight A- Special Damage (Throlar Bleeding and Poisoned -1!) Spearman C and Zombie Paladin Commander B on Eric= 18+45/2=9 damage. KO!) Throlar: -6 damage The tides turn against the party as despite Eric dealing all around damage to all enemies, he quickly finds himself flailing his sword at too many opponents! They quickly overrun him and pin him to the ground, knocking him out. Avalanche takes his trusty club, aiming straight for the head of his target, but manages to miss it entirely! Althior, using his necromancer abilities, calls back the undead Violet sent away. With five trusty allies on his side, he quickly moves them around him in preparation of the oncoming onslaught. Violet manages to get stabbed by her target, not even seeming to flinch, while Throlar gets ambushed by his target, who takes a bite into his skin. The wound bleeds and burns with pain as Throlar moves back. The situation becomes grim, but from inside the tomb, the party can hear somewhat of ruckus going on, a figure pushing the undead aside, raising it's blade up and slicing at some of the opponents coming towards them. Bloody and bruised, Father McCreary emerges from the tomb, sword in hand. "It's going to take more than that to kill me, you tainted filth! I am the pastor of this church, and you will return to your resting places!!" McCreary drives his sword through the skull of one of the oncoming undead. He makes his way through the crowd and to the party, sword in hand. "Four years since I drew this sword. Let's see if I still got it, shall we heroes?" Father McCreary joins the party!
