Hey y'all. I've been away on some work trips, but have gotten a few more done. Some of these are pretty rough and some are awaiting parts. I need a bunch of 1x1s to make certain characters taller. I wish LEGO made a mid-size taller leg, in different colors. Woody's is too goofy looking. Anyway, here you go: Not wanting to get trumped by ReZourceman's Galactus/Heralds triumph, Aunt May: Just because I need a DD/MM in my life (PLEEEEZE GET ON THAT LEGO!!!): A Bryne-inspired She-Hulk, as he always had her in work-out gear...and she seems like she would dig Hello Kitty: Jewel and her man...her Power Man (who is still looking for some hair): Rough...very rough Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man, both who are cheating with non-purist rubberbands: Some mutant fellows with checkered pasts, Quicksilver and cartoon Morph: Aaaaand, the wimpiest Darksied you'll ever see: Hope you enjoyed, thanks for looking!

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

Thanks for getting to my questions about licensing--you are probably correct about strictness on the licensing. As to your statement above, I have to disagree. Many children enjoy comics and are quite up-to-date with the canon. In the 80s, I knew my comics by the time I was 9yo. At work these days, I photo for a fashion studio. Whenever we have kid's shoots, I totally discuss super heros and sci-fi with the 8-12 yo kids--they know their stuff. I hope you enjoy getting into the mythology of it all, btw--worthy of a doctoral thesis, imo. In the end, it just seems TLG is afraid to make a move. DC and Marvel have shown they are willing to license out to anyone, so I doubt they are tying the hands on any deal. There may be other contracts to consider, but there are plenty of characters I would bet don't fall under that category. Also, why doesn't TLG look to cater to AFOLs? They seem to with SW and that stuff sells. Why wouldn't they want to tap into the market further? Last point: Black Panther is a major player...so is Daredevil. I agree about the Punisher (even his name gives kids a bad lesson, imo), but there are many characters who might seem second tier to those who aren't in the know, but are, in fact, major players. TLG group should hire one of us nerds (sorry if 'nerd' offends...it's a badge I wear with honor) to let them know what's up. -

I don't get TLG's logic on this, unless there are legal ramifications I don't know about. Super heros have been selling as toys for many, many years. They are loved by kids and adults. Why doesn't lego put out sets with just minifigs? Why do they think they will sell better if based on a specific movie or cartoon, instead of the original source material? Why couldn't TLG make a 'classics' line, based on Silver Age-80s looks? I am probably missing something, but the super hero franchises are proven money makers...often by selling just the figures. Please edu-ma-cate me? And yeah, Dustbin...that would be very cool. -

I don't really care about $10 extra. I'm a 40yo professional with no kids. Sorry, but TRU has it's purpose, imo. The IM mask from the mansion, btw, seems to be the same from the Avengers line. I'd like them to change it up a bit. -

I bought the "mansion" at a TRU in Milwaukee, WI yesterday...the two smaller sets weren't there. The helicopter was every bit as 'meh' as I thought it would be, the mansion wall is nice, but wants to be three times larger and Mandarin is actually cooler than I thought he'd be, but I still think the rasta beard looks dumb. All the other minifigs were really nice. -
Lol, you knew I freak out over this...my wife even thought your Galactus was amazing and she is can barely stand this stuff!! Seriously, ReZourceman--top notch
-
Nah, Deathlok still has some hair..sort of macabre, lol: http://www.chernobog...athlok/1974.htm @ReZourceman: Blastaar, Ka-Zar and Annihilus are rocking...the others are too, but those three really make me want to hit up B'link. I ordered that gold nozzle last week, btw; great choice, imo. Can't wait to see what this 'big' thing is... I've got some new stuff to photo, I'll try and get to them today or tomorrow...busy weekend, here.

Oooo, I have an extra of those from a B'link order I got in, the other day...great idea, thanks.

I'd like all those, Daniel! I have to agree with you about the Iron Patriot, too. I'm an older comic fan, so I didn't know much about the character. After a little reading up and seeing the many images of him floating around the IM3 trailers, it's hard to believe we won't be getting one. -
Sexism can be funny when no one gets hurt...people are too uptight, imo. In no way did I take this as mean-spirited or negative. Great MOC and very funny...thanks for sharing!

Yeah, I've redone my Steve Rogers quite a bit. I got five B'link packages yesterday, so a bunch of my minifigs have gotten upgrades. Rogers got some plain, tan pants and a new face--it was the lines under the eyes that was bothering me. Also, Bad Barda got her new hair and she now towers over her man. The Shadow got put into the JL pic, just because his title was a DC comic...but a Batman-Shadow tie-in story could be quite fun!

I've been hearing this and I hope you are right. I've always thought the boat looked alright. It's just that it's...a boat...not a seaport, lol. That buggy, however, I can't imagine being cool, no matter what angle. Still, I hope to be standing corrected, soon. -

Thank you, Daniel...I may not agree with many of your reasons, but at least you gave some reasons. I still can't help but feel that we are all just psyched to get super hero sets so we will like anything (even though I admit to not liking them, I'm still buying, lol). The mansion wall is cool, no doubt, but none of those vehicles have anything to do with Marvel, which I stand by as what should be the most important aspect of a set--that the builds reflect the license and/or universe it is set in. I dunno, I just TLG could've tried a little harder with these...and I'd like them to know it. ;) I think some folks agree with me... -
Ahhh!!! This is awesome...I can't wait to see more! Also, I'd argue that B:tAS was as good as any comic or movie rendition of Batman, putting it up there with the very best we have ever seen of the Dark Knight.

