"...which five? Heckz, we need to be more specific, particularly with these teens. Joy, Willow, Peppy, and Sheldon, and you, Professor Watt, sit in the box, and hold onto your butts. Utulië, your sticking with us. Professor Watt, if you'd like to stay and get the artefact from your office, let us know now instead of when you're in the box."

The Cemetery and Church is still built: it's going to be put on a train layout and it's actually not finished. My first quest started with an unfinished model. I'll post the finished model in the Town forum most likely, so if you want the full thing, when it's done I'll post it there.

I don't know, honestly. I look into it though, even if I have to remake the image. Thanks for the heads up.

I wouldn't call McCreary a necrotheist, if anything he's an atheist. In a world where there are multiple deity's and all of them are buried in the same cemetery, being an atheist, the only thing he answers to is Death, one of the few connecting factors in any religion. If he was a necrothiest, he'd answer to Helvetia.

Heroica RPG- Quest #94: Go Now, In Peace
Kintobor replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Hmph. Beside the usual nonsense with our usual residents, none that I can think of. It's just these undead paladins. Although, it seems now the issue I'm getting isn't with the dead, but the living! First those hooded, multi coloured Syndicate vigilantes run about here trying to catch an apparent killer, and then Jensen keeps telling me trespassers keep getting in at night. A week ago it was a group of kids from the Academy, thought it would be fun to see who could stay in the cemetery the longest." McCreary rolls his eyes. "Kids these days..." -
Heroica RPG- Quest #94: Go Now, In Peace

McCreary responds with a frown, his voice turning grim. "It's nothing of your concern. When I left Eubric for the icy northern reaches, I left a lot behind. Needless to say, I had to make peace with my mistakes in Värtland as well. We'll leave it at that, Eric." McCreary takes a deep breath before scratching his beard, looking at the crew. -
Heroica RPG- Quest #94: Go Now, In Peace
Kintobor replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
McCreary turns to the nord. "You don't need to lecture me on the burial practices of the nordic people, Eric. I spent the better part of a year up in Värtland, and somehow I managed to survive. My records state the Paladin Order did not want cremation of their fallen unless otherwise stated, so take it up with them, not me. Everyone has their own interpretation of the afterlife, and everyone worships their own deity. In my line of work, there's only one god, and his name is Death." -
Alright, I think I'll talk about 91, because it was a mess of a quest. I'm deeply sorry for what happened over the quest, the delays were brutal, and many of them I couldn't see coming. I at least hope you could tolerate it and have a good time. I also want to thank Flipz. Honestly, you saved my rear end countless times, and I'm grateful for what you did for me. You're a good buddy, and nothing I say can truly show how honestly thankful you were there to help me out to run those rounds. Phew, enough of that, lets get this overview dealt with. Overall: I intended to host a Ji Pei quest due to the fact that there really wasn't a lot of Ji Pei quests. Same with Bonaparte, and I do intend to run a Bonaparte one off at some point, but I had a more concrete idea for a Ji Pei quest then I did a Bonaparte one. I thought a delivery involving an important item being stopped by various other houses would be interesting, so I cooked up the Vibrataphone, and decided that the Wolfgang and Hinckwell's would be ample groups to take it, the Wolfgang to assist the Hovels and get a legitimate source of income, and the Hinckwells since they wanted exclusive rights to the item. Of course, the party gave it to the intended group, so they got the added minstrel song reward. I'm not all that happy with the quest. The delays, the black out, my grandfather, it was just problem after problem after problem. I felt as if it got repetitive after a while, and my attempt to spruce things up with a puzzle didn't help either. I also wanted to build the lobby for the Tritech Headquarters, and that never got made due to everything that went on during the last week or so. At least it's done, and I can move on. If there's one thing I did enjoy, it was the Wolfgang battle. It was hard as nails, and I could tell with you guys getting knocked about. I felt like Endgame! In particular the Changeling was a lot of fun, and I hope to throw some more at a party eventually. It was neat seeing a party basically get tossed around by their own special attacks! I may do character write ups in a bit, we'll see. I want to hear what others have to say first, but thank you for dealing with me and my life for the past two months, and I hope to QM you again!

Heroica RPG- Quest #94: Go Now, In Peace
Kintobor replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Very good, sir. I'm glad we can come to an understanding. If you need anything, there's wine and some pastries in the back pantry. Feel free to help yourself, sir." McCreary chuckles. "They'll be no need for a map. I'll show you there myself. The only thing surrounding the crypt are various tombstones and markers, however we haven't seen any disturbances from them. At least, not yet. As for the most recent incident, it would have been about two weeks ago. Malastor and Drucilla Eldritch both came down to see their stillborn son's grave when they claimed an undead paladin shambled toward them, weapon in hand. Similar incidents have occurred since then, but have increased gradually." -
I intend to release the Nocturne of Shadow at some point, but I realize it will decimate humanoids, so it will be released separately.
-
Karie looks at the rest of the party. "What? I swear I wasn't this bad, okay!" "Noel, if you think it would help, I'd be more than willing to go with you. However, we run into the issue of sending people back in the boxes. Are you the only one that can summon the boxes?"

