  1. Agreed. It's a lot smaller and with less bricks it's harder to build details. So, although my jaws dropped three floors the first time I saw the dome, the more I'm intrigued by smaller models now. Looking at the gallery of the first church again it looks a lot like a version of Notre Dame...

Oh man, I'm gettin' old... haven't read it that way ;) My apologies to Kikuichimonji...
  3. I have to cancel. Nothing to do with the date, I would've canceled the May date, too. Sorry...

    new crane

I agree with you on the bridge, but where is the crane <insert that tiresome argument>? Don't forget it's not a Technic model. As such it uses lots of Technic elements, so I'd say it's the opposite of <insert that tiresome argument>...
  5. Yep, that's a nice model. I'm always amazed by how detailed some people can model. If you want to see another big church take a look at the model of the K
  6. Cos it's two themes merged into one (Vikings and Town). I wanted fans of both themes to see it. And since not everyone checks every forum I posted it in the respective forums for everyone to see and here on "neutral ground" for everyone to discuss. I just can't close the other threads...
  7. Since this is a mix of two themes and to make sure enough people see it, here's the link to the actual thread. Please answer there :)

  9. They started the company pretty early: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=156043
  10. Because there's one "http://" too much. This'll do... this is why i hate people Meaning?
  11. What do you mean? Sarcasm...
  12. Was there anything new besides City???
  13. I just noticed why I like those sets so much. This shows it quite well: The sets were small, thus affordable, and they didn't take so much space. You could fit a building on the "9-stud-border" of the road plates and a bigger building on the borders of two adjacent roadplates and it didn't look all too crammed. Sure, the proportion/scale MF-buildings-cars was pretty unrealistic, but to me that was the charm of it :) I do like the new city sets, make no mistake, but they do need a lot of space - and I will have a problem with that :/
  14. Well, since I work in the IT business I'm glad when I don't sit in front of the computer at home too. And if I do I see that it doesn't take too long. So I miss some stuff...
  15. Or to read... Nope, I haven't. Sometime's it's just too many threads to catch up so I ignore some (most) of them...
  16. Umm... the auction ended some 13 hours ago ;) But he has some other interesting stuff: Auction 1 Auction 2

  18. Simple logic, old pirate: There was "Slogan A", now there is "Slogan B". This is fact. We also know that "Slogan A" was here before "Slogan B", so one had to "end" for the other to "start". Like in "1+1=2". Or, in other words, I just wanted my 555th post to be something excessively meaningful...
  19. Sometime in the past. After that.
  20. I still love 'em. Catalog pages like the following are still heaven to me: 1978 NL Page 8 and following (at least to page 14) *wub*
  21. Ha, I didn't even notice. Cool :) I'll go and reminisce for a while...
  22. Even if you put a smilie at the end of your comment - you're soooo right. Today it's more like "Just imagine... what this new <insert that tiresome argument> piece could be..."...
  23. The latter. Back then everything had to be built, even animals ;)
