Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Blakstone replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Put me down for a corner bank as the next modular as well. -
Let's do the time warp again! And did anyone like Ginger better? Not me. I am really hoping that Lothlorien keeps its front page status on IDEAS. I am still hoping for two Lord of the RIngs projects in the same review.

It is two different colors of plastic joined in a mold. They created this mold for the Simpsons CMF line but have used it for the last two CMF lines as well. It is similar to the two toned spears. The silver tip is not printed... it is literally a separate color of plastic that is injected at the same time.

Thanks for all your hard work on this. Another finalist is probably a good thing.

Herky, I have seen buildings that color in Venice and Solvang, CA. They are of course exceptions to the rule. But when checking the colors used in similar buildings in Oklahoma, they are universally brick red and concrete. So LEGO colored buildings already stand out from reality before DO. My more realistic MOC looks out of place next to GE, PS, and FB in my collection. DO does not go much further for me.

You could just bookmark it once you find it like I did. But having the link on the first page would be handy. -
I think the prohibition on cookies is silly but that is fine. Adults can easily change it to a prohibition on alcohol instead but LEGO doesn't have to directly violate their principles.

Excellent cannon, Yooha. I will keep watching for all your reveals.

LegoFish, I think that is a deduction from the info that we have. I don't we will ever get official confirmation. Brotherhood Workshop has some connections within LEGO and they say it is over. I think if something was in the pipe, we would have heard something. But there is one Lord of the Rings set that is going to be reviewed by LEGO for the IDEAS project. If nothing else that will force a new conversation about the line. Perhaps we can ever get Lothloren to 10K supporters in enough time to be reviewed side by side.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
Blakstone replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Huh? Facial hair is a cultural thing. It is a stereotype of the Wild West in the US. However, if you were to go to ancient Rome, you would have seen mostly clean shaved men. When Julius Casear was a rebellious young man, he sported a goatee. I think this sheriff got the large mustache as a way to reuse the mold from TLM in a new color. It is the same as the carpenter reusing Emmet's helmet / hair combo. Most carpenters that I see don't wear helmets. But that might be because I don't see them on construction sites. -

Darth Brick, it does appear intentional since they are both balanced with the same ratio from each. -
REVIEW: 71008 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13
Blakstone replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Excellent review as always WhiteFang. As a history and fantasy fan these last two series have been excellent. I can really see how the designers work to have a good mix for a variety of fans. While I would be pleased by an entire series on Greco-Roman focus or any other historical period, many would not. When possible I skip the sillier minifigs and the space minifigs. However, the level of detail on City ones has lead me into the collecting modulars as well. CMF are a great introduction or reintroduction in LEGO for many. My favorites are the King and Egyptian Warrior. I really want a formidable Egyptian army for all my Roman soldiers and officers. But I will try to get all but the two space guys and the Lady Cyclops.- 104 replies

I am hoping for either F or A. Regardless of whether I win anything or not, this had been really fun. Thanks CopMike and Sinner. The winner of Prize G was hidden for me as the font color matched the background on my iPhone. After clicking where it should be, I found the winner. Then the font color changed since it was a previously viewed link. -

Some of the winners swapped prizes on the trade board last year. CopMike is doing enough as it is. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
Blakstone replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I don't think the samurai has two tone arms, but the Paleontologist does. Still this series is mostly excellent. I will only keep the space guys and the Lady Cyclops. There are three army builders here for me: samurai, goblins, and Egyptian warriors. -

Nah. They are doing the same thing with DC purchases. They are just getting rid of old promos. -
Great to hear. Thanks.

Latest CMF series impact on Historic themes
Blakstone replied to SirBlake's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Good point, Cook. I figured if I ever joined GoH, my character would be a boat builder who seeks revenge after his family is killed. A saw would be great for that. I plan on getting one of each of these, except the space guys and the Lady Cyclops. I will army build the goblins, samurai, and Egyptian warriors though. The king is wonderful though am on the fence with the evil wizard. He is okay I guess. -
So we know yet if the writing on the windows are printing or stickers?

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Blakstone replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I just display my modulars as well. I have a notion of making seasonal updates, but that has been very minimal so far. Around Halloween, I added some jack o'lantern minifigure heads on the wrought iron fence for the residential townhouse (from the PS). When that came down, I also removed the garbage truck and armored cars from the front and replaced it with last year's Christmas tree delivery truck. The only other regular updates are changing the minifigures on the sidewalk. I replaced some plain dark gray studless plates with an offset version so minifigs can stand on the sidewalk. Each CMF series, I update who is on the sidewalk. -
Srbandrews, I agree with SMC. LEGO was just leaving the door open to a third wave when they did that. There are at least 80 pages where most the posters agree that LEGO had planned for a wave following the Orthanc. But with the lack of ads for a third wave and that the 2015 retailers catalog doesnt mention it, most of us agree that LEGO changed their minds. At least LEGO has to have internal discussions about Lord of the Rings again since the Minas Tirith set reached 10,000 supporters. It would be excellent if the Lothloren set was considered in the same IDEAS review period.

If LEGO did not put the Eagle in the Battle of the Five Armies set, they would have saved enough money to put in a new molded creature. The cost of a new molded animal is not the same as an existing molded animal. But you don't have to take my word for it. This is what LEGO designers said about a similar situation where they were trying to decide to make a new poseable skeleton horse or reuse the Harry Potter one. In regards to my earlier post, did the character Azog actually appear in The Hobbit or is the only reference when Gandalf mentions his name to Thorin?

Minas Tirith is down to needing 100 more supporters and Lothloren has past it for new supporters this week. This is very exciting.