And Strivvi 2 has begun! I keep hearing about this Strivvi quest but never actually read it. Maybe I should get around to it one of these days.

His hair's tied in a pony tail, and he appears to be a little hefty. "Good afternoon gentlemen. Why don't we get out of the cold and into my office?" The party follows the pastor through the pews of the church, and into his office. "I don't believe I've met any of you before. I am Father McCreary, pastor here at the Way's End Church and Cemetery. Now then, Heroica, I've got a problem on my hands, one that if not dealt with immediately could spiral out of control into chaos. Just recently we've heard complaints about undead paladin corpses roaming the cemetery, and causing general havoc. My gravedigger Jensen has figured out where all these undead are coming from, the oldest paladin crypt in the cemetery, dating back to just after the Orc War. I want you... er... five... I believe I hired four of you?" McCreary peers at the dwarfs companion, scowling. "Well then, Mr. Wineghilim, I refuse to pay your companion, and I also refuse any assistance from him. I hired Heroicans, not unarmed individuals. Without a weapon, he'll probably wind up getting devoured, considering these undead paladins aren't the typical fare we get around here. He's more than welcome to stay here in my office though for the time being. Our cemetery's haunted, but our denizens tend to stay to themselves. These undead have been harassing mourners and apparently have gone off of the grounds and chased residents. The solution's simple: I want you to go into the crypt and spread some holy water about. I believe the tomb's become tainted by some foul presence, and the holy water should stop the undead paladin issue. In all honesty, this shouldn't be all that difficult. I would do this myself, but I feel I'm getting too old for this sort of thing, and your organization has been excellent in assisting me in the past. It's just if we don't deal with this soon we could have a crisis on our hands. Now then, is there any questions before I take you to the tomb?" OOC: You guys have 24 hours to confirm. If you guys purchased from the Marketplace, please let me know so I can change your stats. Lets get this show on the road.

"Thailon, there's not a lot of logic in that. We should ship the special cases with normal students, so we avoid being left with a bunch of pointers and midgets and Fonzies all wanting to complain. ' ship our midget with the rest of our students, and take the pointer with us for now."

The topic thread's being made now. Hold on.
-
The first group were Wolfgang, the second was a group hired by the Hinckwells.
-
Hope you guys like the conclusion. I thought for a bit what song to use to wrap everything up, and considering the game and what happened during the quest, the song I used felt right.

Heroica RPG- Quest #91: The Sounds of Music
Kintobor replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
With the musical sheets passed out, Dr. Raph gives out a slight cough. "Well then, I must say, I'm more than a little giddy to see this thing in action. Dr. Don? Shall we take a listen?" "I don't see why not! Heroes: we will be the first people to ever hear a recorded voice. I believe this is a cause for a toast." The heroes toast glasses with the two scientists. Dr. Don sets his drink down and inserts a random roll into the Vibrataphone. Putting the needle at the start of the roll, he turns a crank. A soft whirring noise starts as the needle moves across the roll. Slightly scratchy, but still clear sound emits out of the devices large output, as the party and the scientists listen, for the very first time, to the sounds of recorded music. A half drunken orc stumbles into the hall. Straightening his hat, he meanders up to the quest board and places a notice. He rummages through his outfit, grabs a flask and staggers out of the hall again, the flask firmly placed to his lips. "Will the following individuals please come to the Way's End Chapel posthaste: Chosen Heroes for Quest 94 Althior Emorith, Level 36.5 Necromancer (K-Nut) Throlar Wineghilim, Level 9 Knight (Lord Duvors) Avalanche, Level 12 Barbarian (Dragonfire) Eric, Level 22.33 Raider (Khorne) -Father McCreary" OOC: You guys have some time to get your supplies. The quest will be up in a bit.

Really the undead look of the villains! They look quite grotesque, in all honesty. The lionesses and the tigers look really cool. I'm surprisingly not all that thrilled of the Phoenixes, but I'll definitely try to pick up the Temple, it looks quite good in terms of figures and parts. All around really cool!

Heroica RPG- Quest #91: The Sounds of Music
Kintobor replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Dr. Don takes the Vibrataphone from Dek'ra, a broad smile across his face. He sets the device on the desk, then takes the crate of rolls, peering through them. "Yes, that does appear to be everything in one piece... excellent! Everything's here, safe and sound! Wonderful, simply marvellous! We'll get to work on mass producing the device shortly!" Dr. Raph returns, a tray in both hands with various mugs and tea cups carefully placed on it. Four pouches slouch in the centre of the tray, as well as a few rolled up pieces of paper, red and gold ribbon keeping them rolled up. "Here you are, Lawrence and Ellaria, your tea, and your cocoa sirs Dek'ra and Hybros. As well, here's your reward of 100 gold. Consider yourselves in high regards with the Tritech Company and the Ji Pei!" He hands out the drinks and the pouches, shaking each heroes hand (Hybros's a little reluctantly). He then serves Dr. Don before drinking his own cup of steaming cocoa.
