  1. In case somebody's interested: here's why there's two lines...
  2. In a positive way, though. Read here. Link from Jake's Blog.
  3. Ah, I haven't noticed - thx ;) What helmet? That's my spare brain
  4. Who? Me? ;) If it had been the poster only I wouldn't have been sure cos Kirk Douglas also starred in "Spartacus", another ancient themed movie. But since it's Viking Month that wouldn't have been "apropriate". And then I saw his "injured" eye which he didn't have in "Spartacus", either. So it had to be "The Vikings" :)
  5. "I can see you're a man with excellent taste. I have here this Dwarf2000 double-bladed axe which I could sell you for a great deal. It comes with a scythestone and 2 bottles of a special mix of scythefluid. --- I see you hestitate... And you're right. Here, wait, you know what? If you agree right away I'll throw in 2 extra bottles and a second stone. How's that for a deal?"
  6. I just got the LEGO newsletter announcing the new Technic models in Austria/Europe. And what did I see? The 8421 Technic Crane is USD 149.99 and EUR 134.99, respectively. The 8420 Street Bike is USD 49.99 and EUR 40.99, respectively. Only the 8416 Forklift at EUR 72.49 compared to USD 69.99 is "higher priced". The EUR-prices don't reflect the exchange rates exactly (but you can't expect that really) but it's the first time (in the more adult "themes" at least, I dunno anything about Duplo and the like) that I see pricing like that... and I like it ;)
  7. 13th Warrior, Antonia Banderas The Vikings, Kirk Douglas
  8. 'llo! Psst! They don't like it when you say "LEGOs"... ;)
  9. Not many pics but a nice little MOC, i think: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=145005
  10. Hmm... right, I guess catapults did play a very determining role in my vote for Trains... I can't remember it but I guess it was subconscious...
  11. They're called "planks". And you walk them. At the "tip" gravity and weight act together and create a catapult-like effect. Very effective on the open sea. And not complicated to build, either...
  12. To sell: when there are no holidays (everybody's home, more potential buyers). To buy: when there are holidays (nobody's home, no "competition").
  13. "Another eBayer that walked the plank with style! Superb transaction!AAAAA+++++++" Your profile is quite entertaining, especially that feedback from August 26th...
  14. How do you know?
  15. Second hand. It just seems like it. Then it's from a garage sale... You know that from where? This is really bothering you, isn't it?
  16. What is it you don't understand? Since TLC alone is entitled to produce LEGO it can only be second-hand stuff those "stores" are selling. And that you get at flea markets, ebay, bricklink. Or you happen to stumble upon a sale and buy 20 new copies of one set (once you re-sell it it's technically second hand, even if unused). Or you intercept the mail-man before he delivers the birthday gifts for your neighbor's kids. Or Santa... Or the Easter Bunny...
  17. All of that plus ebay and bricklink... I don't know that but it's a conclusion I draw from having seen ppl buying tons of stuff on ebay and then finding their stores on bricklink...
  18. How long is this "Viking Week" gonna go on anyways (is it on already?)? I'm just curious cos that helmet and axe are kinda getting heavy here...
  19. Does turning a SES into a ship-wreck count as a MOC? I haven't "done" it yet but I've decided that that's the way I will integrate my SES into my town/train-layout. It'll act as some famous sunken ship and divers and submarines will swarm around it and search for a treasure or something...
  20. No problem. Just wanted to check if probably I was the one having problems ;)
  21. Is it just me or did the forum "crash" a few times lately
  22. They said it's "a system in progress". Let's hope they mean it and do something good with it...
  23. With the way the system works at the moment: I don't think so. Right now I wouldn't even buy my own model. I can get the "real" 4886 my model's based on a lot cheaper and I have 667 pieces plus a few from my own collection I can work with. Available pieces have to increase very much for the system to be interesting - it's just designer sets so far. But you can get those a lot cheaper, download the model into your LDD and mix it with your own pieces (which most of the factory users have) and build the model or a similar one on your own. I don't think having a box with a picture of your model on it is that big an incentive to pay the current prices. I agree with the guy who posted at LEGOFan.org: I'd like to see what's in the bags and maybe re-design my model and make use of as many pieces as possible while designing it. Then maybe I'd consider actually buying from the factory...
  24. Good question. There's a "vote" button but it doesn't really explain anywhere how the system works... As for the parts: I found this thread at LEGOFan.org...
