It's not just you... I don't mind 6wide but 8wide's gonna be too big for my layout... and again the truck has no doors, why are they doing this??? Note to self: need house...

You can't compare that cos you don't know how much you'd have spent. I spent more during my non-smoking days than during my smoking days. That was because I had to made up for smoking by other means (mostly sweets). It's difficult to compare.

Just to clarify: I just wanted to share my joy of getting a present from my g/f for something I did. If somebody wants to comment on that I'll gladly answer. Anything else I'll ignore, but you guys can go ahead...

Uh, aren't you a little off-topic now? I won't go into comparing apples and oranges... LOL That last statement just made me crack up. You saying you'd suck an exhaust pipe?! Right, just every time you're near a car. Sure, and they're so powerful they're also the reason the ozone layer has a "hole"... Where's the problem then? Start smoking... It isn't, the arguments used are those of a first grader... I know. Uh, you remember I mentioned I quit, right?
-
*yawn* those arguments are so old I can't hear them anymore. Thus I won't argue, which wouldn't help anyways since you're intolerant...

Because I was a smoker once and I know how it is. I smoked a pack a day, some just out of habit but most of 'em were addiction. I know it can be like a disease. Maybe because I don't mind walking through a cloud of tobacco smoke (;)), maybe because as a smoker I wasn't militant and respected other's privacy, but I know that smoking can be seen as sort of an invasion of others' privacy. But it can also be seen as an invasion of privacy if you "attack" a smoker when he smokes, especially in a place where it's not prohibited. I'm sure most smokers know how health-damaging smoking can[1] be, so leave it to them. As for the perfume: Oh man, tell me about it... [1] I know smokers who are in a lot better shape than non-smokers...
-
Hehe, ok, I wasn't referring to the chicken-or-egg question, so let me rephrase: I meant that smoking has been accepted a long time ago... Now, how often does that happen? Walk across the street behind a truck and you smell worse and inhale a lot more hazardous stuff than from a cloud of tobacco smoke...

Luckily I have relatives in the States ;)

Barely gone from S@H "Europe" it shows up on eBay: Auction 1 Auction 2 ("Buy now") Those two ain't even the 2004 edition :| For those who have connections to the US it's still available at S@H there.

In last year's catalog Vikings were only mentioned as "Coming this fall...", no set pics, no nothing. This could be true for the train this year...

Being a militant non-smoker IMHO is as intolerant as being a smoker. I know how it is when you're addicted and thus am not that harsh against smokers (and I mean addicts, not spare time smokers). Smoking is common here in Austria, so if I go to a bar or something I know that my clothes will smell. That's just how our society here "works". But non-smokers have demanded more anti-smoking laws lately... On the other hand I respected the non-smoking society when I visited the US for example. I know they are pretty strict over there so I acted accordingly. No problem for me. And just to be clear: prohibiting smoking "on the street" (meaning outside of buildings, which some people demand) is ridiculous! You inhale so much fumes (cars, factories etc.), smokers' smoke just makes up a tiny percentage of that. "The public" is there for everybody and doesn't belong to anybody special. And if you study ancient traditions (Indians, Actec, Asians, Africans, anywhere you want) - they all smoked, so one could argue that smokers where here first...

I just read that the first two years are the easiest (!), after that it's easier to "fall back" again. Figures, since I've started again after one and a half years twice. Point being, if you get a Death Star after one year what will you be getting after ten? :oD ;)

Well, since you asked: I've played baseball, ice hockey, squash and occasionally went jogging while I was still smoking, no problem at all. Actually, I'm doing less sports since I quit, and sometimes I wish for a smoke (especially when I'm having a coffee). I gained weight, too, all within the first weeks of quitting, because I substituted my addiction with sweets. That's gone now, but due to less activities I'm having trouble getting rid of it. Hockey would be perfect over the winter but I can't play anymore cos I ruined my back. I will start playing baseball again, though, that always helped me stay fit. Will let you know how I'll do ;)

... at around 1 pm I quit smoking (and haven't started again since). So my girl-friend decided to give me a 7243 Construction Site set as an anniversary gift *wub* I saw it on sale at a local Woolworth the other day and mentioned something about probably buying myself a christmas gift. And here I am building it. And I have to admit it isn't that bad, has some nice little details... :)

Not the red and the green one, they're blinking. A plane definitely has those (right and left or vice versa). As for a chopper I dunno...

I'd be happy for years if I could MOC up something like that...
-
That's correct, the Maersk ship is sold out in Austria ;) (and I missed it again... |-/ )

Yep, that's the buggy. The set looks cool, looking forward to setting it up :)

U-hu. In Austria (and maybe all Europe) the "Transportation" is there but empty. And instead of Exo-Force there's "Castle"...
