  1. Ah, very good! Easier to get to than Billund and pre-season for cheaper flights. Should work out this time :)

    Mine's spelled wrong... ;)
  3. HEY! Who let that guy in my basement?!
  4. I do agree with Norro and SuvieD, I really don't care about the post count, either. But I think some sort of grouping system isn't that bad. I just think the "markers" don't have to be that big. And maybe one shield is enough. It could change colors, too, for example. The point system seems like a good idea, although maybe really difficult to implement. All in all I do feel "home" here. Keep it up :)
  5. I think they're too big. I like 'em but even on my 1600x1200 resolution they're big. IMHO the focus should be on the post not the avatars and their description. Other than that the changes so far are ok :)
  6. Uh... they're still there, in the forum in the *cough* "Fundsache" thread *COUGH*, where they've always been... *lookingaroundnervously* I didn't say that...
  7. I rather see it as a "math problem". You need some basic mathematical skills to play/build with LEGO, so we're back on topic... roughly...
  8. Austria only has had 1 page for quite some time not so long ago. It's very rare there's that much on sale. But as usual there's nothing for me there... :/
  9. Dunno if this is old or not: Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed." "OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!" His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands. Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How much is a brazillion?"
  10. 'lo :) Mmmmm... a classic... speaking of digressing...
  11. OK, first it has to confirmed, that showing them indeed is illegal. I don't know about that. Maybe it is. Just saying "We don't want them in public" doesn't make it illegal to make them public. Then, if it is illegal indeed, discussing them wouldn't be illegal, but showing them here again (as attached images) and linking to them could be seen as complicity - which would be a legal issue, of course... But that's not my business - I already have them on my computer *satis*
  12. Thank you! I started feeling alone liking the airport theme when I read the "big news - no caps" thread *satis*
  13. Why does everybody think the planes are a one-piece design? They clearly use the windows used in planes and ships before and I don't think the hull is made of one piece. It sure is made of big pieces, yes, but so are the ship hulls and no one's complaining there. Had they done it with bricks and plates only you'd have a piece-count of 2000+ and a price accordingly. Then everybody would complain... Sure, overall TLG didn't really go back to basics but I think the sets look appealing to kids nowadays confronted with flashy video games and movies. So, I think they're doing a better job adapting the LEGO brick and design to "modern times" than in the past. Yes, the City sets don't have those MOCing possibilities anymore as they did way back when, but I think that "task" has been moved to creator and designer sets. Which, I think, have plenty of MOCs in them. Just my $0.02. And I still like the planes...
  14. OK, this seems to be the original thread so I post my stuff from the City set-thread here: Hospital: Um... that's a hospital?! Looks more like a red-cross... uh, blue-cross version of the Coast Watch HQ. And, come on, stairs to the entrance?! Not very handicap-friendly. Disappointment. Ambulance: Nice city set. Nothing terrificly new but it fits with the new police and fire sets which is more important IMHO. Medic's Car: It has doors - yay! I miss the doors on the new cars. More of those for the entire city! Rescue Chopper: Looks nice. Needs some adjustments here and there but a good successor to 7044. If you mix both it could be a pretty decent chopper. Airport: WHOA! Gimmegimmegimme! Cool! Cooler! Coolest! More coolest! Most coolest! No, seriously, pretty cool. Passenger Plane: WHOA2! Finally a really good looking plane. I find it pretty hard to build a decent looking plane with basic bricks and plates. And most of the times you sacrifice the space for the minifigs. So, specialized parts are ok if the result is good (and compared to the dump truck it is). It's pretty big, though. I saw the new duplo plane the other day which is 50x50cm, also - that's quite some space it consumes... Airport Mechanic: Nice little minifig set. Again, more of those for the entire city, please! Airport Fire Engine: Looooooooooooovely! Looks like the "real thing", good choice of colors. Except for the much anticipated hospital 2006 seems to be another year to look forward to :) I just hope the new train keeps the momentum up...
  15. I saw an R/C-Train from playmobil in a store the other day. Is that what the new LEGO train's supposed to work like? If so, I just hope the remote control isn't IR since IR has been mentioned in this context. I don't want to run around pointing at the locomotive all the time and when it goes thru a tunnel it's stuck...
  16. Edit: OK, I just found the other thread where the sets are being discussed. Will post there...
  17. ok *satis*
  18. [ ] You understood my post. [x] You didn't understand my post. I did that on purpose. Why start a new thread if there is one already...
  19. I received my TTX today and just finished building it. Since there have been reviews already in the net I won't add another one (too lazy anyways). So just my $0.02: When I saw the first pix a half year ago I liked it from the beginning and was sure to get me one (and a few more). I thought it was/is really cool looking. All the more I was surprised at how "plain" a model it is. And I don't mean this negatively. From the looks of it I somehow expected a few nifty building techniques but the model is as straight forward as it could be: brick on top of brick, a few plates, tiles and panels, and you're done. Nothing spectacular, a quick build, but a great looking model. The thing that bugged me in the beginning were the containers. I own 6541 and 6542 as well as 1831 which come with nice looking containers. But once I had finished the TTX-containers and applied the stickers they looked really nice - and, most importantly, they fit the model better than the containers from the 90s. And you just need basic bricks to build 2 million on your own. OK, they're not very realistic, but hasn't LEGO been about imagination all the way? I've read numerous discussions on other boards (mostly the "big one") about not realistic enough looking models of late. I found them kinda ridiculous. With this model LEGO proved that with a few basic bricks, some plates, and imagination you can build pretty good stuff. Way to go, TLG *y*
  20. "OK, tell me again why I agreed to participate in this contest-thingy?!"
  21. And here's some more :)
  22. I would come since Windsor is easier to get to than Billund. "Unfortunately" I'll start my second week in Mauritius on that weekend :P
