  1. Thank you guys :D it looks like my 6 months spent on creating all these are worth it :) Some may ask where the Batpod is, but I am still figuring out how to get the scale right, as the parts will be smaller than the Lego bricks if I insist on using the same scale. Just to add a little more information, I only order 4 bricks from the net to complete the sets, while I bought some from brick shops. Most of the bricks (nearly 95%) are from my own collections. Not that I have many bricks, but I think if you cannot get the bricks you want, you can always play around with other kinds to add interesting details. And thus the three tumblers are not identical except some important profile bricks. :D
  2. Yes indeed! I got this package from Brickarms and the Avengers will be replacing all the guns now! :) Thanks!
  3. Finally completed my whole series and now I can put them into the glass shelf for display :P As you may have seen in my another thread, the black tumbler was the first to complete, and then the Bat, the camo-tumbler and finally the snow tumbler. I was however not satisfied with the camo one, and so I dismantled it and rebuilt it after getting the tan bricks I wanted. I spent nearly a month to make the cannon rotatable! Here I want to show you what I have got as the complete set, and inspire more fans to make MOC Batman stuff. Alright, the family photo! Featuring the Bat! The Bat + Black Tumbler Tumbler Set: Camo-tumbler, Black Tumbler and Snow Tumbler Close-up of the final camo-tumbler, which is just finished during weekend. I thought the brown bricks would be better to match the tumbler in the movie, but the contrast is too high for me and so I use the dark tan color instead. You may still see a little brown in some hidden places. You may already know that this tumbler is not symmetrical. The right side is turned into a turret like a real tank (while the other one is turned into a SAM turret). The turret can turn to the back, completely in 180 degree. Here it is shooting the Bat sideways... Hope you enjoy the creations! Let me know how I can further improve them as I am still an amateur (haha, even after playing for so many years as I see real crazy experts here! So I am only an amateur!) Thanks! 4. Thanks :D I think it is easier for me to start from some original sets of Lego (like the transfer truck in 7733) so that the outcome is more realistic and believable. I have another idea which I may realize it soon, which will be part of the Avengers team to confront the supervillain Dr. Doom and Venom! Stay tuned!
  5. That's a good idea! Let me try later after gathering some grey bricks! ;)
  6. Thanks! :D I need to find a good example to build some kind of spike or chains around the tires... Anyone good Lego example?
  7. Thanks guys :D Glad that you all like it. I have been looking for white tyres too, but cannot find one from the Bricklink database. However, I guess the black tyres are not bad, which can highlight the moving mechanical parts of the tumbler :P I will need to add back some little weaponry there, like infra-red sensors and microwave cannon, to fight those Arctic villains!
  8. Obviously, the beautiful white Batman minifigure needs something more. The black Batboat from 76000 (which I "goldified" too) does not suit him. Well, his white equipment should start with... ...a Tumbler first! And yes, it comes in white too! The whole build is based on my previous black version, with some parts modified but they are just tiny details. I also have a snap of the interior... So there is a black Tumbler, and also a white Tumbler! I guess Mr. Freeze has to be very alerted again as this white Tumbler will camouflaged in the snowy landscape and hit him badly! I still think the black one looks more sleek. What do you think?
  9. Some of you may have seen my Avengers Truck, and so I will make a little post about this MOC which was made quite some time ago :) Seeing the whole set of Avengers vehicles from Lego having only a plane (Quinjet) and a jeep (and now Nick Fury's car which I turned it into dark blue color to join the original color scheme), I feel it needs something a little more solid to complete the line. So I had the idea of a mobile command center, a truck. And it is coming! The truck built is actually quite easy, borrowing all the techniques you may have seen in different "great vehicles" from Lego City line. The back is built like in 7733 set. You may notice that the built of the truck head is different because of the height of the doors. I took them from the original Avengers jeep, and so the doors cannot be fitted in under the windshield normally. I therefore reverse the construction to make it work. The tail is a little different. I feel that the back bumper area of many Lego trucks are not well done. After many experiments I came with this 7-stud wide approach, giving it more solid protection and a more sturdy feel to the truck. Inside we have a a little command center with computers, and a gun rack at the back. No idea why Tony Stark always occupies that space for his suit transfer, but that can be the second use of the truck. (note the foot stand for Iron Man, the pointed piece indicates Mark VI suit which has triangle core at the chest; the other one is for Mark VII) The gun rack can actually be taken out (a little different you see here from above because recently I modified it :) the picture above is more recent). One can change the rack for different arrangements and types of guns as long as the width and height is maintained to be kept in the truck. I also modified the jeep as you see, because the original is just harmless! Now, the firepower is back for the Avengers! Hope you guys like my set!
