Here's a picture of the solution: I used two of these: http://brigatti.nl/contents/nl/search.php?searchphrase=bh431a It's tight. When searching for these, it's important to make sure the height of these battery holders is at most 15.5 mm to be able to fit it into a 2 stud wide space. Most holders with a lid won't fit because of that. Length required: 14 studs.

I have the same issue with one of them. I ordered a replacement from the lego customer service (broken parts).

I'm guessing the new diesel will come with a blue battery cover.

Very nice. I love the inside corner approach, and I'd like to see this one in combination with other buildings if possible.

Actually, Lego could easily do this. All you need is one piece of flextrack in between the two shortened switches. More flextrack can be used to convert it back to the original switch.

Very nice again. Thanks for sharing. -
Sure, more details are available in the topic I referred to. I just updated the LDD files, which contain all the details. For other questions on my build, I suggest to use the other topic, I don't want to hijack Heppengs topic.

Here's an updated version of the LDD file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3664856/intermodal_ttx_7939_size_v4.lxf The only change with respect to the previous version is a change in the middle bogey, where I added an offset of a half stud to the rotation points to make it go smoother through the curves.

Thanks for sharing. I don't think the new trains are shown here, because the movie clip shows an 8-wide train.

Nice. I love those doublestacks as well. I build a TTX doublestack intermodal based on the original 10170 design in May last year: Allmost all pieces are easy to get, and some slightly more difficult, but never really expensive. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=82085

I just finished mine this morning. I picked up a box in the Lego store in Oberhausen yesterday, and started building when we got home. Nice techniques, I really liked the build. It's only my second modular, but more will follow. Looks really good next to the pet shop.

Of course. Thanks, I should have known.

Thanks for sharing this info. Can someone explain what a WV train station is? I'm clueless

Happy 2014 to everyone

Very nice layout, and nice to see the video. I have to admit that after 2 minutes, I skipped the rest, because I think those 2 minutes cover it. In real life though, I think you can watch a layout like that for hours. Nice work.

Fantastic job.

Nice work. I'm impressed with how you've been able to have it make the turns.

Thanks. It says "This app is incompatible with all of your devices." The UI does look easy and simple. At least I know what it looks like.
-
Thanks, but I can't find it. It's probably not suited for my device. Google app store filters apps out if they don't fit on the device.

I have a Samsung note 10.1, but I couldn't find any app. Too bad, because it has ir.
-
Which app is that?

Very nice build, and definitely recognizable. If you're looking for improvement suggestions, the only small thing I could come up with is to add a 2x2 round tile at the top of the pillars on the middle floor, where the real building has some decoration. I'd love to see the extensions, but its already very impressive as it is now.

Actually, if bluetooth would be introduced, it still wouldn't change the PF system. You could still use the same battery box, and the same motors. I would see bluetooth as a welcome extension, which could be used as an addition to the PF range of components. I would also hope that a bluetooth receiver could be stuffed in a 2x4 brick, which would be much easier to build into trains. A smaller battery box would also be very welcome, but that'll be tricky if they stick with the current types of batteries. More replacable covers (like in the 3677) would be great.

Fully automated container terminal + huge layout

Wow, this is so brilliant. The awesomeness of awesomeness. It the sort of thing I'd like to do, but never get around to doing. What a shame you have/had to break it all up again. I think you deserve a larger lego room.
