    BNSF Dash 9

L-O-V-E-L-Y! *wub* Too bad it's only virtual, but it's finally something other than SW and Vikings :oD
  3. It would exist but it would be titled "What if Qui Gon had died in The Phantom Menace?"

    Hi!

That's the best explanation I've read. You should forward this to TLG...
  5. Looks like I'm too much of a computer illiterate to use it, I can't even put two bricks next to each other :'( I think I'll pass...
  6. You're correct in that assumption.
  7. That must be an australian "term"... The guy who built it and uploaded the images to his gallery?

    Custom Track

Has anybody here already made their own custom track? Any success? Is it as difficult as it looks (especially switches/points)? I will need some but haven't gotten around to yet it since it doesn't look too easy. I've seen instructions on the net but I'm simply "scared" to ruin my precious switches/points :'( Today I found this! Sounds fair and would save me lotsa work *satis*
  9. Of course. As much as many at TLG don't want to hear it, the 1980s were LEGO's "Golden Age"... It's missing a bit of "the old charm" (I don't like the black walls) but I guess you could call it "Castle". The minifigs are similar to the classic knights. So, yeah, I guess that one's "Castle". And before you rummage around for similar sets - it looks to me that after 6090 is from where it went downhill with "Castle". But that's only my $0.02...
  10. That is "Castle"! Pic1 Pic2 Pic3 "Back then" the knights all were happy folks and smiling. After they banged their heads in a battle they got together afterwards and had a few kegs of beer - those were the days... Too bad kids today don't recognize the playability of sets like that. Everything has to be "fast" and "cool" |-/ My knights even went to battle by train - I just didn't care about historic relevance, the themes fit together and that was the fun in playing with LEGO... but I'm digressing... PS: I know I could have linked to PICSL or any other instructions site and everybody knows the classic castle sets anyways, but I "stumbled" upon those while doing my daily "brickshelf-roam" and thought they would emphasize my $0.02...
  11. Of course I can.
  12. Teasing you? To me "Castle" is "Classic Castle". That weird line that's been going since the mid-1990s is not "Castle".
  13. Over the Yellow Castle?!?!?!? OUTRAGE! SACRILEGE! BLASPHEMY!
  14. Gallery Unfortunately he uploaded pretty big pics *wacko*
  15. Both systems will co-exist (tracks are compatible). The new system is supposed to lure new customers to the train system.
  16. I personally wouldn't do this but it sure looks cool ;)
  17. Well, doesn't look too bad. Thx for the links!
  18. *sigh* those were the days... 1979 1980
  19. That'd be interesting... there are some managers/CEOs I'd like to tell straight to their faces how useless and plain dumb they are... it won't change anything, either, but it sure would feel good! Sorry, had a bad day at the office, just needed some venting ;) @jipay: that was an even shorter "summary" than mine- but IMHO right on the money (no pun intended) ;) In general: I'd be happy if the prices were the same "unit-wise", e.g. USD 39.99 = EUR 39.99...
  20. I'm sure that the factors TLG takes into account when pricing products are there. But why do I - as a customer - have to care about that? I go into a store and see the price of a product. If it's ok - I buy, if it's not OK - I walk. It's that simple. I don't care what a company has to consider to decide on a price, I'm not employed there, it's not my job. I just care about whether I'm willing to pay the(ir) price. Again, veeery simple. I, as many others, compare prices (nowadays you almost have to). Usually I just compare stores and look for sales. But with the world becoming "smaller" due to internet and stuff it is possible to compare countries now. And if I see the same product cheaper somewhere else and have the possibility to buy it there - why shouldn't I? As I said, all I care about is the price. Period. Isn't that simple? What does TLG have their managers for? Isn't it their job to find a solution instead of "explaining" things no "simple customer" understands anyways?
  21. China's always good for exciting news...
  22. Jake's thoughts on the "influence" of the LEGO (Train) Factory concept on the 9V Hobby Train System...
  23. Now that's what I call a Dump Truck! Some nice models this guy has built :oo
