  1. What I don't get is: why do you trace the sails on white paper first and then on the cloth? Why not trace it onto the cloth right away? Or am I missing something? Nice tutorial none the less :)
  2. I second that (except for the NC part, I never lived there ;)). Excellent you lucky Beeeeeeeeeeep :D :P I can't second that, CA wouldn't be my first choice of residence (no offense ;))...
  3. 1. A person who held land from a feudal lord and received protection in return for homage and allegiance. 2. A bondman; a slave. 3. A subordinate or dependent. Middle English, from Old French, from Vulgar Latin *vassallus, from *vassus, of Celtic origin. See upo in Indo-European Roots. Source
  4. One shouldn't be premature, I guess. Turns out my schedule does allow me to go to Windsor. It actually allows me to stay in England that entire week and have Windsor be the conclusion to a trip of great sightseeing and bad food :-D So, please add me (+1) to your list again. In bold. And sorry for the indecisiveness :$
  5. I just found out and wanted to correct myself. But you can't beat a true pirate to it, now, can you? ;) It is a jib, a fore-sail to be precise. It's attached to the stay and doesn't overlap the mast, whereas the genoa does... man, i should go sailing again, I'm rusty...
  6. Actually, that's the genoa. A spinnaker is "ahead" of the boat when sailing before the wind. Genoa vs Spinnaker
  7. Nothing - the picture looks like it's megablocks...
  8. Finally a shop with fair prices :) The collection is pretty solid for someone who just started. I can only speak for myself, but I look for single bricks as well as for sets. Being a town fan I like your collection of sets so far ;) I guess a good mix of single bricks/pieces and sets will sell well. As long as your prices stay fair. I know you want to make profit, but if you're prices are too high you won't sell anything or pretty little. If your prices are fair (as they are now from what I can see) you'll sell more and might have people asking for more. In the end you make more profit. I don't know your financial background, I just hope you can afford to "wait" a little until it really starts off. Good luck :)
  9. Is it just me..? I recently got the catalog and the more I browse through it the more I don't like the new police boat and the truck with the bridge. They look so megablock-ish. Maybe it's just the way they're photographed but that page in the catalog looks out of place...
  10. An ICE would be very nice - but what do I do with my white-green train then which "acts" as an ICE now? ;)
  11. Oh, there's no doubt about that. If it looks anything like Vikings I don't. If it looks anything like Classic Pirates I do.
  12. I just got the catalog at a local TRU today and noticed something else: prices will go up. At least in Germany and Austria. I noticed the price of 7249 XXL crane in the catalog is EUR 56.99 compared to EUR 51.99 for all of 2005. Austrian TRU most of the time was a good deal for me because they sold LEGO at German prices. And those are about 4 % less than Austrian prices due to the German VAT which is lower than Austria's. Why TRU could do that I dunno. The XXL crane was EUR 49.99 at local TRUs... The TRU store I visited today seemed to have adopted to the new prices already: 7240 Fire Station was listed at EUR 39.99 compared to EUR 34.99 for all of 2005 and EUR 36.49 at S@H, 7248 Digger was listet at EUR 18.99 compared to EUR 16.99 for all of 2005 and EUR 17.49 at S@H. This goes only for a few sets, still it's a trend I don't like at all... :/
  13. See here :)
  14. Now that's what I call teasers... I hate 'em ;)
  15. hihi, funny :-D
  16. Tough call between Eldorado and Fort Legoredo. I went with Eldorado in the end. But my all time favorites are the first two grey castles: Knight's Castle and most of all King's Castle. Unfortunately I never got the latter. Black Falcon's Legend is nice but those two win over any castle. Then again, I'm old and reminisce a lot...
  17. For future reference: FXConverter xe.com They're quite accurate and convert everything to anything...
  18. I'm not a Ferrari fan, though I think I could get to like the new F1 and the Enzo 1:10, but the 430 Spider 1:17 with its stickers looks horrible... even more horrible than the Enzo 1:17 already does...
  19. That's supposed to be a bridge. It's not a car carrier truck...
  20. Do you have a SCSI-Adapter card with an ISA-Interface??? :oo That'd be pretty old. But there are quite affordable PCI-SCSI-Adapters from Adaptec out there ;)
  21. Found some scans: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=158788 Nothing all too excitingly new, seems to be just part of the catalog.
  22. I did. Because I think Pirates and Vikings at the same time wouldn't be good for either theme. But thanks for your compliments.
  23. Oh, you're one of "those" why I didn't get one anymore...
  24. :( First half next year is going to be too busy. As it looks now I won't have the time (and money) in April or May. That could change but I won't know that before shortly before the event. So I rather cancel now and show up uninvited (;)) than cancel 2 days before the event...
  25. Funny, I saw that train yesterday at eBay when I looked around after checking on that giant republic cruiser ;) The engine is not really to my taste (too colorful) since I'm not really a steam fan but I like the two waggons at the end of the train, especially the caboose.
