  1. I have had similar thoughts earlier, but never did the calculations. Funny thing is: because it almost doesn't vary over the sets, it doesn't tell you anything. At least the price per part tells me that if it's low, there's a lot of tiny parts in it, and if it's high, I'm looking at a box with larger pieces. That's all how I use the price per part. Value of a set should in my opinion still be seen as a total price. If you're willing to pay the total for the set, great, if not, then price per part never convinces me to pay it anyway.
  2. I like the shapes of both, but (partly due to your inventory) there's too much color. If I may make some suggestions, for the diesel shunter I suggest to limit to 3 main colors: red, yellow and dark bluish grey. Therefor, I suggest to scale down in white accents, and replace the light bluish grey roof with dark bluish grey. You might also want to check if this diesel fits on lego track (it seems to be really low). I definitely like the model. Good luck.
  3. Very nice tunnel with lots of details. Well done! I especially like the climber.
  4. Just noticed today that the constitution train chase is on "sold out" on the Dutch lego.com site. Seems like this set had a very short lifespan.
  5. For me , it doesn't have to be completely new. Since I missed cafe corner (and many of you too), a revamped version of a cafe corner (or grocery store) would be perfectly good for me.
  6. I already won on day 4. Thanks for a great raffle, and a Merry Christmas to all of you. I just got my Christmas tree today, so I can start decorating ;-)
  7. Very nice and detailed. Too bad I can only see those pictures. I'd really like to see this in real-life. Such an amazing model.
  8. Thanks, I knew about the illegal/out of system usage. I also recognize too fragile/big/detailed. Since I design with LDD, I usually avoid the illegal stuff, but mine are also more fragile than official sets
  9. We mix usage. They know they can't disassemble any of my MOCs or other sets I value. Other than that, they can play with them.
  10. I like it. It's definitely something different.
  11. Thanks, I was able to catch the last 10 minutes of the broadcast. Can't wait to get this set myself.
  12. Thanks for the review. One of your remarks is that there's no black doorknob on the balcony door on the second floor. My guess is that it's intended to have one, since there are two black round 1x1 plates as left-over. Might just be a small error in the instructions.
  13. Can you elaborate on what techniques you're referring to that the lego police won't allow?
  14. You can simply extend a 24-stud baseplate with 2 2x6 plates on both sides.
  15. I liked this one so much that I made a MOC of it earlier this year: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=80499
  16. Cool. I just got creative and made this christmas snowball. It's only 26 pieces, so it should be light enough to hang in an actual tree.
  17. Marvellous front of that train. You've packed the details of an 8-wide train into 6-wide.
  18. Cool map. I live in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
  19. Very awesome. I only miss one major ingredient: track
  20. Very cool
  21. Fun project. I might wanna do this in the future as well. When I was a little boy, I could drool over the 7740 from the 7777 train book. I have that book, but never had the 7740. Good to see it come to life in your project.
  22. What about simply adding the red stripe as plates to the roof. Then you don't need to change a lot (optionally lower the rest by one plate). It would also strenghten the roof construction. Thanks for the source code, I'm not into Arduino yet, but this definitely looks quite simple to do. (Considering I do have a background in programming). I think I'll start diving into this when I have some time.
  23. Nice model. I do kinda miss the small red stripe at the top. I think it would liven up the color scheme. I love the arduino electronics you put it. Any more info available on that? (except for what you can find on the arduino site)
  24. Oh no, they would escape. Aaaaaaarrrrrgghh.....
  25. I have good experiences with electricity wire used in the wall for power outlets. Its available in all sorts of colors and can be easily bent in shape.