  10. No problem at all! I think I will start another thread to talk about that truck! :D
  11. I am just too bored I guess last night, and so I modified the nice Batboat from 76000...from yellow to gold! I am sorry about the visual, because I have no spotlight, while the gold bricks are not really gold and so you may not get the shiny feel. (the silver bricks are much better however in shininess). So you will have to "imagine" the golden shiny feel for the modified parts... Even the dish bombs are "goldified", and the two bombs at the back are also updated...now it looks less terrifying, but still deadly. Now I need a golden suit for Batman! :P
  12. Thanks! All you need is the jeep from Avengers, while the side board above the rear wheels will need something else, though I think you can redevelop the details using the spare bricks from the jeep. ;)
  13. This is more like a "mod" than MOC :) I have finally got the 76004 set with Nick Fury, Spider Man and Venom (I love Venom!), but the green car does not look right in my setup which contains the original Quinjet, original jeep and my MOC Avengers truck. So I just turned it back to the official blue color... And now everything is all good and ready for battle!
  14. "(2) "Wedge 3 x 4 x 2/3 Cutout" which can only be found in two sets; with this set being the only regular set where it can be found (the other is the 2012 Luke Skywalker's Chibi-Landspeeder ComiCon giveaway)" No. I think 60017 also has it on the sports car :) Great review! And I love this car too!
  15. I love the way you use the chair to make the car wheel cover! :D Wonderful details in other parts of the creation!
  16. Thanks MicroM, and the fine-tuning is still going on! XD The tumbler is also my MOC. I have seen many versions but I wanted to build one that fits into my city (the minifigure scale and modular-building scale, you know what I mean). I so made this, and you can find some details here. There are some details different from what you saw from above, since I had modified some parts and made it more "black" (change the remaining non-black bricks), but the overall should be the same. :) Thanks again :D Can't seem to see your image! :)
  17. As a Chinese (I am an architect from Hong Kong :D ) I can tell you it is not really Chinese. Not all sloped roofs with tiles mean Chinese architecture, as it is not a distinguishing feature. But talking back about this building, I so look forward to it. I LOVE the color scheme, as it looks very vintage yet a little modern (like the Grand Emporium, not too old yet it starts to be in the modern era). I also want to see what's inside. Will there be a stage or just a screen like real cinema? It would be even better to be a "theatre"! The car is however a little disappointment. I would imagine the white long limousine in the previous city set to be a more matching vehicle for this :P
  18. Thanks! I have edited the images and the post, and added the window-opening shot :) Glad that you guys like it!
  19. Hi everyone, I am new to this place and great to meet all of you. I am showing this latest creation of mine here, the Bat. Many fans already did their Lego version of the Bat, but I still think it is best to follow what the movie has made. So I bought the book and started to understand what the Bat is really about. It was indeed a very great book! Inside, I got the blueprint of the wonderfully designed plane! It took me nearly two months to start building the form and the put the pieces I wanted onto the structure. This is the first draft I made, though it didn't look too good to me. The right is of course the Tumbler. But I was happy to see the back design, which followed nearly all the parts from the blueprint. It did look like the real thing. Another overview... But I was not happy about it, and it took me another month to modify it. I actually dismantled the whole thing and rebuilt the structure, which I strived hard to follow the curve of the real plane in the movie. Here is the final version, and the side elevation to see the curve body (like a lobster!) It was a little bigger than the previous version, but I think it is still acceptable. The "hands" are also the difficult part, not to say two support rod things behind it which attach to the head of the plane. I keep most of the original design for the back, but add some details. Each part can be slightly adjusted to suit the flying mode. The topmost parts can be dropped and lay flat in the "parking mode". The rear flaps are not too real enough compared to the movie, but since they are used for landing, they have to be rigid. So I decide to use the one piece brick for it, the top fin brick. This another elevation allows you to see the bottom side, which has a series of blades and a pair of propellers (or should I called choppers?) The two windows can be opened, with top one upwards and the front one pulling outwards to the front. (just like in the movie) Two people can be seated inside too. One set complete! Ready to go to fight crime! Done! Thanks for reading! :D I hope you enjoy this! *** Edited on 2012-12-22 some more photos, which show the size of the plane compared to the tumbler in a better angle... ***
