Old Technic sets losing value?
CisFran replied to mobi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You've got very good deals on there! -
half of that was bought in BL for around $3.80 each The other half in S@H, my order managed to get through the cracks...Cost around $2.50 each

Finished building my copy. I think this is the most complicated that I built so far and the best one.... Took me almost 10 hours on and off, and I think 25% of the time is finding the part. I didn't segregate it unlike my usual technic studless builds since this set have too many unique parts. I just dumped the parts and segregated it by color...

8288 Crawler Crane
CisFran replied to DarkShadow73's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I watched the bidding of this set just today and it went to around $200, used, with box and instructions.. Though I bought mine, mint, with instructions (no box), for only $65 Standing here beside 5571 -
I also got to buy this set a few weeks ago, without box but complete manuals. It's just dusty and needs some love. I got the set with the 6 metallic-silver wheels+4 grey wheels. I already dismantled the set and will wash it (save for the ones with stickers) before assembly. Also, the set I got was in mint condition, still have the complete stickers intact and was built once.

I recently bought a used Power Puller set for USD60, It's missing a few pins, the battery box, motor and the minifig but most of the major parts are intact (specially the big wheels!). I put a medium motor, receiver and current battery box (fixed on the chassis), so that I can watch it move. It's not that fast though but I enjoyed building it! (I didn't install the chains since it is messing up the rotation of the engine and stuck up)

someone posted (in swiss bidding site) a used 5571 set, complete with box and manuals for USD193 (starting price).. http://www.ricardo.ch/kaufen/spielzeug-und-basteln/lego/lego-system/schnaeppchen-fuer-1-tag-modell-team-black-cat-n0-5571/v/an710126986/?ABTestedFeatureKey=59 I think it's kinda cheap if no one buy it for that price considering the rocketing price in BL... though I already bought a complete set (minus the box) for USD140

Impossible LEGO
CisFran replied to Boxerlego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You can use a tweezer if that happens -
Nice bargain you have there..I also wanting to buy that set, I had a chance, actually two, in buying that 8448 in swiss ebay but a certain guy is always outbidding me.. I got instead a complete 8466 for $50

There's a bricklink seller from Texas, USA selling the 8461 Wheel/tire combo for $26 per set, so it will cost you $105 for the 4 pcs you need. Cheapest was $16 (or $64 for 4 pcs) from Germany. http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=49804&colorID=67 Good thing I purchased this same tire/wheel combo last week from a local seller for $20 (4 pcs)

well, talk about places (the ones who need were located in the US and Europe and the supplier is located Down under ) TasV, It was also my plan to leave the blue since the panels are already blue and just print whatever is left. Maybe you can try and if the price it right, maybe shipping stickers to the other side of the planet is not that expensive

Those shelves are too short. Much better to lengthen it to have more flexibility in displaying your Lego

Bent Technic Parts
CisFran replied to CisFran's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm still saving them as I cannot afford to throw away any lego piece. the axle can be cut to form a much shorter piece. for the 1x15 liftarm, I'll try to heat it with a hairdryer... I also have some lego parts which were kinda chewed on / have some bite marks but i still save them...You wont know when you will need them -
Bent Technic Parts
CisFran replied to CisFran's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes they are original parts, not knock-offs. I compared these to the other parts and they have the same quality..Just bent, maybe heavily played..