But...WHY?!?!? What are you excited about? I'm just not getting it and no one will explain!!! Seriously folks, please help. I'll be spending my money on these, both as a collector and for the minifigs...but at this point, I won't be feeling very good about it. Please help me not feel like I am throwing money at TLG for the wrong reasons. I am as happy as the next guy to be getting new super hero stuff...I just wanted it to be good!! I'll admit, the mansion wall is kind of neato, and I'll probably add-on to it myself, as will many of you. But what else is there to like, build-wise, from these sets? -
I don't know about any official word, but I don't get the 'made for kids' thing. I liked bases, scenery and forts when I was kid. In fact, I pretty much have the same thought process as when I was 5yo (I'm almost 40 now) and when is LEGO so difficult, a kid can't put it together? I just think they cheesed out on the super hero theme. It's like they knew we would all buy them for minifigs...and they are probably right.

Dang it...I have a shoot next week in Chicago. By then, I am sure these will have been pulled. Luckily, aside from the minifigs, I find the whole line underwhelming. I can wait for underwhelming. -

Ok, I am not trying to be controversial or start an e-arguement...I am actually very curious: Whenever I see someone come to these forums to praise these sets, they just say something like, "Wow, awesome sets! I can't wait to buy them!!", whereas the critiques often give a reason for the discontent, such as, "That vehicle looks lame" or "I wish there was some scenery". I guess I am just wondering what it is that those who like these sets actually like? Aside from the minifigs, I just don't see what anyone could find 'cool' about these. Refer to the new Lone Ranger stuff for what I consider to be a good release. I don't even really like Lone Ranger, but those sets seem way more steeped in their particular license. -
@Spider-Robin: Welcome! That is a really cool Scarecrow you have there and I like the scenery you photo'd your minifigs on. Nice job. @autorazr: Very nice, all around. Like Dustbin mentioned, neat gun. I really like the hair you used on Cable (been struggling with that, myself), I dig the lighter color scheme on your Deathlok and I am making a Wong pronto. Thanks for sharing. @Spider-Man: Poor ole Reilly got stuck in the bad guy photo because in my set-up, he always goes inside the chamber in Doc Ock's set (an extra Spidey goes on the table for some DNA swapping fun). I forgot to photo him with the Spidey friends, so he went with Kingpin's crew. Then, I did a quick, head count and didn't even remember or realize he was in there.

Wat?!? Everytime I think I've seen them all, ReZourceman pulls out stuff like Silver Samurai and Spiral. Serious props to those minifigs. What armor is on Spiral? Jeez, I was all chuffed to post up some group photos, but man...that Spiral! Tough act to follow. Anyway, these include plenty of WIP, some new stuff and some, at this point, custom stuff. I always post them up purist, but these group photos show what else I've been doing... Let's start Marvel...X-people, Brotherhood, etc.: Avengers, assemble!!! Sorry...had to. Masters of Evil...and friends: Spiderman and his amazing friends: Sinister Fourteen: Adventures in space!! On to DC...In the Batcave: Justice League...and "friends": Gotham PD: Rogue's gallery: Greetings from Fourth World...hope you live!

You really do give great critique, oo7. Thank you! It really helps. To answer your specific queries and suggestions: Rogers looks a little less 'worried', when I slightly raise his hair piece, showing more eyebrow. Banner's shirt is totally getting replaced with an Indy shirt I have coming from B'link. Speaking of, the other head for Granny is an Aunt May head, but the more I think about it, I'd rather go with the menacing grin I have on her now. I forgot to remove the cowl on Miracle's cape for the pic, as it is custom--I cut it down. I've since 'trained' it to stand up better. I also have that Luke head coming, so we'll see how that looks. @ReZourceman: I love them. Silver Samurai is so cool (those CMF knight legs are super versatile--I've used them on three minifigs already), and the Power Pack is a great addition too. I'll probably be stealing these into my own collection, at some point...big surprise. Speaking of stealing ideas: Madame Web (had to have one too, but I might remake the chair to look less like a mini-swampboat) and Blade (if anyone could suggest a better hairpiece...): Deathlok (now with hair...still need a new rubberband to get back to purist) and Ant-Man: Aaaand, Mr Hyde and Ultron .005 (Proto-Ultron? Lol, he is sort of clunky): That's all, for now!

As much as I would like to satisfy my curiosity with some pics, there is a small part of me that hopes they can keep it under wraps until the last minute...I like the anticipation, and any spoilers I can avoid, even better (for instance, I had no clue Pepper would be jumping into an IM suit, until the pics of Malibu Mansion came out). -
Thanks! I don't know what set it is from, but here is the part # from B'link: 3626bpb036

I thought the same way, until I actually built the Quinjet. Easily, the best build in the Marvel line, imo. I ended up making my own BW though, based more on the comics, as I am in the group that really didn't like her movie version. -
So here is a latest batch...a lot of WIP here, and looking for some advice. Thanks for looking! Some civvies...Steve Rogers, Peter Parker (Mutt with a camera, lol), Bruce Banner: Clark Kent and Guy Gardner: Forge and Deathlok (D'lock needs a new rubberband to be purist...found this one at work, lol and it doesn't really fit well): Silver...erm...Grey Surfer: Back to the Fourth World, Oberon and Granny Goodness (I also have a suit version of Oberon and what might be a better head on the way for Granny: And now, if you guys could give me your opinion of what head works best for my Mr Miracle: First try: Second try: Third try: Well, that's all, for now. I did just get two more B'link orders in, so hopefully I'll get a few more done, this weekend.
