  1. that's nice. but I'm sure it's pretty expensive for those yellow panels
  2. I built this tonight, it was fun! I also added antennas just for the fun of it!
  3. Sorry for being off-topic but just to answer your questions.. Yes it's brand new in the box units. A local swiss supermarket held a sale of their 2012 and older Technic and Star Wars sets for 50% off. Buy all you can for 8110, 9398, 9397 & 9396 ... Part of my haul yesterday and I'm still thinking of buying more
  4. Yup, and I'm keeping the motors, servo and receiver for the Unimog RC. BTW, also got the Unimog for the same price, EUR 80
  5. I just bought 2 sets of 9398 for EUR 80.00 each. I think that's enough set to build The Boss
  6. Thanks. I just finished building my regular 8043. I will enjoy it first then build the Ultimate in the next few months
  7. On your Ultimate 8043, did you encounter the same problems as the ones posted by sapo?
  8. Got another great deal today! A local shop is selling their toys for 50% off, including Lego Technic! So I grabbed these: 8110 Unimog - $109 each (I bought 2 sets) 9397 Logging truck - $77 each (I bought 2 sets) 9398 4X4 crawler - $109 each 9396 Helicopter - $55 I'm thinking of buying another Unimog and just put the 2 sets to sell later
  9. you can host the pictures in photobucket so that we can see them immediately
  10. You said it, I'm really stoked! I hardly got enough sleep last night. Just got the set this morning I will build the primary model first, then the truck...I will also try the other models when I have time
  11. Finally I got my new (to me) set today! Saw it posted from a local online selling forums. The seller was also a former AFOL, He bought it brandnew around US$250 back in year 2000, built it once and never touched it again. I got it for only $80!!!! Current selling price for the same set minus box and manuals and in fair condition is around $200. Really love good deals! This one is minty fresh complete with box, manuals & partially applied stickers. Now on with the pictures The tires Stickers and manuals
  12. Finally I got my set today! Saw it posted from a local online selling forums. The seller was also a former AFOL. He bought it brandnew around US$250 (Swiss prices are high, that explains the price) back in year 2000, built it once and never touched it again. I got it for only $80!!!! Minty fresh complete with box, manuals & partially applied stickers. Now on with the pictures Parts neatly packaged The tires Manuals and stickers
  13. For me I will surely buy 42008 and 42009. The 8258 is readily available at our local toy shop but it cost around US$275.00. Too stiff in my opinion
  14. mmmm, blockbuster thread! 58 user(s) are reading this topic 20 members, 38 guests, 0 anonymous users
  15. MISB 8421 cost around $600-$1k in Bricklink...for sure the price will go down. 42009 is much bigger and better, at much cheaper price!
  16. Just bought this set today EUR160 regular price. Got a discount coupon so I paid only EUR134
  17. I also bought the 42004 today just for the bucket for the ultimate 8043. while at it, I also grabbed the 42006
  18. that would be nice but if I factor the VAT, shipping fee and the bank transaction fee, it would be the same cost (lowest one) as the one here in Swiss
  19. Bought today 42006 & 42004 at a local department store (Manor). I was surprised that the price is not much different from the US. the 42006 costs me CHF79.90 (US$86.20 or EUR64.00). I was expecting around CHF100 for this set alone. For the 42004, I paid CHF26.90 (US$29.03 or EUR21.56). The Lego Swiss S@H is not yet selling these sets. Though Swiss S@H is selling the Unimog for CHF259.00 (US$279 or EUR208) which I find absurd . Manor is selling the same set for CHF249 or EUR200. I also found out that a different toy store is selling Unimog for CHF199, so I have an option
  20. Nice review! I'll be buying this set but I'm more inclined to build the B model
  21. If JCB model = 100%, the Ultimate will only be 60-70% of the standards on all that you listed above (or much lower I suppose). But that's just for me
  22. Me too, I am more excited on the 2H sets, MK II specially, FTW!
  23. thanks! so it must be the LA version the better of the two
  24. Hi DLuders, Sorry to ask an old question but what is the difference between the two RC modifications, #4 or #5? And which is the best between the two? thanks!
