msx80 - thank you so much for creating this software! I just discovered it this morning and it's so easy to use, and my digital models look great already. I know there's a lot more to learn about how to use it beyond pressing the "render" button, but I'll get there in time. By the way - is there a way to make a really low-quality render to check colours, shadows, etc.? This sort of thing is useful in architectural software such as Revit and, while the wireframe render is useful to check the framing of the shot, it doesn't help with other things. Thanks again for Bluerender!

The Durham Cathedral scale model / fundraising effort is complete after three years of building. Visitors to the cathedral were allowed to pay 1 pound to place 1 piece in the model, which contains almost 300 thousand pieces. This picture comes from the Cathedral via the BBC news report: It looks like someone or several people went to lots of trouble to print patterns on tiles and bricks for (at least) the floor of the cathedral and some of the internal columns. Was anybody from Eurobricks involved in this project, be it designing the model, sourcing parts, designing custom print designs, etc? There doesn't seem to be any discussion about this project on the forum at all. Apologies if this is in the wrong subforum.

Thanks for the great review! A number of those little technical bits aren't at all apparent at first glance but thanks for showing a little of how all the curves are constructed. It looks a super set but I agree with the sentiment that it just doesn't entirely capture the essence of a Beetle. I don't think anybody has mentioned this yet but I find the two-piece construction of the bonnet, such that the bottom piece is just flat in profile (no curves like the other half) is off-putting. I may pick this up next time I go LEGO shopping... or I might just fill out more of my architecture collection instead.

It feels so grungy! Your custom labels fit the scene's atmosphere, and the little dark green lorry is super as well. Congratulations on your dedication to putting all those plates together!

The Fernsehturm is great, and the Brandenburg gate is OK as well. I'm not so impressed by the other models, though. The Deutsche Bahn tower is in person a nice building, but all shapes and texture get lost when it's built to such a small scale, and in black as well.

The update of the Empire State Building is fantastic! The other buildings are a little bit lacklustre.

Are the inverted 1x3 curved slopes relatively new parts? I think I prefer the old one; there's virtually no texture to this building.

The Exo Suit, which is listed as "Sold Out" on SAH, is currently available for 20% off at the Lego Store on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. In case anyone desperately needs to pick one up before they all disappear.

The are so many nice details in here - the zipline handle thingies, the Wolverine claws, the ingots as stonework. The building is so subdued but detailed; I love it!

This looks really good - the arches supporting the bay windows above the door are cleverly done. But I'm not sure the cone on top is built as solidly as possible, and I don't think the sand green colour complements the rest of the building.

Perhaps the tall statue is Siegessäule?

She's a beaut, again.

This sounds awesome, but Me too! My wifi is way too spotty to commit to playing a game with you all. -
Bob, you're right. I did try to be proactive to get someone to activate my trap, but to no avail.

This is a great scene but I think the simple texture of the rug catches my eye the most.

Give it a go! You'll worry that you are messing everything up the whole way, but it'll be fun for everyone! I'd really like to host again, but it's very impractical for the time being.

I'm astonished that we lynched a scum every day! Good luck to everyone else, who seemed to be doing much more than I was. Especially TPRU. I wish I had had the chance to use my PGO ability, but some things just aren't meant to be. I think this was my first Bob game? It was fun!

Looks cool! You've got the right sense of curved lines on the adobe building, and I like the ramps from the street to the jail cells. But what is the thing floating above white-suit-black-hat man's head? And the canopy above the jail feels a bit heavy.

Everything here looks great, especially the household roll and the oven. I like that you've stuck a forced-perspective building outside the window. It feels, perhaps, that the table and the items on it are a tad large, but they still work well.

Okay. I was interested in voting for Ann after Eugene told us he could win with us, so I'm happy to unvote him. I also think you shouldn't vote for me, so here we go! Last scum! Unvote: Eugene Bryant (Dannylonglegs) Vote: Ann Foster (StickFig)

I'm going to Vote: Eugene Bryant (Dannylonglegs) because he seems very confident he knows what the SK did or didn't do last night.

Great MOC! The church and the house with the exposed rafters are both excellent. Your concept of recreating several paintings in one scene is very creative.
